  • Science has learned recently that contempt and indignation are addictive mental states. I mean physically and chemically addictive. Literally! People who are self-righteous a lot are apparently doping themselves rhythmically with auto-secreted surges of dopamine, endorphins and enkephalins. Didn’t you ever ask yourself why indignation feels so good?

    —David Brin

  • I disagree, I think there is in fact a chance that YouTube does promote that stuff or whatever the case is. i'l use your example if I were to call someone a faggot there is a chance that I am literally calling someone who is gay a faggot and am not over compensating a thing.

  • @N1nj4Sk1llz420 Oh I will completely agree that there is a chance that you calling someone a faggot could result in you actually slamming a gay person with an insult directed towards gays. On purpose or accidental.

The fact still remains though that your use of that terminology has a "tendency" to reflect insecurities within yourself. The old "I am rubber you are glue..." thing is sort of about that. People tend to throw insults which are about things they fear within themselves.

  • karm dude dave kicks ass but i agree dave i have found that poeple fear things seems to snuff it out different always seems to be wrong unstead of sitting downa nd seeing good in it you know another thing i cant stand bible thumpers who arent for the church but they try to make themselfs into god thanks dave

  • Gotta love a bit of Dave giving you the true cause everyother fuckers lying to you :P

  • i haven't seen this guy before today & this video, that disclaimer aside: this guy has a well presented case here, & it is thoughtfully presented.

I have learned from this, & appreciate the lesson on human discourse as suggested. Well spoken. "if the truth can be told, so as to be understood, it will be believed." - Terrence McKenna

  • @Karmathejedi1701 Oh man, hehe I wouldn't get too excited cuz most of my stuff is a bit, over the top shall we say? heheh I toned this one down quite a bit so the style would not conflict with the topic. I do appreciate the kind words though.

  • You definitely have an influence on me now. I am looking within myself now, a lot more clearly. DAVE. I am now willing to see and forgive my own mistakes. And others. I see.

  • This video was way different without the loud voice and the crazy faces. But, at least you made your point. Peace out.

  • Great vid dude i might check out your other vids. They seem funny.

  • Bravo Dave so true Thanks for the light!

  • great arguement against him. I bet he blocked you... or just said "your an idiot." thats fine though. he knows he was wrong. And I just tried to look at this thing he was complaining about... Couldn't find what the hell your talking about lol. Maybe there was an update since this video was made and they took it off... who knows

  • Great vid you should do more like these. Maybe religion, life, love lessons or something

  • nice video

  • hey, only just discovered your vids, have just been watching a few.

I liked the point about diamonds.. In my dissertation for uni I wrote about 'value' and how the western perception of value is all screwed up. I used an example that you need to mine out a 12 x 12 x 10 foot chunk of earth/ore to make one gold wedding ring, and that ore has to be treated with cyanide and goes through lots of processing procedures.. and this is seen as a symbol of love?

anyway, i like your vids dude. keep it up

  • It really fucks up your perceptions of the world when you actually take the time to THINK about this kind of things, doesn't it? On the other hand, a dude called Marx tried to make it a bit less fucking ridiculous (definition of "value", and shit) and ultimatly all he did was kill some 100 million people, a lot of my ancestors included. Oh well, fucking figures.

  • Metaphorically, anyway.

  • this is something I always end up concluding. you think about something until you realise that its not worth thinking about. booze helps

  • I know it helps man. I guess it's just too bad I'm an alcoholic in my second year off booze. But I ain't bitter :D:D:D

  • Excellent video! Your great ability to articulate your position is extremely interesting to watch. Keep'em coming....

  • I like this video dude! :)

You have a gentle side. Who would have known. :)

  • Bravo, brother.

    Extremely well said.

  • Hi Dave, I like normal Dave, At first all the tatoos and rings I wasn't going to watch but not really being bias that way, just a little scared of the unusual, I gave it a shot. Your cool. Just a little message from a little old lady. Stay Cool. bye

  • Yeah it is all becuase of the tags and i think this fucker is smart as hell.

  • wow...excellent

  • Great vid - I like quiet Dave, because High IQ's abound.

Now.... are you ever a guy (the diamond thing). Polar diamonds (Canadian) are gorgeous, no harm to man, and women love 'em

;) Happy Valentines day, cheapo! lol

    (nudge, nudge, wink, wink)

  • What an irony it is that the tags in that person's video brought about what she perceived as an assault. It's a prime example of how we get back exactly what we send out.

I love your stuff, but this is one of the most interesting videos you've done. Why don't you do a full hour and post it in segments, or upload it as a podcast somewhere? I know I'd be interested in watching it, especially now that you have more insight into the person who posted the original video.

