Did they stop when they couldn't get a rocket off the ground? Nope. They didn't stop when the Apollo I crew died. They didn't stop when Challenger or Columbia exploded. All those are so much more serious than lack of money or manpower. NASA won't disappear
@806Noel No, it's just ending the space shuttle program because it costed far far beyond what they expected.... they are studying a new "shuttle" that will be called Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, very similar to the Orion Capsule, which will carry 4 astronauts for missions max 21 days long. but nasa is studying projects to the solar system human exploration, and admin charles bolden said that the american space exploration program will continue for at least 50 years
What an era. Now to other planets. And here we go. Someone's coming out with new ideas to make it to mars and other planets. We will get there one day we wil. Good old John Glenn.
Lets hope the last Shuttle makes it and does have a major malfunction like others before it. I am just glad Werner Von Brown was not here to witness the Challenger and Columbia disasters. I was not bad management that caused these disasters it was bad design from the start.
The moon is going to get hit by a planet on July. This shall cause the moon to break and meteors to fall to earth. Before the meteors hit earth, the rapture will happen. PLEASE GET SAVED THERE IS NOT MUCH TIME LEFT I BEG OF YOU SEEK JESUS NOW!!!!!!!
Great video. I worked on Columbia at KSC from '79 to '81 then set up Shuttle Products Int'l to sell space related promotional items like t-shirts, medallions, patches, etc.
Our STS-135 t-shirt is awesome and setting sales records..go to shuttleproducts. com to check it out. We'll be set up during the launch all over Brevard County.
@CommanderHeather Spacevidcast did (@bencredible to be specific) and about a day... Although a lot of the time was put in to tweaking the audio. Thank you for the kudos!
Does anyone know when the next Falcon9 launch is? Shuttle should have ended back in 92. Its cost both in lives and money from the taxpayer was not worth it. I just wish we we figured this out faster like Russia did. We should have had a safe low cost system like a upgraded Titan II / Gemini or Atlas rocket with a simple capsule.
@Bigmaninsky It is royalty free music created by Tim McMorris (I absolutely love his work). You can download it at audiojungle . net /item/movie-trailer-credits-intro/156037 or if YouTube decides to mangle the URL search Google for 'Tim McMorris Movie Trailer Credits Intro' and it should be the top hit.
I hope that everyone who has lost a loved one during the STS era knows the advancement of modern science and our understanding of the cosmos that has been achieved because of the STS program. Of the 30 or so people who have given their lives in the pursuit of space travel, I thank you for your service. -An average citizen of Earth.

No more shuttles and with no clear answer on its replacement.
No more Hubble or any services to it with the axe hanging over its successor, the Webb telescope.
No more plans to return to the moon and beyond.
