@manchester2ibiza Of course, it will vary for a Schnauzer or a Mastiff, but rough dimensions for my 80 lb dog: main floor area = 4'x4', rear wall height = 22", front wall height = 30", front porch floor = 2'x4'. I've just added these dimensions as a note in the video since others have asked as well. Good Luck!
@rockbutt123 Sorry, no detail, each doghouse measurement is going to depend on the size of your dog. It's more about the general idea of the doghouse shape. Let me know if you have any questions though.
@normalguydiy sorry for talking crap but u do have to admit the title of the vid is all wrong and leads people to think they are gonna get instructionis. great house though. peace
@Fbcfhffhu About $100. Most expensive parts are probably the choice of siding panels, the plywood/osb used for floor/roof, and the shingles. Watch for sales.
@asswipercocmaster23 Thanks Mr. Wiper, main portion was done first day, but then I left the front off for a week to let the dog get used to going in and out.
@boywithguitar He's a shelter rescue, so not quite sure. Definitely German Shepherd coloring, with the purple tongue of a Chow, and soft fluffy fur of a Keeshond. If you are thinking about getting a dog, please check out your local animal shelter, lots of loving dogs just looking for their forever home.

@msboati I may try to make a more detailed follow up video, but I actually didn't use drawings/dimensions. The measurements all depend on the size of the dog. For my 70lb dog, I made the height in back @ 2', then angled the roof up enough toward the front for rain drainage. The floor indoors is roughly 4'x4' with a 2'x4' front deck. Good Luck :)
Awesome! This is almost exactly what I have in mind for mine. Thanks for sharing. Hey, beside those knobs, is there anything you would do different if you did it again?
@Digitmann Thanks! I have made 2 more since this one, and I used 2x3's to try to bring the weight down. Also, I should have made the base 3" less wide so that my 4' wide roof would have had an overhang. I made my interior floor 4'wide, but that made the roof barely cover it all. Good Luck!
thanks, this helps a lot and looks simple. My cousin made a crappy house for my dog about 5 years ago and now it is a rotting piece of trash but this looks much more durable :)
@TheWizz82 The latch idea is good, but these cheap sliding latches have a 'handle' knob that pulls off too easily, so I'm constantly putting them back together. Any other gate latch, or some type of pin that would set into a hole, should be good. Thanks.
You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Great job. I really like the result.
