  • GOTTA LOVE !!!

  • "No more dried up tradition; no more soured sentiment."

  • @braveone2u mm...no more dried up 'abolition'?..'tradition'?..'addiction'?...what is most likely to be dried up I wonder!!?? Yes, 'tradition' makes more sense but I just can't hear a 't'... I guess only Mr Sakamoto has the answer!

  • @hejafish In Japanese, the "R" sounds like a mixture of "D and "L." It has to do with the placing of the tongue. Therefore, it doesn't sound like the Western R.

    Peace.

  • @braveone2u Yes, I am aware of that actually..so the Japanese would say something like 'tladition' right?

  • PART 2 @hejafish Also, Vocoder's in the mix. Last, one has to keep in mind the context of the song. According to your interpretation, it's more cultural and philosophical based than a psychedelic-induced song. Just a thought.

  • PART 1 @hejafish It's really not "L," and the Japanese "R" is hard to say, let alone combining it with a "T." Perhaps the combination was too difficult for Mr. Sakamoto to sing, at the time; therefore, he did what many singers do, which is to slur a word in an artful way? I wouldn't be surprised if it were an outright affectation, artistic or not.

  • @braveone2u I tried to ask the man himself on twitter but got no reply! Wel...I think it is safe to go with 'no more dried up tradition'!

  • @hejafish Another clue is the Japanese way of pronouncing the "T." That's another story to take into account. Therefore, I'm not surprised that it sounds close to "addiction," but not quite, and again, the context is important.

  • I don't think the lyrics are "what's the plan?", rather "was the plan"

  • @nicck Yes, I think you're right! Thanks... I'll change it..

  • I've been expecting that someone would upload an excerpt of this tune from the album "BGM" (not a live version!). Great thanx for your upload of quality!

  • @sisters36wil yes it is good sound quality isn't it!! Your welcome :) You should hear the version on youtube by 'Chiba Mo'... it's very good.

  • I want to look at black pictures

    and walk in moonlight gardens

    I take away some insecurity

    then put it back

    no more dried up addiction

    no more soured sentiment

    get some military venom

take it with a pinch of salt

    making music what the plan
