My thoughts on Tarantino: he is an absolute master film maker. I own quite a few of his films and enjoy re-watching them; yet he's so meta, so into film for its own sake, the a master of the "homage". But there is one thing he has not matched his idols like Kurosawa in ... making a personal and meaningful film. Where is Tarantino's "Ran"? (Does he need one?)

In case there's anybody here new to QT, trying to get a sense of his stuff: They all rule...including Inglourous Basterds, which is not featured in this montage. But WARNING: Don't rent the extended version, single film Death Proof. Watch the one that is the second part of the Grindhouse two-in-one. The single version is just an extra hour of crap. It's okay, but it's the closest Quentin has ever come to sucking, in my opinion.

Building up the main characters and them killing them worked pretty well in Psycho, but not quite so much in Death Proof.
