@ironhorzmn You obviously live in la-la-land!There are people coming forth on a daily basis who served for shadow organisations working for the state. And the way things are unfolding right before our eyes tell the obvious, but it's people like you who walk through life with eyes wide SHUT!You just need to do some in depth research, because you sound like the farmer who knows only his plow!In your case cartoons!lol!
Typical conspiracy theorists. Throw shit up against the wall and see if it sticks. Make wild, reckless, outrageous and baseless claims without an ounce of proof...the bigger the lie, the better.
Throw around words like 'MK-ULTRA', 'FEMA camps' 'contrails' and, of course, 'Halliburton' without any idea of whereof they speak.
Then when people challenge their bullshit call them tools of the one-world government or some other similar crap.
THE SHOCK DOCTRINE is true and Klein, along with Chomsky, is one of the great intellects of our time. I can't wait for her next book! Keep 'em comin! Kim
The message of the video and her theory of shock doctrine, when applied to itself leads to the conclusion both the video and her theory are just as guilty of using such tactics...those that accept it are part of the mindless drones that give the masses such bad names!
If any conscious left in anyone he or she will know this is a tool of the many the capitalism is using to achieve its Ideal world and that is global control (a global centralized capitalism system).
And you show the obvious propaganda for the younger more nieve students who seek these sights to try to obtain some free thinking..to talk about the obvios problems..set there minds to the future the present..your shock fire v fire was quite good..human nature hunt and gather survival of the fittest ..man will do any thing when family is concerned..if the world is a family a family needs a mother and a father..we have come so far its just time a few hundred gens ahead we will look savage.
Along with John Perkins, Confessions of an economic Hit Man and virtually everything by Chomsky, this is the best book on global economics I have read
What a "shock"ingly stupid doctrine that involves an economic illiterate presenting of much her time taking down a strawman. There is shock in the US and that is the shock from the left for financial repression and even bigger government which means more subsidies and corporatism.
Competition in a political economy of a Market system of artificial scarcity that perpetuate the conditions of the wage slavery of immense humanity for the abstract process of Capital accumulation and concentration is INSANE,NEGATIVE,DESTRUCTIVE,DEHUMANISING,DEVALUING,DISTORTING OF ALL LIVING VIBRATION. By sharing the Earth in cooperation for our common needs and well being we shall transcend and bring about a new paradigm of Oness negating the destructive legacy of CLASS,MONEY,STATE
@Maxx4446 Lenin and Mao were political modernisers of their respcective backward , agrarian and politically aoutocratic countries, they used socialist terminology to carry out State dictated technological change to catch up with European Capitalism and they have as China is the 2nd biggest economy in the world. As if I am related well I use Socialist terms for its true purpose, to bring about a world majority democratic movement to share the Eath for our common needs and well being.
Russia and China never did catch up with Europe and America. I wonder why. China's growth over the last couple decades have come after some capitalist reforms. You know those evil companies like Nike that have come in and paid many times the salary that the Moa ever paid.
Before capitalism came along, people worked 80 hour weeks. People were lucky to reach the age of 30. If they did, they were likely missing most of their teeth. Most people were slaves with an average income of zero. Of course capitalism may not be so good if you are a slave master or dictator, or if you are someone who enjoys the impoverishment of the masses. What am I unaware of?
@mintoo2cool have you even read the shock doctrine?
@ everyoneelse youtube disallowed me from making the comment i would have liked to on this page. it kept saying error - i think i was being filtered by a 'profit-protection' robot.
@mintoo2cool i've spent twenty years coming to my hasty conclusions regarding corporate crime and it's impact on the world's most vulnerable people. the tiny investor class create misery world-wide without a flicker of conscience or a second thought. i suggest you watch 'the corporation' and develop some critical analysis of international capitalism rather than spending your time reassuring yourself that all is right with the world you live in when it is so clearly, and hideously inequitable.
i have read the corporation by Joel Bakan. its a book criticizing the corporatism. what amazes me is the fact that in your "20 years" of research, you still have not understood the difference between concept of corporatism and the concept of free market. if you really are impressed by miss kleins book, i can understand what an intellectual heavyweight you really are and how clearly you can think. actually just seeing how you tried to "prove your point" by hurling insults at me tells a lot.
