Love what they did with this song. Even though this song was made back in the 80's, it still sounds contemporary (to me it does). But, love the harmonizing at the end. That sounds amazing:)
Agree with koolkids02. Awesome performance after 25 years. The "blend" is still there. Must get on tour to spread the word in song. Brought back fondest memories of when I use to turn the turntable. May God continue to pour out HIS richest blessings to you. I was truly blessed.
I remember hearing this years ago...their sound is reminiscent of Breath of Life when Walter Arties & co. were singing....I know you all remember the Salt Song....? Thanx for posting...

Having attended a live concert by this group off campus of now Oakwood University, I recall the very night a few of us students came back to campus. It caused quite quite a musical stir and heated debate about music back in the dorm! This album has withstood the test of time and sounds quite contemporary even now. Smooth jazz on this tune! Kudoos to Mervyn a musical visionary and pioneer.
Even Before Take 6 in 1985,The Upper 3 voices(Claude,Mark ,Mervyn)and the 2 ladies had such a tight knit harmony.I mean*precision*vocals reminiscent of Manhattan Transfer but even tighter and more soulful. Would be nice if They would get back together again and release a CD.From the video that Ive seen (30 years later)in 2010,Claude,Mark and the 2 ladies (Sans Mervyn) sang this song which that haven't sung together in that time and *STILL*were on point.
Hey, I've really been enjoying the (ahem!) collection. We don't really get alot of this here in London UK, and I share the frustration of those who cannot find the music anywhere to buy. They kinda remind me of another group, Naturally 7. Have you heard of them?
A Special Blend is a precision group, no doubt. But I would like to give props to Quita, for Her efforts in complimenting the excellent music, with beautiful backdrop scenery. Thank You Quita! Well done.