  • I spent the whole video looking for this button.....but still a good vid despite my stupidity

  • That`s right. They should be able to prove they`re right w/out acting like emotional morons as well as 'live and let live'.

  • Hi Dave, I definitely track with you on this one.

  • hi Dave!

  • Holy shit @ ratings i took a screenie =p

  • Most arguments tend to go nowhere anyway and consume much energy...best not to argue at all.

  • Well said.

  • You have some great points here : )

    Rocket

  • Some people are just unstable and have other issues that just get channeled through mundane things like the bubbles on full screen. I saw a lady lecture this waitress about the crackers in her table being cracked. A normal stable person would not have said anything.

It was obvious something else in her life made her fall apart.

    Good blog. Patrick :o)

  • So so true.. imposing any opinion on an other humanbeing is just not being realistic and honest to themselves and others.. :¬D And yes, we do have our cliques and I like to think that those who watch me, and who I watch are in the "open mind" and "honest" people.. Happy Christmas DAve, and a merry new year :¬D

  • Happines because of diamonds is one same reoccuring theme because of human society programing. We think we need diamonds to be happy. We think it so bad that we are willing to kill for these ideas.Truth is, we dont need anything to be happy! we already are happy! we just dont realize it because we were born to a programing to believe we need something but we dont ! no diamonds! no religion! no stupid papers! nada.

  • word. but let me bottomline this for you and correct me if i'm worng. We should step out of the fear of what others think of us because it doesnt matter. We should express what we feel and believe. We should also allow everyone else to express their opinions and goals even if they differ from ours. And we shouldnt impose our beliefs on anyone else, always respecting free will.

  • Dreamer23245, correct you if you're worng? Ok, you spelled "wrong" ... wrong.

  • great :D thanks

  • I agree. I simply question those who go beyond an opinion and into extreme behavior using the opinion as a rational for the behavior. I see a distinction between opinion and behavior.

  • I tried the bubble thing on this video, and a video came up called "Is my butt getting enough milk" Lol, maybe the guy did have a point.

  • Dave, that is one of the best videos I've seen in a long time. As opposed to some people who just accept that diamonds are somehow plucked from somewhere... people DIE in order that you feel good for a time. That's the legacy of diamonds.

  • You got it!

  • That was a nice video.

Can you make a video about why you don't like diamonds? I'm really interested in your opinion.

  • i know exactly what the 'bubbles all over the screen' thing is..is this the new thing? it had pics but most of them were asisn babes naked, maybe its because i was watching an anime vid? who knows? love the vids keep it up dude x (yes ia m english,i dont know the 'cool' and 'hip' words to say)

  • Well here is a small update hehe. The person I was talkin about responded to my video comment by saying that I should focus my anger on the ........blah blah (that persons agenda) What anger? No acceptance of responsibility for the misguided actions just a diversion of focus back onto their agenda and an assumption that I am as anger filled as they. hehe oh well :) Now back to me doin loud crazy shit :)

  • That is why we all love you.

  • Well said Dave, I agree with you one hundred percent. It's a conversation I've had myself many times on a google newsgroup I sometimes contribute to. Unreasonable people show themselves up with help from others. Look forward to seeing you back in your "usual" loud and happy mode, you always brighten up my day!

  • P.S: I meant to say "show themselves up without help from others".

  • Gramma Tacy always said: "You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar." It always worked for me :) Love your video, Dave.

  • I didn't rate it. It was worth a lot of stars but I can't say it was 'awesome'. It was worth watching, very much so, but 3/5 is ridiculous. So, sorry, no rating here.

I'm at a loss for words and it would take much more room than this here comment box for me to express my opinion, so I'll say something about diamonds instead.

They are worth something indeed. They are a very valuable tool, among the hardest substances known to man. It sees a lot of use in many areas.

  • Cyclonebg : I agree that diamonds make great tools like cutting blades and fine grinding but their fashion and investment value is completely fabricated. Now tool grade diamonds can be created fairly cheaply as apposed to the mining operations which cause a great deal of pain in many ways. Maybe a video some day.

  • The art of war I've heard of that book, and am pretty close to wanting to read it. The only real reason for countries(like the U.S) now waging war for each other is because somebody wants to make a little extra cash on the side. The way we do it is we find a reason (or make up a reason,) to go into war. Look at 9/11 the Iraq war or the Sinking of the Lusitania in WWI it makes sense when you read up on it.

  • ah, a voice of reason amidst the clamor

    of the self-righteous horde.

there's got to be a law against that shit

  • Dave, you should do more of these videos? Well said mate!