@mintoo2cool if i wanted to hear the echo-chamber of mainstream media rubbishing this thoroughly well researched book which appeals to the common sense of anyone with a servicable intelligence and or conscience, i'd be inclined to look to Bill O'Reilly, Shaun Hannity et al as sources of useful information.
i understand why neo-liberal apologists like yourself are so desperate to defend our brutal, corrupt and flawed system but i'm not fooled.
@MustafaBiggun good luck with your quest of making and finding your utopia. your immensely smug attitude shows that your mind is closed, so its of no use to converse with you. by the way, its really pretty amazing that you started researching about the free markets and corporations and capitalism from the age of 10.
@MustafaBiggun before coming to some hasty conclusion, you should watch "Johan Norberg vs. Naomi Klein" .. search for "Johan Norberg vs. Naomi Klein" in youtube and watch it
@rickbar123 All i wanted to do was to ecourage thinking and debate, you don't even know me so don't call me a lap dog for the rich, it's rude to insult people. you don't even know my mother
i would like to see her make a simiilar video in mainland china , they'd cut off her boobs ... stupid bitch ... she does not realize that it is because of minimum government regulation that she has this freedom of speech with which she is targeting milton friedman
@rickbar123 i dont and i dont know who beck is ... friedman was all for individual freedom and liberty ... not undertaking a psychology warfare on the citizens of US. he wanted minimum government intervention in everything ... who runs the fuckin CIA ? government . and friedman was against the government ...
@mintoo2cool "Individual Freedom" is code for the corporate world. It means- The workers stand apart from each other. The corporation must then be fought by the worker alone, by him or herself. The "Individual" will never win. "Liberty" means shit when under the heal of the corporation.
@rickbar123 what friedman would have personally wanted was to have hundreds of small scale businesses instead of a few large corporations. he would never speak in terms of institutions .. he would speak in terms of people within the institutions ... he was not against anything that individuals wanted to do ... he was not against unions ... he was not for unions ... he was like if workers voluntarily want to create unions the government and corporation should let them ..
@rickbar123 no they have not been tried. because as the corporation grows bigger, it seems to gain unfair influence from the gov and the corporation exerts its influence on the gov to grow and further strengthen its monopoly ... this is not free-market ... in a free market the gov would not have any say on which competitor comes in or who has an advantage.
@rickbar123 what do you mean by "corporation must then be fought by the worker alone" , why do people always assume that corporations do nothing but evil and they always need to be fought.
@rickbar123 dream on ... your utopia can never be found ... people are greedy and selfish by nature ... no one has peoples interest in mind ... not even gandhi ... everyone works in his self interest only ... if man stopped pursuing his self interest and started to think of peoples interests before their own, all progress would stop.
@rickbar123 miltons free market has been tried in singapore and hongkong perfectly ... there is no gov regulation there whatsoever and it is one of the most developed placed in the world ... the most progressive thriving place to be ... it was as if HK and singapore had no effect by the economic downturn
@mintoo2cool look at the free market in russia, how well did that work out? the GDP of russia just got back to where it was when the USSR collapsed. Also there is far more inequality, so the average person's standard of living has not returned to where it was in 1991 under communism.
@mintoo2cool Yet you can't own land there, and the government set up and operates the stock market. Most of Hong Kong's revenue comes from land leases to companies and individuals, which allows them to provide social services and infrastructure with relatively low tax rates compared to the rest of the world.
They also have one of the most unequal populations in the world. There is virtually no social mobility there, so if you're poor in HK (and a LOT of people are), you're fucked.
