  • happy guy :)

  • your from Lehigh valley, holy crap I used to live there, its a small world

  • SLEEPER I FRIKKIN LOVE IT MAN

  • hahahaha they put a 190hp thunderbird motor in ..hahahaha cuz that is NOT a motor from a 86 to 93 mustang motor ..........

  • it's a metrosexual car, looks gay but it ain't.

  • very factory appearing swap....very clean

  • haha the "zoom zoom" tag on engine block is the icing of the cake :D

  • nice car man im a chevy guy but i bet that car is hella fast!

  • what does it run?

  • ever race against a 4.9 northstar fiero? that would be a good race

  • oooo dam thats a mustang 302 5.0 small block

  • How much would this cost if I didn't have time to do it myself , but had the car and money?

  • around $7,000 just the kit w/o engine is $4,000

  • from monster miata, their site has around $15k i think. maybe $20k.

  • The A/C lol! You need to get a power steering relocation kit. They're $40

  • i so wanna finish my swap sigh

  • that is the main reason why they put a v8 engine in there. its mainly because of its ability to handle.

  • I was just wonderting, but how well would a v8 miata handle in general at the track?

  • they do fairly well in a straight line, if you can get traction. the v8 doesnt throw the weight distribution off as much as people think, with the v8 its still some where around 52/48. so it should still handle pretty well.

  • with the 5.0 and a half tank of gas its 53/47 :P

  • i was close XD

  • In the related vids there is a monster miata that gains on a ferrari. Is that good enough handling for you? haha

  • really the main reason fords and miatas mix is so the oil pan can clear the crossmember. im sure there are some MM owners who like chevy, but they just won't fit in the miata without major car-heart surgery.

  • ford in miata is not a so good choice!!1

  • Why not Ford owns Mazda ?? lol so it makes sence

  • retard, people may just have built IDK it doesn't take retard to figure it out but obviously you can't. So, you're the retard, good one making yourself look stupid.

  • hhahahahah what bitch?? who u talkin to?? hahahaha ive built and swapped engines fuckin dumbass lol dont u feel stupid lol

  • no not really... you're a retard, built as in SOUPED UP Don't you feel retarded. You're probably a southern inbred retarded redneck.

  • lol no seas pendejo estupido lol .. ur hatin ass foo .. juss cuz im successful ur gettin all envious

  • Must be a very small v8 engine to fit itself in there... and to top it all off, it's a Ford. -.-

  • well they do have conversions with chevy motors if that what ur into idk about dodge.

  • its a 302 and yeah its a ford you throw some good heads or maybe even a stroker kit in it and youve got something thats not just a "small" V8 but a 450 horse v8 in a car that weighs 2300 lbs.

  • @iceman3737 sounds like an uncontrollable death trap

  • lol at leats it doesnt have a 350 with 270 hp lol

  • hahahhaha that 5.o engine is gay!!! that mustang is the weakest mustang ever made!!! that shit shudnt even be called a mustang .. hahahha i can give a fuck if it is efficient or not all i know is that ur cars are fucken wack!!!! hahhaha

  • @hipnaughtic:if i didn't know anything, what you say sounds impressive.......

  • Comment removed

  • @hipnaughtic - You're off on a LOT of these facts. The 1993 Cobra had a 230 HP 5.0 (which is actually a 4.9) so the HP/L is at 47, so there's no true significant difference in HP/L. However, the Cobra motor weighs roughly 100 pounds less than the 5.7, so it has the edge on power to weight. BTW, the 1995 Cobra R 5.8L has 300 HP flat, and would be a more competitive motor with the Chevy LT1, and still weighs less.

  • @Slipknotyk06 arent the lt1 aluminium blocks, and the 5.0 iron.

  • @coalandnuclear - Both were iron. GM didn't get rid of the Iron block until production of the LS1 in 1997 (Corvettes only) and 1998 (all other vehicles). However, the LS family of motors was produced in iron for the trucks. Ford got rid of the iron block in 1996 with their modular motors.

  • i luv Chevy it is in my blood but i'd do the 5.0 swap. i like all platforms really.

  • old mustang engine

  • hahahah "old mustang engine lolol mr "440" lol

  • ford =/

  • @Ericjcrash mazda is part of ford

  • shit...I'd be smiling too...kudos on the car

  • tell jayson i would like to buy his next project when completed. that is a nice car

  • an airforce buddy of mine has a miata mx5 with a built up 302 boss mustang engine in it.

  • its not a h.o. motor so its ball-less. and stock a 5.0 wont come out of its shell til you get rid of the stock crap nice but could be way nicer..

  • Don't judge an engine by it's intake plate...this engine was rebuilt from a 91 Mustang GT but retains little of the original motor. The block was bored to 306, blueprinted and flatdecked to create higher comp. The heads were upgraded with stiffer springs and a multi-angle valve job so that they flow on the bench like a stock GT-40's. The stock cam was replaced with a E-303 and the entire intake is from a Lincoln MKVII (60mm). Horsepower is about 250 at the rear wheels (I'm the builder BTW).

  • how is that not an H.O? as soon as the 302 got fuel injection it was considered an H.O.

