@Panzerwurfer Line infantry were trained to fight in a group, no aim, just fire a broadside. So no they have almost no individual skill, initiative or ability to fight out of formation nor accuracy or melee ability , unless you fancy the bayonet on the end of your musket.

Who is they? Most of the British Soldiers only get of the one shot and presumably they are loaded already. They arrived with loaded guns and spaced them out for faster firing. Also the younger child is reloading out of frame for his older brother.

Also they dont clean their guns they they use a ramrod to push down the cartridges, if they are using cartridges, chances are given that they are hunting weapons they are pouring the powder down themselves

Those aren't smooth-bore muskets. They're Kentucky Rifles. The barrel is rifled (cut into grooves) on the inside, which makes the ball spin, which allows it to be accurate. They also wrapped leather or cloth around the ball to allow it to grip the grooves. The farthest record shot of the kentucky rifle killing a man is over 250 yards, and the british Baker rifle could do the same at 700.

Well, the Americans were all required to own one for Militia duty (I mean a gun, not a rifle). As for Rifles, they were made to order and many frontiersmen had them, but yes, the everyday person (especially people in the cities) wouldn't own one.

Actually smooth-bore muskets aren't as inaccurate as most people think. Granted the odds of hitting a man is small beyond 100 yards but within 50 yards they are fairly accurate and the British soldiers in this scene are much closer than that.