@mintoo2cool He wanted minimum goverment intervention when it came to letting the corporate do what the fuck it wanted to do. If the corporation wanted to sell you shit in a can, it was ok by him. When the stupid public woke the fuck up and saw it was buying shit in a can, it would stop. Unless they could BS you into still buying it.
@rickbar123 no, he wanted minimum government intervention in any case .he did not want government to favour any corporation ... he against cryster bail out in 1980s ... he wanted it to go bankrupt instead of gaining favour of the government ... he wanted open competition, meaning that no one corporation had the abiltiy to produce "shit". he was like no corporation can make people buy shit if they dont want to. he told people not to be frivolous and buy shit , that was the way to fight inflation
@rickbar123 yeah ... and nobody should be forced to buy those cars... and if people dont want to buy crysters cars ... then crystlers should have gone out of business... it did not ... why? because of the gov ... dont blame the market ... blame gov intervention.
@rickbar123 "So who forced people to buy those cars after the bail out ?? " like you yourself said ... no one ... why chrysler was bailed out was simply because the gov favour-ism ... which is against the free-market principle ... no one is still forcing people to buy chrysler.. no one can ...
@rickbar123 So "who forced people to buy those cars after the bail out ?? " no one ... my point is not on buying the car ... its on bailing the company out ... my point is that gov bailed out ... and free market thinkers condemned this ...
@rickbar123 it was gov policy ... the fed kept the borrowing rate of interest too low ... the wall street people started burrowing carelessly because of this ... had the fed increased interest rate high, this would have never happened . the bail out of bank was the proof that gov intervention in market is not minimum. according to freemarket rules , they should have been let go bankrupt, but they did not. BP disaster was because of min gov ? how?
@mintoo2cool The rate was kept low to keep the economy from failing. The housing market kept going when it should have floped. The Gov looked the other way for years. People were fired for bringing it up to the FTC. Those that told Clinton to look the other way were free market guys. Greenspan is the king of the free market school.
@rickbar123 economy from failing? he continued to keep interest rate low because he was afraid that 9/11 would cause foreign investors to loose confidence .. a huge mistake as per freemarket...and dont tell that greenspan was all for free market when he clearly was not..friedman has said it..harry binswanger has said it ... he himself has said it ... that though he admired Laissez-faire and felt that it was the best option .. he could not do want he wanted to do by the very design of the system
@rickbar123 just because you say its BS does not make it BS ... greenspan is an objectivist ... and he himself admitted that he could not walk on the philosophical guidelines of objectivism ... and he was critizised by many contemporary objectivists and free market thinkers alike ... read his books
@mintoo2cool Do you live in a cave. BP has lobbyed for less Gov control of their rigs and drilling for years (and won). Halliburton is in the middle of this as well in the fight for less Gov oversight on the rigs (they have won as well). In the next few months, you will hear a great deal about big corp have been paying off Gov to look the other way.
@rickbar123 firstly production and trade are to different things.secondly, the rig was not of BP it was of transocean ltd, if anyone blame them. so do you think that if gov was owning the rig,the accident would not have happened?bp has agreed to pay for the damages, just because the oil is BPs.and about the payoff. its the govs fault because they are accepting the bribe ... gov is created for serving the people not for accepting bribes. you yourself proved my point that gov is bad and ineffective
@mintoo2cool Gov looking the other way is a form of "Smaller Gov". The end result of looking the other way is fewer regulations. Another form of smaller Gov is putting those that work for industry in positions, in the Gov. Once in the Gov they use these positions to get fewer regulations. In the months to come this will come out. It is starting already.
@mintoo2cool They are not bribes, they are funding the next election. Thats why corporations are now considered a person. Let the funding of fewer regulations begin.
@rickbar123 why cant gov get funding from the people whom it represents ? whats stopping them from doing so? why cant you vote for people who did not take funds from big corps for their campaign ?
