  • how dose he make it show the mesh inste dof the full tihng ??????

  • @Gamezonemachinima use f3 and f4 for toggle views, To make an object transparent, select the object and press alt and x..

  • can you tell me when i finish ringing of my owen character what is the best and simple program for the animation of this character from the keyboard like what happen in the games?

  • hi sorry i have another question...so now i have the biped but the robot has extra part like cannons slung on its back...is there a way that i can add more bones to be part of the biped?

    thanks =)

  • scratch that...i figured it out lol it was very simple...

  • holy shit i bet ur swedish coming from that accent

  • hey i was wondering if you could give me some advice. I'm working on a project that involves animating a robot. A robot is made of rigid material so the skin and physique modifier wouldn't work, at least not without modifications. Would you have any experience on this? thanks alot! =)

  • @ironphoenix04, this is fairly simple with skin or phys. You can set the verts all to rigid in both modifiers. Ont he other hand if the parts are seperate you could always just link them separately to bones using the link tool.

  • @iwkya1 thnx! i will try that =)

  • @iwkya1 can you help me how do i detach the stuff ????? plz help :(

  • Can you make video tutorial on how to make wow character?

  • @BlackholedudemanG

i dont think he makes wow characters, he imports them from wow-model viewer, you can download it for free

  • Wow you're amazing!! NICE skills there. I have some questions, and seeing as you are so good at answering people too, I'm going to answer them and actually expect a comment back :)) Usually I never do :(

My questions are: Do you work with 3d making? Or have you attended school? I'm wondering if I can teach myself to become this good.

Have you made any movies? Can I see them??

I will leave technical questions for later :))

  • @Cultuz Hi,.. Yes i work in 3d and have my own company while also teaching. I have a degree in games design and a BA honors degree in virtual reality and animation, you can certainly teach yourself, I have made movies but none online, most of the work i do are for clients advertising etc.. Feel free to ask me any technical questions and thanks for the nice comment :)

  • dude, besides that you the foreigner..so also you mumble under nose of that that

    ..egh

  • fucking midget.

  • How do you go to wireframe view? urs is like x-ray mine is like purple lines D: im on 3ds max 2010

  • F3=wireframe

    F4=wireframe+mesh

  • what is the programe that they make this character???

  • the gnome is from world of warcraft and the editing program is 3ds Max

  • lol i dont get it how do i attach 'em all and make em a single object step by step pls if someone will help me

  • i like the title rigging wow like sham-wow

  • thx mate helped me alot

  • i dont understand why ppl complain about you talking much, its only for the greater good for ppl that dont understand :S

  • thanks

  • Iwkya1 FTW! :D

  • I am more than happy for you to find a tutorial that just does it for you with no explanation. Volume is ok here, i suggest you turn it up.

  • it helped alot, but it wasnt thorough enough for the amount of time it took

  • Well, i am sorry if I talk to much for some ppl. On the other hand, when something is explained and you know why its done, im pretty sure you can duplicate the technique very quickly without the need to go back and watch - were as some tutorials people are constantly looking back on them., good luck

  • 1omgz1 what on Earth are you talking about? talk too much? It's a tutorial... He should be talking throughout the entire video or there's something seriously wrong lol.

    Besides, this guy... is... epic.

My problem is not understand one thing that is going on, I have to follow step-by-step so I have been trying to months just to figure out basics. It's going terrible so far.

  • me ?

  • not you no 1omgz1

  • You should make the part 2 into a response to this video. It's much easier to find that way.

  • uh could you tell me wat you said a 4:23-4:27?

  • omfg stop talking that much.. just make the tutorial faster..

  • agree but still good tutorial

  • super

  • how do you make it so the character is see through where you can only see the structure like at 5:54

  • try F3 or Alt+X

  • Hi Iwkya1,

Gladly I found a tutorial that was worth watching, just a few questions.

When I render my gnome, I can still se the Biped, and the textures disapear. Any idear what could cause that?

Secondly, your gnome has a chest. I couldn't figure out how that was made. Modifying vertex'es from the back?

