Hey, your video has good content, but I am not sure I totally agree with it... I guess that is why everyone has a channel and opinion right? Either way I like the content and the presentation. I picked up a few ideas from this video so thank you for posting. May I ask, how you go about determining what to make video content about? Are you looking for trending topics or are you just making content around what you think people should be consuming online? I am trying to figure out my process...
You're over analyzing something simple. Just make videos about stuff that interests you and forget the bullshit about 'what people want.' I don't make many videos. I uploaded a few videos in the past and they got a lot of hits(though they were documentary type flicks that I didn't make). My last video I uploaded was a memorial video to my old dog that I had for 17 years that I put to sleep. I immortalized my dog's memory on the internet. Fitting for a good dog.
Magic Jack came out with Magic Jack plus where you plug it into your router and you can plug it to the wall and dont have to leave your computer on anymore. And for only $20.00 a year! pricewise..Magic Jack is way better....I will just wait for the drivers to come out for magic jack for linux...Get Magic Jack Plus! Way better than the regular magic jack.
I've had ooma for over 8 months now and it's the best ever. But few things to consider before buying ooma based on me and my friends experiences.
Tip 1: Have a decent internet service. Not a shitty $20 internet service. They recommend having a connection of at least 300kb/s upstream. I currently have $39.99 Verizon DSL which has 7mb/s downstream and 500kb/s upstream.
Tip 2: It's not free. Every month, u pay $3.47 but it's a very small price to pay.
Hello, i just watched your video and im seriously thinking about ditching ATT and their uber expensive fees, i have internet (the fastest they got ) and Home phone line , monthly bills is about 102.00, can you please help me with info on what i should know before buying OOMA , i understand you use google something to make phone calls , i have no idea what is that...LOL please help
I have had OOMA for over 2 years and I haven't had too many problems. The sound quality is great for a VOIP, you can't tell that it isn't a normal phone line. Vonage and Magic Jack sound awful, and when I use to call my parents from Vonage to there Brighthouse VOIP phone it was like the 2 amplified each others flaws. I highly recommend OOMA.
@juancastillo2006 no you don't need the headset. you plug the phone cord coming out of the ooma into any phone jack in your home and distributes dial tone so you can use any phone in your home.
@camboy1132 MagicJack barely works with Windows. The application freezes half the time. Portability is nice, but it's not a replacement for a home phone.
@SKUNKBALLScom thx brah, i'm going to investigate google voice, not sure how it works though. new to this. i'm looking for reliability voip with canadian # for dirt cheap price
ey bro, i have a question, the ooma works in another country?, for example if youu send it to mexico, can you call to us free like magicjack,? or this device only works in united states, because i tryed the majgicjack is cheap just 40 bucks and it works amazing, but i would like to know if is the same with the ooma of if has better quality please i need your help, if you have time give a quik answer, please, grettins
@eduardosg21 yes it works anywhere in the world as long as you have a stable internet connection. they will have a US phone number so that means they can call anyone in the us for free but not anyone in their own country. pretty nice. i was gonna send it to my grandma on the otherside of the world but she doesnt have high speed internet.
Awesome, thanks for the advice. I do have a question actually. I am moving to Cambodia in 2 months. I want to run a small business from there. Just one phone line would be sufficient. Should I get the Ooma or an IP phone, like you were talking about... or Magicjack even? Thanks again.
@jimbobubbadj In that case just plug the OOMA into your router or between the modem and router with a regular CAT5 network cable. You can buy the wireless phone handset that communicates with the base wirelessely and you're set. No need to have the computer on.
i have ooma and google vioce, i need 2 learn more on how to work the 2 2gether

Hey, great video, but I have a question. Do you have any experience with how ooma would work with a system such as astrix PBX?
Thanks

nettalk is much better check it out nettalk dot com, you dont need to plug it in your computer.

@camboy1132 It does not, get the OOMA , it's much better than Magic Jack, I had both and I will never get a magic jack again.

dude, i need 1 business line canadian number. what should i go with?
gerryboy101 1 year ago
@gerryboy101 If there is no OOMA for Canadian lines then try Google Voice to your existing cell / home phone (assuming you have an unlimited plan).
If that doesn't work then try Ring Central, but it's overkill really for just a 1 line business.