@rickbar123 again i say.that its the govs fault.judicial system is rightly within the govs power.the gov should bring the free market abusers to justice.instead of looking the other way or taking bribes.what i dont understand is why do you want to abolish a system just because of a few bad apples.there are 100s of 1000s of small businesses that are honest.its like because 1 guy rapes a girl.you would call all men as rapists and we all should have our dicks chopped off.
@mintoo2cool I have a bud, he is in the FBI. He calls it legal high jacking. Big corp gives big bucks to elections and laws are then written so that it is not a crime. I work in medicine and see it al day.
@rickbar123 so ... this legal high jacking takes place only because of the companies ? are you saying that its because the companies give "funds" to gov ... the gov has no other choice but to accept them ?
what you should be asking is that why does nt the gov try to gain powen without the aid of corporations? why isnt there any legislature that prohibits people to come into power for profit ? gov is for the people of the people ... dont allow gov and market and corporations to mix up
@rickbar123 since you have more or less kept yourself civil (except for the cave remark and drugs remark) i would like to explain to you how the freemarkets work in hongkong or singapore vs freemarkets in US
US:coal company -> its irresponsible -> coal mine blows up because of company negligence -> coal company pays off gov -> gov protects coal company from competition -> gov protects coal company from public -> public does not have choice but to work or buy coal from same company ->public angry
@mintoo2cool Free markets are comming to an end. That you can belive. Even here in America, the free markets are about to take a hit. It is only a matter of time. China's trade Reps shit their pants after the Wall Street melt down. They were sure the Gov would step in and rule the markets in favor of the masses. That ment no more exports for China.
@rickbar123 "China's trade Reps shit their pants after the Wall Street melt down. They were sure the Gov would step in and rule the markets in favor of the masses. That ment no more exports for China."
really? is that why the GDP growth of china was a little more than 10% just this quarter alone?
@rickbar123 and here is what would have happened if company were in hongkong or singapore
hongkong: coal company -> its irresponsible -> mine blows up because of negligence -> gov is neutral towards company -> people ask for compensation -> but company is bad so it refuses -> public outcry -> public boycotts the company and puts class action suit -> gov lets company fail because its neutral toward company -> a better more responsible company takes the place of the crooked company
@mintoo2cool No coal mines in HK or Singapore. The Gov in China would come down hard on the coal mine. The worker would turn to what is called a NGO for legal help. The courts in China would favor the dead workers family and they would collect. The coal mine would have a hard time finding workers and would have to improve. A public outcry could go either way- the Army would be called or the Gov would look the other way. No boycott, coal is the life blood of China's power needs.
i guess you just dont want to understand the underlying principle,do you?ok forget coal.consider fisheries. you see any problem with fisheries?? lets say a large fishing company owns a big fleet of fishing boats
in US: comp irresponsible -> fishing boats sink -> comp "pays off" gov to look other way -> protects comp from competition and class action suits from the fishermen.
in HK: comp irresponsible -> boats sink -> gov does not play favourite
in HK: comp irresponsible -> boats sink -> gov does not play favourite -> company gets boycotted by the public -> the public favors the competitor -> public puts a class action suit because of its behaviour -> comp now either has to put up its socks and work or go out of business ... this is what free market is all about ...you get rewarded for being responsible and get punished for making bad decisions ... for short term gains
what a hypocritical video. are you all shocked and awed by this? shocking people with these graphic settings and switching back and forth seemlessly from friedman quotes to torture guides. honestly? alfonso should know better. im not surprised by naomi though.
Now in Haiti we have about 10000 troops basically taking over the country. About 30Cts of every aid dollar goes to the troops, and about a nickle to the Haitians the other rest to NGO's that will start working when rebuilding is necessary, but not now. Also it is a pretty sweet deal for whoever will take over because with that coast line you can take advantage of one of the biggest oil reserves in the continent.
The debate about the rationality of consumer is still going on and I personally think that the assumption on peoples rationality at all time is just simply impossible. After studding economics for 8 years I can tell that consumers can make irrational decisions from time to time and these situation is taken advantage of by politicians and capital elites.

