I have been trying to find a perfect fool proof chiffon cake recipe for many years and I finally found it! :D If I could hug you, I would! Thank YOU!!!
I failed on my pandan cake because I didn't strain the Pandan leaves and juice, I grind the leaves and water together then straight dump into the mixture. Stupid me! hahaha
traditional pandan cake should not contain any green colouring. You shoud put more pandan leaves to get a stronger pandan flavour and genuine green hue.
hello your recipe really works very well you know I paid to learn lesson but I tried few times couldn't sucess in making a nice pandan chiffon cake. BUT after tried your recipe I sucessfully made a very nice texture pandan chiffon cake. You are great to share this recipe and show the step so clearly to learn. I would like to said Billion thanks to you .

when whisking the egg whites from the beginning to the end of stiff peaks, how many minutes approximately, especially during stiff peak time? did anyone else have problems with lumps when cake flour was added? I did... had to strain it and used a spoon to press out the clumps. please tell me if I did anything wrong...
Hello, yes, I do add green coloring as well to achieve a darker color. Honestly the coloring doesn not alter the taste of your cake.. So you can add it bit by bit until you get the color you want but pls minimize this action as stirring will destruct the volume of the cake esp aft egg white is added. (:
Hello, I use coconut milk from a can. For stronger flavor, do not shake the can at all. Just use a can-opener to open it and scope the concentrated coconut that forms on the top of the can cover and on the top of the liquid. (:
Here are what I think may be the problem + solution:
1) Inappropriate size of the baking tube pan. You need to use a 18-cm one if you are following my recipe. If smaller, the mixture will have "nowhere" to go but to rise too high.
2) Flour. I use cake flour for this recipe. Avoid self-raising flour, for example, as it will rise too much. (:
Hope it helps you. Let me know how it works out for you ya.
Hello, with my experience, it shouldn't rise 4 times. Probably just double the volume of the final mix. By right, it should sink when it is cooling but not when it is browning though..

Hey there, yes, a mini oven for a kitchen not too big. Haha. I guess this is what my parents can offer me at the moment. You bet I will have one HUGE oven when I have a house of my own. Haha. Thanks for dropping by anyway. (:
I have to say that even the making of the cake with my 4 year old daughter was pure enjoyment, and not to mention the outcome. I did actually make a roulade out of it and put some chocolate spreading, but the texture and the colour and taste of your pandan cake was there. Thank you again!
Hello, I am so glad that you had fun baking it! I baked the pandan cake again over the weekend too and would be posted up pictures! Have a great week ahead!
I got my Pandan leaves by growing them myself long time ago. Well thanks to my grandmother I have the plant ^^

helukitty 1 year ago
@helukitty I think you are supposed to avoid that as it can affect it from rising.

Hi Whitesheepbrowncow
Great video here and thankyou for sharing. I wonder if I can put in greentea leave powder instead of pandan.
Taijar 2 years ago
Yes, I'm sure you can use green tea flavor instead. Then it'll be green tea chiffon! Good luck!

And coconut milk is a must in this recipe.

I heard from my mom you have to overturn it when you took the cake out from the oven until it cools completely.
