Mary Ellen Copeland's Wellness Recovery Action Plan can help everyone living with a mental illness to find the path to recovery using their own lived wisdom in a process of sharing with their peers. This plan does not tell you that you can not use certain tools, you use what works for you. What we need is HOPE and trust in ourselves. You draw up a plan for your day . You create a strategy for dealing with the difficult days. You choose the supports that work for you. No Rock Stars-No Gurus
I suffered from depression for about 20 years. I "cured" myself. I know my way won't work for everyone but I would say. 1. listen to inspirational recordings (Les Brown was one favorite), exercise rigorously, 2. do Tony Robbins 30-day personal program, esp. the first 2 weeks, 3. figure out what is it that you are keeping yourself from doing. Depression results from holding yourself back from what you feel you should, but can't, do. (My theory) Read studies on how depression is induced in animals
I was depressed for a time but it wasn't sadness. It was more a feeling of not caring about anything or anyone or myself. I came out of it by going to a different city when a hurricane hit and getting a change of environment. Change of scenery, change of environment worked for me and it was quite by accident.
If you're depressed or bipolar is because you have not figured out what you truly are. Know thyself and you will be healed. I've cured myself from at least 5 incurable diseases.
Bipolar & Schizophrenia are the result of chemical imbalances in the brain. These people in this video spoke many words but really said nothing of any value at all. Their website is also pathetic, too much flowery talk & no answers to relevant questions.
There is still no clinical tests that show any chemical imbalances. Maybe that website may not be the solution for you. If you or someone you love is suffering from bipolar, depression, schizophrenia or any other mental disorder, I always recommend TrueHope. It's not the only solution, but they have a great support group, and they helped my wife get off medications. All she takes now is anutritional supplement called E.M.Power Plus, and it's been working great for her.
I don't know about that. I myself have bipolar & i have had MRI scans cuz they wanted to confirm that I indeed have bipolar 7 they said yup you got it. But, I just can't believe that theres nothing I can do about it, meaning that I'll be on meds all my life. I'll take a look at the site. I agree with you that there are people that have cured themselves of these mental aliments. I honestly just am so scared to stop taking my meds. I went into the psych ward once & am terrified to go back.
ya I know. like I said tho, I'm terrified to lose it again & go back to the psych ward. As far as I'm concerned those places will break you not help you, they did me.
The biggest change in my life was by following a truly traditional diet a book called (Nourishing Traditions) led me back to better mental health and on top of it I love the food. Its how we were ment to eat.
The trend seems to be that when certain viewpoints are wrong, a given set of people or institutions can't correct it on their own. Rather there needs to be a complete collapse before there is a chance to see the light.
i thought doctors make more money with more labels so if its just the same can we get sum of are money back and what about those happy pills that dont work, oh sorry i am suppose to dispose of them in the toilet. the label and who benifits most
where everyone can have access to the pill......................................................................
5:20...oops! Her Attention Deficit kicked in...just kidding...honestly, when she started speaking about being so depressed she couldnt leave the house, catatonic, sitting around the house smoking cigarettes wondering how the dishes were going to get done...did she have a job, friends, hobbies...something to get her out and keep her busy? That is a good start-a support system...even before psych counseling.
step 1: Depressed? find a hobby, etc. Something to make your life more interesting.
I can relate to this due to my current situation. Its hard to break the ice with people, but you get to a point where you no longer care that much what anybody will think of you for trying and you make it your absolute intention to do the best you can.
Indeed. I wasn't necessarily advocating the deletion of his post (though often I've deleted similar posts from my own channel), but attention seeking boobs like him are best ignored, even if their posts are a tremendous eyesore where all caps words replace actual arguments and content.
dackjaniels is a scientology freak!!!! He probably has a Tom Cruise shrine somewhere in his creepy lil house.. Fuck you! lol lol lol lol fucking jackass..
So your saying that your against giving people with mental illness medication? What you gonna do, march around with your signs and advocate against psychiatry like a jackass? "PSYCHIATRY IS EVIL!" LOL Really and truly, people who are against psychiatry dont make any sense. Its no evil scheme to turn people into robots or anything I dont see why all the problems and commotions are taking place with it... Hey guys, Hes a scitzophrenic, dont give him meds. its evil> okie dokie then, thats retarted.
The issue is not that medication is evil; it is that psychiatric drugs are not based on empirical evidence. There is simply no evidence that verifies the claims made by the manufacturers of these drugs. In other words, it is purely speculative. Imagine if you went to a physician for a consultation and, after about 15 minutes of questioning, he declares that you have cancer and require aggressive chemotherapy. This is essentially what modern psychiatrists do: they prescribe drugs without testing.
It doesnt matter... Its far more legit to give someone medication, THEN to just sit around and doing nothing about it... Get over it.. Quit crying about it... Its no big deal... lol
It may not be important to you, but these drugs have been known to cause considerable and in some cases irrevocable damage. I know from first hand experience. Come to me after you have been unwillingly drugged for nearly a decade and tell me that this is not a serious matter. It is this sort of flippant disregard for truth that hurts so many people.
Quite simply, drugs were imposed on me at around the age of seven. I was raised in a very dysfunctional household, and thus acted out in school. The school basically forced my parents into taking me to a psychiatrist (no attempts at therapy of family counseling were made) I was immediately put on about four or so different drugs and was forced into a children's psychiatric hospital, wherein I was subjected to even more drugging. Does that seem pleasant to you? I was lucky; others had it worse.
No, doesnt seem to pleasant lol... But that was the schools fault. And the psychiatrist.. I'm sure there are some good ones out there.... But who knows... Some sorta hardcore documentry needs to be made about mental illness and psychiatry... The good and the bad.. And throw some scientology in there as well. exuse my spelling... its very shitty.... Something needs to be done.. i dont think psychiatry is as crazy as people make it out to be... its all about trying to get a person back to normal
There are a couple of good documentaries online, but I unfortunately can't recall the names.
I'm not denying that people need help; I certainly needed help in those days. What I'm against is baseless drugging.
A psychiatrist prescribes drugs after about 30 minutes (at most) of questioning. There are absolutely not tests to determine whether or not there is indeed a chemical imbalance. What these pills do is tamper with brain chemistry.