So Maxx if you read the book and watched the film, you obviously missed the point Naomi was making. Maybe you should read it again and realize that all of her facts lead to the same outcome: FREE MARKETS DON'T WORK!!!! They all lead to unemployment, poverty and privatisation. That means, Maxx, you have to pay for everything in society. This makes the divide between the rich and poor so polarizing, the middle class don't even exist. 10% rich 90% poor. You have no chance in society like this Maxx.
Right now I live in one of the most free market societies on earth. I work 20 hrs a week at about $13/hr and go to school. I own my own car, live in a nice fully furnished apartment, have a laptop computer with high speed internet, and have a gym membership. I have never recieved a scholarship, inheritance, or welfare. I pay for everything myself, and I have no debt. I am one of the poorest people in my country, and live a life of luxury.
Do a simple excercise, outside of books and theory. In the last century, ¿which countries have grown, and have now a better life quality for most of their citizens? ¿The socialists ones, or those with freedom and open markets? I don't think i need to answer this for you.
I agree with jdmay1 and say more. If in some countries some people receives a good wage like maxx, in other countries the people receives a unhuman wage. a lot of people in my country have to live with about U$250 per month. (and have to pay for house, light, water, food, transport and etc). Living cost is too high and the wage so low.
@jdmay1 yes you are right , besides private provision of public services in undeveloped countries doesnt work and dont forget the balance between free market and state
This video and Naomi Klein's book are one of the worst distortions of a man's ideas I have ever seen. This means That Naomi Klein is either ignorant of Milton Friedman's true beliefs, or she knows what he truely believes, but decides to slander and defame him anyways. In my opinion, this film is disgraceful.
That is a brilliant argument Judeasblue. From now on, instead of being open minded and thoughtful, I will call anyone who disagrees with me a dishonest idiot. The world needs more people like you.
@workergirls death to the only proven economical system that has improved qualiy of life for more people in the world than any other? is there greed in capitilism? yes but,any semi-cognitive individual knows that greed is not exclusive to capitilism
@shockwaveization at least in a free un-regulated society people are left with tools and means to fight such greed driven initiatives..think about russia-goverment controlled-pandemic corruption-no freedom for people to initiate change and those who tried where imprisoned, tortured and some even killed

I don't think shock treatment works. What really works quite well is good ole fashion ELECTROCUTION, yea that has a nice effect. I think if a big ole lightening bolt came down from space and fried the whole planet at once with a zillion volts, it would pretty much change things and we wouldn't have to worry about shit anymore.
I can't believe how much spin this has, I mean, you just take one or two unpopular phrase, take a cia handbook and make him seem like the devil. I do believe he is wrong beyond measure, but this isn't a very good comparative guide.
Sure, but this is only a youtube video, if you want you can get more info reading the books or searching on internet. Personally I think that the facts we are living this times ratify what the video says.
I actually have the book, and I think some of the example are very eye opening, such as the public school system in new orleans, the analysis of the pinnochet coup, and the collapse of the soviet union. But there are some examples which klein is not as good at explaining, such as the tienmen square example, or the falkland war chapter, and the worst is her trying to connect the cia test with economic movement, so while there are important points she made, it feels like a weak argument.
This video is a work of art, representing a larger whole of how war is waged and its lasting effects, by *any* nation. It is about human rights, which we all must honor and protect. How can you have your heads so far up your bums that everything looks like a Republican/Democrat issue? You have lost your ability to critically consume information.
The government IS the people. We're a huge majority with great collective wisdom but 'experts' like Friedman and and his cult followers want us to forget that and do as they say. They're frauds and criminals. They're serving their own interests, not ours. We need to interfere in OUR government and clean it up. It's infested with politicians and bureaucrats who have no conscience and no compassion. To hell with Las Vegas and Facebook. It's time to grow up and face reality.
