@BadmunkyWRX i concur 100%.... its a great start to what im sure is going to be an amazing 2+2 sports coupe... probably a genesis killer, but i wouldnt buy one of the new ones because, like you said, the first ones have all the problems that no one noticed in designing, building, and testing
Although there's definitely no room for a turbo, I could definitely see the possibility of a positive displacement type supercharger. The front drive assembly, being placed where it is, in line with the throttle body and intake manifold, would allow for a supercharger setup, albeit using an aftermarket intake manifold.
I like this car. its made for handling its a good teamwork effort with subarus engine and drivetrain and toyotas chassis. If only we get the gt86 instead of that dumbass scion.
it's not toyota gone bad, it's call two good companies teamed up to make a good car. only way to get low center of gravity is using boxer engine so its only right toyota got with subaru.
@09blackcobaltss It is light, tiny, and great at cornering. Plus, it has the high revving power of the subies engine. At that price, you should be able to afford a turbo/super charger. then, you have an 2WD STi at 10k less. Just sayin derp.
@DMasterMensionz toyota and subaru have been working together for years Subaru actually builds the Camry at their U.S assembly plants and toyota owns a part of subaru so no they are not competitors or going bad
@DMasterMensionz competitor? last i checked toyota is majority holder of subaru, they used them for the engine for the Cog and the chassis so they wouldn't have to spend millions developing a new one, plus since they own most of subaru why not just use one of their plants to make the ft 86 since handling the impreza based chassis is already programmed into the computers... they saved MILLIONS doing all this, smart move not a desperate one...
@sdlausen what happened to the day's of the original hachiroku, MR2, celica, supra? Did subaru build that too? It doesn't matter who owns who. No ignorance but Japan's automotive world is not the way it once was.
looks too much like the Toyota GT86 (Scion whatever version) ... at least change the front/rear bumpers and features, not a complete clone with a different badge !!!
This is a vary nice looking car.
I own a WRX and love it.
I would buy a BRZ if Subaru did a few things to it.
First CHANGE THE NAME!
2nd 200hp is ok but 151tq is lame. Give it 260hp 260tq and Ill take one in blue please.
3rd its till to heavy. 2770lb is a lot for a car this size.
For the price the weight is to high and the power is to low.
For about the same price you can get the WRX that will be just as fast and with a few mods much faster and it is a better car to live with every day.

They'd better keep it at 25k or people will just spend a few more grand and buy the 370z with the 350hp V6.

@DMasterMensionz Badge engineering has always been part of the auto world. Not sure why Toyota and Subaru can't both share the development costs.
Talon/Elclipse
3000gt/Dodge Stealth
Corolla/ Geo Prism
These are just a few.
