....the story behind ours is so poignant, the devotion to duty with the sentinals in USA is incredible........just to think, that even now, there is a guard, protecting the tomb, making the 21 steps, 21 seconds pause...............we both know how to look after our lost...........we buried him with kings, America decided he would be protected until he is known............75 yrs later he still has a permanent guard..............
I've watched this loads of times (most weekends) in the last year,......up to about a month ago it had 10k views, now its got 15k..........I'm sure this is due to armistice day....however, all the comments are the same......."just seen this and blown away", e.t.c. ........, the reality is other countries have since copied this, but this was the original.......I would suggest watching America's unknown soldier.............
How sad to see this remarkable film, it does bring it home to you about the horrors of war and how many innocent young people never return, and you could say, that all this and more, has been, or is caused by politicians!!!!
and to think I once saw tourists walk over this grave, as a Soldier I stopped them and asked the Dean of Westminster why this can happen... Lest we forget our mortality.
@psari Thank you very much for this tribute my grandfather was a soldier during the great war I never got to know him he was one of the lucky ones I was also a british soldier .
The poor men, little more than kids. Sent off to fight for the greatest nation on earth. They did us proud. The UK lives on as a free country only thanks to the sacrifice of our granfathers. And Muslim terroists think they destroy our country by bombing london? They dont know what are fighting against. I will happily die to preserve the freedom of Britain and her people.
In my personal opinion I think it was tastefully done, what an emotional video. Does the music really matter? It does not make one iota of a difference of the impact of the video has on you? Anyway nice vid loved everything about it even the music.
Dude, I think you did a wonderful job on this!. Very tasteful and informative, a beautiful tribute to all of the pour souls who sacrificed themselves for their country. @Gardanos There are some videos, threads etc that just should not be trolled, and this is one of them. Shame on you.

@Isthisthelongestname I agree with you, that noise was tasteless, and totally out of place! However, I thought the rest was splendid and the soothing accompaniment appropriate..
We have to guard ourselves against over indulgence. If you look closely at this remarkable film, you will notice how reverent the soldiers are...as in the careful spreading of the Union Jack over the coffin. They are making a conscious effort not to intrude. As we watch neither should we, by use of Trade mark monkeys or modern popular music."
VespaT the words are not in question.........difficult as they are to hear over the too strident 'pop' music.........there are plenty of ways of accompanying violence than with overburdening pop music. The selfindulgent shot of the monkey trade mark spoils the opening sequence in a similar way.
This is a very intense and moving film. It is totally spoiled for me by the disjointed opening and the totally wrong music at 5 minutes in which demonstrates the culture gap between then and now. . .

I had shivers down my spine knowing that the Unknown Warrior will never know how he has allowed so many mothers, fathers, wives and children to grieve for there loved ones who will never be found to this day. He represents every lost soldier in every war and I thank him for that.
one of the best videos/movies i have ever seen, was very emotional and very touching, was just truly amazing and its to those fallen men and women that we have our tomorrow...we will always remember them...R.I.P
As a American I found the film very stirring and well done. The British who "invented" the idea of the unknown soldier which all other nations have copied. This first ceremony has the undercurrent of a nation who has grasped the great calamity of losing 1 out of 7 of their young men.
It was the idea of Rev David Railton early in the war after seeing the combat grave of a British Soldier maked with a hasty cross of scrap wood and inscribed "Unknown British Soldier"
Never seen this piece of film before. The burial of our Unknown Warrior gave enormous comfort to those families who had lost someone. He came back home across the Channel to Britain and he could have been any one of the nameless thousands who simply disappeared in the mud of the Western Front. A moving tribute. Many thanks Psari.
I've never been so moved by a movie, as what I was watching your brilliant movie. I was stationed in Berlin at the hight of the cold war 1977-84 and visited the war graves in Berlin, I also visited the Belsen consentration camp, and have to say your movie moved me far more, I was weeping like a child, just seeing thoses mothers laying the wreaths brought home to me the suffering and loss.
FOR WHAT? Lets hope this never hapens again. Once more WELL DONE FAB Movie
Very, very good. I enjoyed it very much. I have become immersed in Great War material with my own book. This video extended into the fascinating aftermath.
What does a nation do when it has slaughtered a huge proportion of its young men.
Simply fantastic. Thank you so much for this wonderfully evocative film. It is a fitting tribute to a generation now past but who will never be forgotten. God bless you.
Fantastic video, thank you so much for posting. It should be watched by everyone, to learn the sacrifices made by brave men in WW1 for all our benefit. God bless all the Unknown Soldier's around the world.
By exhuming his body from specific battlefields, through uniform identification and through the level of decay of his remains, they purposely chose a man who would have been a memeber of the original British Expiditionary Force. Also the flag over the coffin belonged to a padre who had carried it with him throughout the war and was stained with the blood of British soldiers. It hangs today in Westminster Abbey.
God love the Brits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