  • actually when the H.O first came out, it was only in the mustang in 86, then they put it in the (87 and up, XR-7's)cougar and one year in the t-bird (89)and also the lincoln LSC other then that, they are all EFI 302 ie. 87 and up crown vics, grand marquis and towncar's. And in 89 and up H.O/EFI 302 were all mass air flow

  • they also swap lt1's in em.

  • yeah the 5.0 mustang engines fit best in the miatas because very little modifications are needed to fit it in there

  • hell yea ford buddy

  • AHHH its a ford

  • Staminkia

  • now my question is why u put a for engine in miata ford is POS quality!

  • Here's what the builder says:

"As for the Ford engine's "quality" -- while it is true that the build quality of a typical early 90's American V8 from the factory is not as good as its Japanese counterparts, this particular Ford 302 has been completely rebuilt and blueprinted to tolerances far tighter than even the original Mazda engine had. Thus, it's level of precision is in keeping with the level of the original car."

  • but we all know that ford quality from experience is not great!

and i know i used to have a mustang cobra and i love the exhaust and everything but so much shit goes wrong with them and now i drive a turbocharged mazda and i have n0t had a problem with it

  • Remember:

Ford does own approximately 33% of Mazda!

    :-)

What do you drive, man? Those Mazda turbos are pretty good right outta the box. . .

  • i didnt know that ford owns 33% of mazda wow interesting hmmm

i got a hiboost kit for my mazda 3 s

  • Yea but Ford pretty much leaves 'em be.

If they're smart they'll continue doing that, anyway. . .

Mazda 3s are great cars! My neighbor's kid is down visiting -- he's got a Mazda 3 sitting out there now. I was checking it out yesterday -- black -- four doors with the hatch. It's a Canadian model so it'll plug into an outlet to keep from freezing way up there in Canada.

  • yeah they are pretty fun to drive lol

  • hay virussian can you feel a big difference with the turbo because i was thinking about putting either a 5.0 or modifying my 1.6 with a turbo and getting the head ported.

  • @vlrussian bullshit! if you take care of a car, regardless of make or model, it will last. and mazda is essentially a ford product. FORD=#1

  • @vlrussian No, actually, 'we' don't. This type of broad brush statement is typical of anecdotal thinking, and in your case, I use the word 'thinking' loosely. Do some digging and perhaps you can find some info about, say, sludge build-up in Toyotas. I'll continue enjoying my crummy American-built 27 mpg Magnum R/T.

  • @vlrussian thats not true i have over 400,000 miles on my mercury cougar and its never given me a single problem. my acura tl on the other hand has left me on the side of the road 2 times already im stickin with ford.

  • why are thay all ford and not chevy engines ?

  • have no idea men

  • because Ford owns Mazda? i have seen a few with chevy drive-trains

  • Some say fords are pos cars, not the mustangs. When taken care of those things can run awhile. Not too mention the 5.0's were badass. The reason he put the 5.0 in the miata, its an easier swap to do. More power+the handling= win. I love the way it gives it that american muscle sound, not ricey like.

  • @vlrussian LMFAO thats funny because mazda is part of ford you stupid retard

  • @vlrussian because the 5.0 is the strongest motor designed by ford hands down.

  • @slipknot1012003 im a ford guy all the way and used to own a 400whp fox. that being said, the 5.0 block is garbage, they are know to split at around 500hp.

  • lucky guy ;)

  • I have driven a V8 Monster Miata and I prefer my FM Turbo Miata as the power comes on very strong and a bit less weight. If I need a V8 I'll take my 03 Z06 for a spin.

  • Cool man. Post some vids of your Z-06; I'd love to check it out. Hotness!

  • my first car was miata 12yrs ago, nice for school go! mini ferari feel ,sadly no much punch engine, then really nice chilling with!I remember.., but worst rainy drive!unstable breaking, tail move up!so V8 ...dunno!

  • Here's what the builder says:

"Find someone who will let you drive his and then try to make that comment. The Miata as is has 51 front, 49 rear weight distribution. With the V8 with iron head the weight shifts one percent to the front. That is still better than any Mustang, Camaro, or any front drive "tuner" car. It's even better than an AC Cobra from the sixties. If you sub out the iron heads for aluminum your right back to where you started: 51, 49."

  • watch?v=hsh4cEhEWlg

Watch that video about v8 Miatas. Once your done with that reply.

  • Wow- another poorly informed bastard making a blanket statement. If I had a buck for every time......

  • The hell with the LS1, a buddy of mine is finishing up his monter miata with a LS7.

  • yeah but when you put a cam on an LS1 it shakes the earth lol

  • LS1 would have been better!

  • And a LOT more expensive. LS1 is a great engine, but very expensive to purchase and modify. (Ford 5.0 parts are everywhere, and the 5.0 has much more aftermarket support)

  • Hes got a point.

  • watch?v=gPuhA2taax4

copy and paste that to the end of the youtube url. Thats a Miata with an LS1. The LS1 swap requires a lot more work than the 302ci Mustang engine. Anyhow enjoy the video.

  • That is one clean car! And the sound is incredible!

  • Shhh, be very very quiet... I'm hunting Hondas >:D

  • hahahah rofl
