  • Technically, the characters made specifically for Kingdom Hearts (Sora, Riku, O13, etc) are owned by Square, not Disney. I don't think a Kingdom Hearts ride is feasible.

  • This dance are very fine between of Germany and the land nation, Switzerland. So have Germany and Switzerland a Happy Oktoberfest!

  • 5********

  • Are ya kidding! I LOVE the dancers!

  • When I was a kid, I would use 4 of my 5 E-tickets on this ride!

  • Ass-cent?????????

  • The "uneventful" dance and "dull" Kodak spots are part of this event's charm! And a big part of the park's history. Luckily, I own the DVD from which this comes, so I can watch it in its entirety.

  • @OurTikiTribe what DVD and can you still purchase it?

  • Great to know the history of the Matterhorn.

  • I would have loved to have been there but I was born in 1973.

  • 0:28- RIIIIIIII-COLAAAAAAAAA!

  • Real trees on the Matterhorn! :0 How cool! There's no way the Matterhorn is still that tall though. Man was Walt cool.

  • @flowerneck The trees' growth was intentionally stumped to make the Matterhorn look bigger

  • Je trouve cette vidéo lamentable,

    Campiana

  • there are no real rules in mountainearing appart from learn all of it in order to apply some of it.

  • they make it look so big! "lets shot it in a low angle"

  • Hard to believe all these mega steel looping roller coasters can trace thier lineage to this coaster. This was the worlds first steel roller coaster.

  • @woodencoasterfan well, not the first steel. first tubed rollercoaster that could have more than 1 cars at a time running.

  • Mike Sherrick who did the last rappel made the first ascent of the northwest face of Half Dome in Yosemite a few years later.

  • this was cool but was VERY DULL

  • get fucked

  • yes there is a small half court up there and i know this because i played on it. I used to work fantasy land attractions back in the late 80's early 90's and and one year worked the Matterhorn exclusively along withy my regular summer shift on it.

  • i love this ride!!!!!

  • @DarthKazer meeeeeeeeeeee 2!!!!!! =][=

  • they demolished that side chunk of earth on the mountain fore the tomorowland renivation

  • today on top of the matterhorn at disneyland there is half of a basket ball court.

  • really??? you lie...

  • i bet you $50 there is. even call disney.

  • there was a basketball court that used to in the top of matterhorn..climbers could go there and play basketball to take a break.

  • Back then there was a rule in that city that a structure couldnt be over 100 feet unless it was an athletic facilty. So they thru a basketball court up there.

  • watch?v=63TKKg-KRP0

    You could be right.

  • huh. wow, ya thats what i heard, And walt disney found a loophole, And not to mention the city went easy on him, cuz he IS walt disney.

  • there is,

on my tv this on demand thing there was Disneys legends and in the Matterhorn they showed a basketball court, not a huge fancy one but like a wood wall with a basketball hoop.

  • What loinhearted76 said is not true. The court, which is nothing more than a basketball hoop, was not added until later. Also, Anaheim did not have building codes until the 1970s! Last year the hoop was taken down due to dry rot.

  • Its true

  • there is

  • there is actually one.

  • ya, there is. youtube has a video on here proving that the basketball court rumor is true. look up "disneyland fact or fiction" and look for the one that talks about the Matterhorn.

  • Harvey looks like a nerd :)

  • i went on it for the first time and i wasnt suprisingly i wasnt too nervous lol

    but it was sooo fun!

not as fast as i thought it would be but still one of my fav rides!

  • The first ass-scent? yUCK

  • soooooooooooooooo cool!!

  • This was when the Sierra Club were more interested in mountaineering than the extreme enviromentalist agenda they promote now!

  • hahah that's not the Swiss flag...

  • wow thx for the vid and other vids to go and see

i didnt know the metterhon was based on a real mountain

    im so dumb

    DONT COMMENT

    thx

  • don't worry. it was only 2 years ago i was standing in line for matterhorn and my mom said look at the sign. It was a little sign in the line that was giving a little biography on the real one. I was lke the matterhorn is real?!?! the last time iwent to DL, a couple months ago, i said the matterhorns based on a real mountain?!?!

  • HAHAHHAA, i dont really read the signs. im to busy talknig to me brother telling them to calm down

  • hahaha! i always feel nervous for going on the matterhorn for some strange reason. The same with splash mountain

  • i only feel that on big coasters like california screamin and tower of terror

  • yeah, i usually have that feeling on rides i haven't gone on yet

  • i get that feeling on rides i HAVE been on cause i know what happens...

  • yeah, i remember lst time i went on splash mountain right when i got in, i was so nervous, i gripped the bars on the side so hard and my uncle was like, "Relax, we haven't even left the station yet! " he stared laughing and i was too because i noticed i was relly scared

  • i really want this video, were do you get it, and for how much

  • I love disney land. they should make a kingdom hearts ride, that would be sooooo kewl =)

  • uh..how would that go?

  • FINALLY!!!!

  • someone finally agrees with me about making a Kingdom Hearts ride!!! if they do make one, i'm thinking they should make a ride like Star Tours and put it in Fantasyland. only instead of boarding the Star Wars ship, you'd board a gummi ship and audio-animatronic Sora, Donald, and Goofy would be your pilots.

  • that would be "kinda" cool, but it will nevr happen.

  • that would be creepy

  • I kinda disagree on having a Kingdom Hearts ride, that should be saved for DisneySea Tokyo.

  • Thanks for posting ths too! The Matterhorn is another favorite of mine. It's not as flashy as some, but it's still just one of the most fun.

  • Well, all steel roller coasters in the world can trace their lineage from this ride as this was the first steel roller coaster in the world.
