While I agree that there is a lot of bad Japanese animation out there, you shouldn't make generalizations. There is a lot of crap in most cinematic genres. Besides, it seems many of the popular movies nowadays are influenced by Japanese film and animation.
Animatrix creeped me out. I wish I found the score from the movie gun shy that was brilliant.
