are you playing this in standard tuning or open tuning? If open, what key? It sounds really good. I've been in the Downey studio where it was recorded and it is one of my all time fave instrumentals.

Just get something like a Strat HSS, with a humbucker and single coils. Best of both worlds, without the Gibson nametag/price

Yeah but you really want a single coil on the bridge.
Split humbuckers, while expensive have probably been the best investment I made on my SG.
