  • i should probably not get this, I'd sit around playing with effects until I starved to death.

  • My only question with the product is, when using it without an instrument running into it, how does the vocoder know what to scale and pitch to bend your voice too? I'm really thinking hard about buying this and selling my TC Helicon Correct.

Any feedback would be really appreciated!

  • @MyFairMoonMusic you set it to a scale, chord or tone. For example for the reflex tune, you can set it to Dm, and it will give you the chromatic scale for Dm. On the robo or drones works kind of the same way, except that it only gives you 1 tone. you can set it to B, but you'll be singing just in B.

  • bought this item after seeing your video =D also made a slightly less accurate version of it haha but with delay and (rather lame) beatbox and stuff :) I've already send a video response to you :)

  • Great demo - just what I needed thanx

  • @red3chilli hahahahahaha!!! Dude I started cracking up when I came to your comment and now I can't stop laughing. I didn't think it was a bad demo myself, it shows what the product does. I can't help but hear "this is the worst demo of anything ever" along with everything this guy says and plays through this thing. I seriously can't stop laughing. Thanks man, I needed that.

  • Have you ever tried to get a female voice that sounds pretty natural? Is it possible with this tool?

  • I'm curious as to the differences between this and the EHX Voice box ??

  • @SONGSTICKS A voice box is a speaker in a box. You run your input of your guitar into the speakers that have been sealed off in a chamber. Then a hole is drilled into the chamber and a tube is inserted. An airtight seal is then made around the tube. When you play the guitar the speakers send the signal up the tube into your mouth. You then can manipulate your notes al la framptonish sounds, but you need another amp and a separate mic to mic your mouth signal.

  • @shredabilly13

I know what you're referring to, but I meant the other EHX unit called "voice box".( The blue one )

Actually..as it happens.. I've been looking at the Danelectro Talk box on ebay..quite fancy a Frampton bash.

Thanks for your reply though..much appreciated.

    Cheers

  • That was a really neat demo... I am thinking about getting this thing!

  • @amourdutigre i got it and i used it like a talk box

  • I'm You Father hahaha

  • would i be able to use this with a guitar alone and no mic just for the effect on the guitar?

  • will this work with just a guitar?

  • thank you

    your videos are awesome dude

    ;)

  • This is the worst demo of anything ever

  • nice demo of product....10/10

  • @techstyle123 thank you !

  • Ahahahaha This was a fantastic demo b/c you kept it fun AND practical.

I'm a RABID Auto-Tune hater and analog guitarist to the DEATH...but Dammit...this is one fine freak out tool for composing and commanding attention.

There goes another $200 from this weeks check!!!

  • do the barry white song!

  • cynic, and obscura, two metal bands that use a vocoder check them out.

  • here you just see another one who does not know how to use a vocoder properly.

this is a 256!!band vocoder, and it sounds like 4 band!

    annoying!

A clean guitar is absolutely not the sound to feed into this, and screw that silly robot effect.

YOU CAN REACH ABSOLUTELY NATURAL BEAUTIFUL RESULTS WITH THIS MAGIC PEDAL!!!!

    go see some tutorials mate

  • @MoveOverCasanova - I am a recording artist , who wishes the incorporate vocoded effects into his songs. what are the tutorials that you are reffering to?

    what would you suggest?

you can check out my songs by clicking on the url website icon in my youtube profile

    thanks!

  • @MoveOverCasanova - how could an experience user like yourself, fully take advantage of the 256 bands of vocoding....as opposed to these neophytes?

  • @novanine9

i take full advantage of it by feeding as much harmonics (for example a synth string) into it as possible

  • @MoveOverCasanova - thnx for responding.

what about the individual bands would I need to know...

I hear about bands this and bands that...what does it all mean?

    OH BY THE WAY...

I am a recording artist...you can check out my original songs by clicking on the WEBSITE URL icon located in the bio section of my youtube profile channel, here.

    Thnks again - B

  • @novanine9

    you mean bands using vocoder?

well, take ALAN PARSONS´ "THE RAVEN", or PINK FLOYD "SHEEP", or MIKE OLDFIELD "SHEBA"etc. etc.

    ---

the trick with bandfilters is simple: the more bands, the better the understandability of the voice.

Just make sure you play instr. with much overtone (slightly distorted guitar, string or lead synth...), i.o. that the filter has something to work with!!

clean git or piano are too smooth signals that the filter gets no "grip" on so to say.

    martin

  • @MoveOverCasanova - Martin, thanks so much for the info.

Actually....the info regarding bands of both examples were of immense usefulness.

I, did initially, meant the filter bands, but I checked out the songs and artists that you referred me to...GREAT ARTISTS...

Alan Parsons and Pink Floyds have new meaning to my ears, nowadays.

    thanks again.

  • @MoveOverCasanova - thanks so very much for the awesome info!

That was so cool of you to do so. More bands the better and complex the voice...

preferably a complex signal with good overtones and tangent timbres so as to give the vocals something to grip onto...some depth of character....

    got it....why can't everything be so simple...lol?

    You're great! - B

  • @novanine9

you sound a bit sarcastic -- but i mean that´s it, and about the bands, what is there to say?

they are all the same kind of bandpasses working at various frequencies. and like a 2 band EQ gets "worse" results than a 30band EQ! (though of course in some cases a less clear signal can be cooler)

BTW i could send you a little vocoder-demo i recorded if you have a postbox or something?!

  • @novanine9

p.s.: sorry, of course you didn´t mean "bands", but band-passfilters. )),

anyway, if you do not know the songs i mentioned, give ´em a try, they´re perfect examples of excellent, subtle use of vocoders sounding very much like ours (the EH is a small, simple, but terrific one!!)

  • En lugar de im your father, quedaba mejor ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US lololol