  • I got 1 offensive thing (to me), a child in her panties dancing. All though I think that should not be on here for my reasons, I am sure others look at it and say that's cute.

It slows down slower computers, as there are a lot of active animation in the function - it is not a virus.

    good video man.

  • Ah, the voice of reason. Is that allowed?

    :)

  • :0) I will punching you later.. LOL :P

  • Excellent Dave. I found myself pondering my own actions and I appreiciate(sp) your gentle reminder of our own cause and effect. Thank you. 5*'s & fav.

  • Yeah, I catch myself flying off the handle sometimes.

  • very good dave ..

  • Great video, great message.

  • Wow DAve, the other side of you rocks just as much.

  • Dave, thanks. I needed a rational calm voice to drown out distractions.

I feel drawn into an emotional argument under the tense "I know best". Such arrogance!

  • "Illuminate"...one of my favourite words! fantastic video Dave! You are the best at both extremes.

  • 5* Although I do disagree to some extent on the diamond issue. There's nothing like a set of industrial diamonds bedded in a carbide blade when it comes time to cut stone or concrete...

    ;)

  • I tried it Dave wow cool. I never tried that before.

    Thanks ;-)

  • Excellent video, however...what do you suggest we do with people who do NOT listen to our best attempt at logic? I rarely rant but did 2 days ago after repeatedly trying to communicate with someone calmly and politely.

    Victor

  • Exactly! Your so right here. Far to many people go off the deep end way before they take the time to even understand what they are talking about. Calm is always best, rather than jumping the gun as they say. Debate is civil.

  • Tedium is the medium...

...and we're ALL stuck in it !!!

  • I have a SPI cience lesson in the works...Might need YOUTubers help.... It would go well with a house...

  • Dave, ya know I think our family would take you in any format that you chose to project yourself! We just love your insight and could not agree with you more. We take this form of tact all the time with our cancer aspects. Thank you for your thoughts and sharing them with us all the time. Happy Holidays! HUGS xoxo

  • Excellent video, well said! Scary Dave is fun, but serious Dave makes a lot of sense. Thanks!

  • for a scary dave you are quite insightful, that must be why I subscribed.

bravo on the diamond boycott, all that misery for something that looks like glass.

  • and then there are times you just have to walk away from the willfully ignorant....

  • eire138 : Agreed lol

  • Wow dave, 56 views and 11 comments, your a freaking celebrity baby!

  • the rightous the just and the pure are allways inventing hells for normal people to suffer in , or to blame ,or pay the price for there own extreemism................can you perform a public. church of dave FIRE BAPTISM for the lost souls of the just the rightous and the pure

  • right on scareydave.

this should be youTube dot CALM, not cum.!

  • Dave you is so true!!!

  • Amen Brother! Funny you should mention extremes. I rambled about them tonight too.

    Serious Dave rocks too!

  • i love the different sides of dave...i dont usually look at the related vids or the bubbles from my vids...

i agree w you about staying calm for discourse

  • "stealing the rights of others to make decisions"

    hmmmmmm

lets think of who does that

    hmmmmmm

    oh yeah

    the entirety of the government

i mean, the leaders of civilization

  • they are NOT the leaders.

  • Reminds me: That cute dumbass Heavennevaeh with the nice tits freakin blocked me for lightly getting on her case over that bull she pulled on Youtube where she accused them of racism, now the only way I can watch her sexy videos is to sub to her tags :(

Oh by the way [subbing to tags] that's another cool feature you can use in the account subscription area.

I love that new galaxy mode too, unfortunately Youtube hasn't fixed those new glitches that came along with it so I can't rate videos

  • Most of the politicians who scream about porn do so because they're too stupid to solve real problems like poverty or global warming, so they troll for a "hot button" issue. They also use it to try to control the Internet, since the corpagovernment hates the freedom of alternative knowledge it offers - it's killing their Hypnotic Control.

  • Cybervigilante, poverty is only a problem if you are poor. In a republic, as long as 51% of the voters do not consider themselves poor, who gives a crap about the other 49%?

  • It's sort of a neural net - it connects with related things, but also throws our vaguely related things. Kind of neat. It's like an old used bookstore where some books are filed and some are not. That way you get out of your reading rut.

Some people hate and fear new ideas, though. There's a lot of them out there and the scary thing is they vote. You're right though - hating is a habit.

  • wow--you being so serious is SCARY--hope that person sees this vid and gets a clue!!

  • agreed

  • oh man - nice vid. I love your regular church of dave vids... but my goodness, I was mesmerized by "regular dave's" voice.....loved it, do more...;))))
