Respectfully, he was and is a terrible driver, in his professional career starting from 1994 in F3, he has amassed 8 wins, didn't won any titles, domestic or foreign, apart from a local kart championship. Team's shouldn't be allowed to put someone with so few qualities in one of their cars! And @azo112 in order to get your super race licence (for F1) you have to complete 1250 miles of testing, and there was a time when you had to have won at least an F3 or equivalent title to be granted one.
@texaspete1986 nice information mate but perfomance is never a factor nowdays in f1, see many drivers they jump in the car because they have sponsorships..obviously you can see good drivers that deserve to be in f1 and they are not but thats the sport sometimes you can see drivers knowing well team owners and people ariiving to f1..dont forget that everyone of those are professionals they are fast drivers it doesnt mean that if they are not going well that they are crap.
@texaspete1986 About the testing you said before, remember that this team was launched in february 2006 and the first race was at march it was difficult anyways to do this miles, also see their economic situation they tested an arrows 02 model in an airport:P then they tested for the first time their car at bahrain, and in the mid season in hockenheim they brought a car which was able to do races. All these are just my opinion not an offence ;)
you know he needed time dont forget he had no testing at all, although kobayashi had no testing but he was flying still i like this driver because he was doing crazy things on track and entertained us but in japan as i know he is a very good driver.f1 is another case you cant judge a driver without giving him time, and nice vid also jim.
Wasn't very good in F1! He is the only driver since who lost his FIA super license! but still it's greatful video. someone have to memorize all red laterns too.
And you valid your actions by creating a tribute to a driver who has proved nothing????Super GT is nothing, when he proves himself in f1, then your tribute will be justified...
I'm sorry JimShumacher, but not having any expirience in F1 is no excuse to be such a shit driver. Nobody has any expirience in Formula One when they debut, but many go on to win races, and some even win championships!
There is a difference between having no racing experience in F1 and having no driving experience. The fact is that Ide only had one free practice session before Bahrain. Most drivers drive thousands kilometers before the first GP (look at Hamilton or Buemi for example).
As if that wasn't enough Ide had a very very shitty car. Sato's one was far better. As SAF1 had no time to make Ide's seat, he had Frentzen's one from 2002!
Excuses, Excuses, Excuses! Frentzens seat, a showcar what next. If you can find a realiable source of this infromation, then I will believe you. But before that, dream on...
For the show car I only read that on a forum so I'm not sure (and I didn't say I was sure) but for Frentzen's seat make a search on Google and you'll find a lot of results.
But as you seem to not be able to think another thing that "he is shit", so stay thinking he is a shit.
Woah! Hold on there. I don't think he is shit, I just think he is a shit F1 driver. He is actually quite good in sports cars. And no, he didn't have a different car, it was exactly the same as Sato's, unless you have some evidence too back your crazy theroie up.
Don't speak when you don't know. Ide's and then Montagny's cars were at least 10 kg heavier than Sato's one. Sato has the latest improvements on his car, which was not the case of Ide.
ide didn't belond in formula one and it's a shame that he had to humiliate himself like that. F1 drivers are the finest in the world and ide just wasn't meant to be one of them...
he was utter crap in f1 lasted only 4 races till the FIA stopped his super licience after rubbish racing and caused albers to roll at imola on the first lap
It's true that he was very bad in F1. But the conditions were shitty for him.
I think he can't be judged only over his F1 career. Look the wonderful race he made in the last 1000km of Suzuka! He would have won if he had no mechanical problems. I hope he'll win somes races this season.
people come on, it was the lowest budget f1 team compared with others

But, to be fair, I think he has not the right level for F1. I just think he could have done much better in better conditions.
JimSchumacher 3 years ago
Moreover, I read that in Australia, SAF1 had to bring a show car of the 2002 Arrows for Ide!
How do you want to do something good in these conditions?
