just back from this island. people live there of course. very nice people. it is expensive. even in the off season. it is very beautiful, and a bit tough getting around. many trails are not clearly marked which makes it necessary to hire a guide, although not always. wild terrain, great snorkeling, nice people.

I went to school there. I left after hurricane Hugo destroyed the house and then this happened... burying the main town under ash. Today, only the north tip is habitable. This is a lovely island with some lovely people. Visit there if you ever want a vacation to "get away from it all"... you won't be disppointed. And, if you ever meet a Montserratian: you can count on their honesty and good will.
