That's because he's an underground artist. The Hip Hop game started to get commercialized around the time when he started to get recognized. He's been around for a very long time (1990ish) and he's actually one of the most millitant and truest MC's ever in the game. You should check out some of his stuff. He's a true lyricist. I don't think Hip Hop is ready 4 him, though.