    - Alexander

Keep the good vids up :D - 5 stars

  • click right button on mouse, when pointing object u dont like in your movie, and uncheck cast shadow, and renderable :)

  • What's the problem, u can use free 30 day version, which i think is a lot time to play with it.

  • Thanks for the tutorials. The only problem is that nobody can really follow it.. You move on way too fast, do a hundread things at once and click buttons/activate modes which nobody has a clue of. I've been spending the last 5 hours with this tutorial, but I really haven't advanced since it's such a pain to learn from this.

  • Thanks for the comment. Many of my tutorials are based on the knowledge that you are familiar with 3ds max to a basic degree. If not i have a tutorial on 3ds max to show you basics but i guess you havent looked in my playlists and vids. Also, many many people do benefit from my tutorials to i guess the fact you spent 5 hours on this basic tutorial is based on your own ability - i suggest learning to walk before you can run. BASICS are very important. I always stress this.

  • For the folks wanting great tutorials on just basics in 3DS Max... they're included with 3DS Max when you're using a legal version...

    Look under the Help menu.

  • is this a rig tutorial or how to add poly's by smoothing tut. thnx for the rig half anyway.

  • Also, do you think you can make a tutorial explaining what the basic tools for 3ds max do? I know its very basic but it would really help out the beginners that dont know shnit about the program xD

plz help us noobs, im unable to find a video that explains what most of the tools do D:

  • I do have a basic navigation tutorial for max coving some very basic things. There are many videos on the net and tutorials in the max help that will teach you these things,.

  • hello

i want to ask you plz

when u finish ur project like this how we can make more segements? and to save it after render which is the best type of save to very high quality? and for video too?

    thank you so much

  • when i bring in my character i simply use a CE program to take the screenshots then i import to 3dsmax. When i bring in my character some of the parts of the skin are missing, leaving empty spaces such as the eyelids and eyebrows. Do you know how I can restore the missing parts? Like exactly what tools do i use and where are they located! ty in advance.

  • Im guessing you mean that the mesh is broken up in parts and the texture isnt on them all. This is because you need to either attach all the parts as one big one, or drag the texture on to all parts too, but im not sure what your mean.

  • how i can get wow chars in my 3ds max??

  • Comment removed

  • on 6:33 how did you change it to wire sort of thing?

  • You are my god!!! I LOVE YOU THX FOR THE GREAT TUTORIAL!!!

  • I wonder why didn't you put the character at x=0 position...this should be a good practise for modeling and rigging too.

  • because i had many models in that scene and things can be positioned later on if needed. If you are doing work for a games engine then its a good practise but there was no need in this tut. Thanks

  • I see what you mean.

But for new comers following the tutorials it's better to remind them to check out the basic steps so they won't get into troubles when doing symmetry and mirroring whights etc.

    Anyway~

Thanks for your effort to make a tutorial to share your knowledge!

  • I got a question: Is it possible to extract model files from the game and import them in 3d max? :]

  • awesome job man, makes me wanna start learning XD

  • Any plans to make a tutorial for importing maps?

Great tutorials, I really needed this and learned quite a few other things in the process.

  • Gnome, pretty cool! HELL YEA :D

  • It took me a while to sort out where figure moad even was xD Shame max chose then to crash on me do to an unknown error. >.>

  • Huh.. by the way.. the sellect all and welding them by 0.01 is proving very hard with some figures. I did it to a belf female and after the weld distorted the face badly and it didn't weld the dress verts at all. Doing a sellect weld to areas that needed it, I still could not get the dress part (below the belt) to weld, it just would screw up even worse.

  • I know you posted a month ago, but you can use "Target Weld" to manually weld two vertices together, if you're still having trouble. Just select Target Weld, click in the first vert, and click on another (viable) vert.

  • Hey guys, Its really nice to that my vids are helping you in some way no matter how big or small. Keep up the 3d work :)

  • Great tutorial!

  • Nice it helped me alot! as the other one, great tutorial! :D

But I have one problem with rigging like a spider tank or something, if you check the leg at a robot spider tank you will see what I mean :) Thanks!

  • The weld thingy helped me alot! Thank you! ^^

  • Yeah, me too. was having real problems with xelda models, now they look great :D