@PRCadv3rsary I've read lots of history. Controlling types are prone to evil-doing. They act self assured so they're trusted. People believe "leaders" (Bush) who make them feel comfy and superior and promote greed, fear and hate = illegal invasion of Iraq. They enslave us with lies and illusions. The more arrogant we are, the more human rights violations we allow, e.g. Abu Ghraib, Patriot Act, Gitmo. That's the body politic. We are cells in it. We grew the monster and can kill it!
What she got wrong is that people usually DO NOT WANT GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE on their affairs. The rest may be true but she says people protested against a non-protectionits government. Some may have but not all! She claims such policies cause unemployment when in fact these policies CREATES new jobs. Just think about all the jobs created due to non-gov. interference from Las Vegas Shows to Facebook and YouTube
This video would be entertaining and even enlightening if it weren't so full of lies. First of all the only ones trying to use shock to push through an unpopular agenda is the Obama administration trying to rush through health care legislation, Cap and trade, a stimulus bill, auto take overs and numerous other things using the recession as an excuse. No wonder Rahm Emmanuel said that we should never let a crisis go to waste.
On it's own, this video and more importantly, the specific points mentioned, seem a little extreme. I will even say that some of them are an exaggeration, but if you analyze the main idea alone it doesn't sound so far feched. It would also help to read Michael Crighton's novel "State of Fear" to hear it explained from another perspective. Combined they take away a lot of the feeling of a conspiracy theory and make it amazingly enough, credible.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
"Friedman and his disciples" lol, "radical free market crusade". This video is a joke. Those people are all in socialist countries, protesting government...

MustafaBiggun 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool i've spent twenty years coming to my hasty conclusions regarding corporate crime and it's impact on the world's most vulnerable people. the tiny investor class create misery world-wide without a flicker of conscience or a second thought. i suggest you watch 'the corporation' and develop some critical analysis of international capitalism rather than spending your time reassuring yourself that all is right with the world you live in when it is so clearly, and hideously inequitable.
MustafaBiggun 1 year ago
i have read the corporation by Joel Bakan. its a book criticizing the corporatism. what amazes me is the fact that in your "20 years" of research, you still have not understood the difference between concept of corporatism and the concept of free market. if you really are impressed by miss kleins book, i can understand what an intellectual heavyweight you really are and how clearly you can think. actually just seeing how you tried to "prove your point" by hurling insults at me tells a lot.
mintoo2cool 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool if i wanted to hear the echo-chamber of mainstream media rubbishing this thoroughly well researched book which appeals to the common sense of anyone with a servicable intelligence and or conscience, i'd be inclined to look to Bill O'Reilly, Shaun Hannity et al as sources of useful information.
i understand why neo-liberal apologists like yourself are so desperate to defend our brutal, corrupt and flawed system but i'm not fooled.

@rickbar123 i dont and i dont know who beck is ... friedman was all for individual freedom and liberty ... not undertaking a psychology warfare on the citizens of US. he wanted minimum government intervention in everything ... who runs the fuckin CIA ? government . and friedman was against the government ...
mintoo2cool 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool "Individual Freedom" is code for the corporate world. It means- The workers stand apart from each other. The corporation must then be fought by the worker alone, by him or herself. The "Individual" will never win. "Liberty" means shit when under the heal of the corporation.
rickbar123 1 year ago
@rickbar123 what friedman would have personally wanted was to have hundreds of small scale businesses instead of a few large corporations. he would never speak in terms of institutions .. he would speak in terms of people within the institutions ... he was not against anything that individuals wanted to do ... he was not against unions ... he was not for unions ... he was like if workers voluntarily want to create unions the government and corporation should let them ..
mintoo2cool 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool Theory, theory, theory, theory. They have been tried, they have not worked. Even Mao tried the small scale business route and failed.
rickbar123 1 year ago
@rickbar123 no they have not been tried. because as the corporation grows bigger, it seems to gain unfair influence from the gov and the corporation exerts its influence on the gov to grow and further strengthen its monopoly ... this is not free-market ... in a free market the gov would not have any say on which competitor comes in or who has an advantage.
mintoo2cool 1 year ago
@rickbar123 what do you mean by "corporation must then be fought by the worker alone" , why do people always assume that corporations do nothing but evil and they always need to be fought.

