  • Mike, I think we should spread this out in order to identify the faces and how they are doing now, to make a comparison and perhaps follow up....may be the local media will pay some attentions to this and arouse their interests to follow up....? :-) thanks for sharing, you are my hero Mike!

  • @eatsee. Very seldom I get responses from people who appear in my clips. So far two or three have been identified. I have to rely viewers. So far more than a million people from HK have seen my clips, but most have them report that their parents lived at the time the films were made and that they were too young to remember.

  • wow 我嘅年代-天台小學

  • Oh.......I was 4 in 1978........

  • whoa,where did u find this clip?it's cool!

i'd better ask my mom to see this, cus my mom was like 18 at that time:D

  • Sir do you know these families personally?

  • @connie59do . I wish I did. I seldom hear of people portrayed in my clips. I should love to hear how they are doing now! As to my older films of HK in the early fifties, it is sad but most people seen are not alive anymore.

  • The jammed room reminds me of our first shelter in W. Germany after flight 1945!

  • Sir, you have so many good vids. Thanks for sharing!

  • em, I agree with hydehk, the words for "children" are preferably written as "兒童" in Hong Kong, which is the full script, it has been the standard in the past 2000 years.

儿童, the current title, is in simple script, which were "created" by the CCP in China in 1950s, characters like those were quite unpopular in Hong Kong, as it was mostly used by peasant, the uneducated and Communists at the time (and arguable even now) , that's why it is odd to see it associated with HK-related video.

  • @watercolour . Thanks. Good that you tell me. 'Simplified Chinese' is an option given by the translate section of Google. I had no idea of its background. May be I should change characters in other clips as well.

  • @MichaelRogge

    no worries ^^

such a great video collection you have got here mister.

  • @MichaelRogge

i saw that most of your clips only use the word 香港

And they are the same in traditional and simplify characters

  • @hydehk Thanks. That is a relief!

  • From 3:03 to 3:47 is the Victoria Park near the Sugar Street (糖街) exit. All those amusement facilities were gone long time ago.

  • we still prefer traditional Chinese characters

if u would change the title, here are the characters:) 香港兒童

  • @hydehk Thanks. I can't read chinese characters. I have followed your and other viewers' advice and changed the characters.

  • @MichaelRogge
