Is a straight razor with a "fixed blade" somehow preferable to a straight razor with removable blades, such as a Weck razor with Personna blades? If a fixed blade is better, would you explain why?

@charlesr21: It depends on your preference. Changeable blades only come in one edge that the manufacturer makes; when it gets dull you throw it away and put in another one. "Fixed" straights require more time and maintenance, but it allows the user to be able to customize the razor's edge to taste. I personally have a regular "fixed" straight razor. I like being able to keep my razor exactly how I like it - not how a machine left it.