rickbar123 1 year ago
@rickbar123 miltons free market has been tried in singapore and hongkong perfectly ... there is no gov regulation there whatsoever and it is one of the most developed placed in the world ... the most progressive thriving place to be ... it was as if HK and singapore had no effect by the economic downturn
mintoo2cool 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool look at the free market in russia, how well did that work out? the GDP of russia just got back to where it was when the USSR collapsed. Also there is far more inequality, so the average person's standard of living has not returned to where it was in 1991 under communism.
rring88 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool Yet you can't own land there, and the government set up and operates the stock market. Most of Hong Kong's revenue comes from land leases to companies and individuals, which allows them to provide social services and infrastructure with relatively low tax rates compared to the rest of the world.
They also have one of the most unequal populations in the world. There is virtually no social mobility there, so if you're poor in HK (and a LOT of people are), you're fucked.
jimmycrackedcorn225 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool He wanted minimum goverment intervention when it came to letting the corporate do what the fuck it wanted to do. If the corporation wanted to sell you shit in a can, it was ok by him. When the stupid public woke the fuck up and saw it was buying shit in a can, it would stop. Unless they could BS you into still buying it.
rickbar123 1 year ago
@rickbar123 no, he wanted minimum government intervention in any case .he did not want government to favour any corporation ... he against cryster bail out in 1980s ... he wanted it to go bankrupt instead of gaining favour of the government ... he wanted open competition, meaning that no one corporation had the abiltiy to produce "shit". he was like no corporation can make people buy shit if they dont want to. he told people not to be frivolous and buy shit , that was the way to fight inflation

@mintoo2cool Min gov is the cause of wall street and BP.
rickbar123 1 year ago
@rickbar123 it was gov policy ... the fed kept the borrowing rate of interest too low ... the wall street people started burrowing carelessly because of this ... had the fed increased interest rate high, this would have never happened . the bail out of bank was the proof that gov intervention in market is not minimum. according to freemarket rules , they should have been let go bankrupt, but they did not. BP disaster was because of min gov ? how?
mintoo2cool 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool The rate was kept low to keep the economy from failing. The housing market kept going when it should have floped. The Gov looked the other way for years. People were fired for bringing it up to the FTC. Those that told Clinton to look the other way were free market guys. Greenspan is the king of the free market school.
rickbar123 1 year ago
@rickbar123 economy from failing? he continued to keep interest rate low because he was afraid that 9/11 would cause foreign investors to loose confidence .. a huge mistake as per freemarket...and dont tell that greenspan was all for free market when he clearly was not..friedman has said it..harry binswanger has said it ... he himself has said it ... that though he admired Laissez-faire and felt that it was the best option .. he could not do want he wanted to do by the very design of the system

@mintoo2cool Do you live in a cave. BP has lobbyed for less Gov control of their rigs and drilling for years (and won). Halliburton is in the middle of this as well in the fight for less Gov oversight on the rigs (they have won as well). In the next few months, you will hear a great deal about big corp have been paying off Gov to look the other way.
rickbar123 1 year ago
@rickbar123 firstly production and trade are to different things.secondly, the rig was not of BP it was of transocean ltd, if anyone blame them. so do you think that if gov was owning the rig,the accident would not have happened?bp has agreed to pay for the damages, just because the oil is BPs.and about the payoff. its the govs fault because they are accepting the bribe ... gov is created for serving the people not for accepting bribes. you yourself proved my point that gov is bad and ineffective
mintoo2cool 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool Gov looking the other way is a form of "Smaller Gov". The end result of looking the other way is fewer regulations. Another form of smaller Gov is putting those that work for industry in positions, in the Gov. Once in the Gov they use these positions to get fewer regulations. In the months to come this will come out. It is starting already.
rickbar123 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool They are not bribes, they are funding the next election. Thats why corporations are now considered a person. Let the funding of fewer regulations begin.
rickbar123 1 year ago
@rickbar123 why cant gov get funding from the people whom it represents ? whats stopping them from doing so? why cant you vote for people who did not take funds from big corps for their campaign ?
mintoo2cool 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool Have you heard about the coal miners that died ????
Its another industry the Gov has looked the way on for years.
rickbar123 1 year ago
@rickbar123 again i say.that its the govs fault.judicial system is rightly within the govs power.the gov should bring the free market abusers to justice.instead of looking the other way or taking bribes.what i dont understand is why do you want to abolish a system just because of a few bad apples.there are 100s of 1000s of small businesses that are honest.its like because 1 guy rapes a girl.you would call all men as rapists and we all should have our dicks chopped off.
mintoo2cool 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool I have a bud, he is in the FBI. He calls it legal high jacking. Big corp gives big bucks to elections and laws are then written so that it is not a crime. I work in medicine and see it al day.
rickbar123 1 year ago

@rickbar123 "China's trade Reps shit their pants after the Wall Street melt down. They were sure the Gov would step in and rule the markets in favor of the masses. That ment no more exports for China."
really? is that why the GDP growth of china was a little more than 10% just this quarter alone?
mintoo2cool 1 year ago
@rickbar123 and here is what would have happened if company were in hongkong or singapore
hongkong: coal company -> its irresponsible -> mine blows up because of negligence -> gov is neutral towards company -> people ask for compensation -> but company is bad so it refuses -> public outcry -> public boycotts the company and puts class action suit -> gov lets company fail because its neutral toward company -> a better more responsible company takes the place of the crooked company
mintoo2cool 1 year ago
@mintoo2cool No coal mines in HK or Singapore. The Gov in China would come down hard on the coal mine. The worker would turn to what is called a NGO for legal help. The courts in China would favor the dead workers family and they would collect. The coal mine would have a hard time finding workers and would have to improve. A public outcry could go either way- the Army would be called or the Gov would look the other way. No boycott, coal is the life blood of China's power needs.
rickbar123 1 year ago
@rickbar123 "No coal mines in HK or Singapore..."
i guess you just dont want to understand the underlying principle,do you?ok forget coal.consider fisheries. you see any problem with fisheries?? lets say a large fishing company owns a big fleet of fishing boats
in US: comp irresponsible -> fishing boats sink -> comp "pays off" gov to look other way -> protects comp from competition and class action suits from the fishermen.
in HK: comp irresponsible -> boats sink -> gov does not play favourite
mintoo2cool 1 year ago
@rickbar123 [continuing] so ...
in HK: comp irresponsible -> boats sink -> gov does not play favourite -> company gets boycotted by the public -> the public favors the competitor -> public puts a class action suit because of its behaviour -> comp now either has to put up its socks and work or go out of business ... this is what free market is all about ...you get rewarded for being responsible and get punished for making bad decisions ... for short term gains

You have no chance in society like this Maxx.
jdmay1 2 years ago 2

Lol. The" only ones" trying to use shock for their own benefits.
Right.
I agree with that you're saying, but come on...seriously...you really think the american government is the only one that does this??
...and I could hardly call this video full of lies.

schwab,
I agree Obama is just another disaster capitalist, but I don't see how that makes the film a lie.
Your analysis of Obama just proves the point.

This story sounds so familiar to so many. In Australia,
our politicians appear to have an addiction to the sale of public commodities to private business.
Part of that addiction is manifested in the ridiculous
amount of corporate welfare that exists in this country.
Whilst the unemployed are vilified, large corporations enjoy huge tax breaks. What
ever happened to "Governement for the People".
