  • i think we all as adults need to get educated in the problem..its sad the poorer countries cant even buy rice which is so cheap here, we need to all make a decision to eat less meat and diary we are all killing ourselves, its not good for our health at all

  • @BadAttitude2009, hey lets start with sterilizing you first ok!!

  • The problem is to many humans on the face of the earth. Sterilise 4 out of 5 human babies born. Less humans means a better life for everything in the world. 99% of the worlds problems is do to overpopulation of humans. Too to 2 two many fucking people! When will the fools of the world realise this?

  • Freedom of choice!? For what price!!

The law of global economy will bring all of us in a dead end with terrible consequences.

How can we stop the destruction, how can we stop this from happening!!

WE HAVE TO!! WE HAVE TO OR WE ALL GONNA PAY THE PRICE!!

  • I'm not a big meet lover and now I understand why.

  • Two people halving their meat intake is as good as one person going veggie, every effort helps :)

  • I don't really eat meat unless i have to

but over population of animals is cruel for the animal because then they starve

  • oh my god..i'm so proud to be vegetarian!

    EAT LESS MEET!!!!

  • Awful! 2/3 of fresh water that human use goes to irrigation. It is costly expansive to feed, water and move livestock. worse, farms factories jam packed animals into tight enclosed spaces resulting in animals eating each other feces and contaminating their blood stream, our groundwater and polluting our air. If the unethical treatment doesn't get to you think about the hefty ecological cost animal agricultural produces; they misuse crops, water, energy, and grazing areas. An ecological disaster!

  • Eating meat is fine, as long as you only eat what you need, you don't throw anything away, and keeping in mind that animals die to feed you.

  • More emphasis on the conditions in which the animals are kept and the way in which they are slaughtered. Stronger, or more emphatic, ending.

  • a long with that we should also worry about the way they execute the animals it sould be last painful form them !!!!!

  • 1) Reduce meat eating to 2 meals / week

    2) Reduce the size of the serving

    3) Save our species

  • talk to people

  • Eat less meat: the Planet thanks you!

  • Us (humans) are responsible for the animals on this planet. They can't speak up for themselves and we should look after them and treat them with respect!!!!

  • go veg!!

    º

    now!!

  • why are these types of productions being supported??? because bio- farmers can't cpompete with intensive methods... where is the funding/ education to encourage smart farming?.... many countries demand that farmers protect the land and water tables... in return they get funding and price control... it's called sustainable farming.... demanding organic would mean less meat on market....this would also increase the price of meat therefore decreasing consumption etc etc... we can change the world

  • eat less meat!

  • In future we will be eating less meat

  • were dead

  • everything we do affects the planet. maybe we should go back to basics

  • tomemos conciancia

  • Save the planet

  • I had no idea that meat consumption was increasing so much. It explains the catastrophic deforestation that is happening: I knew it was for grazing land, but didn't realise the reason was an increase in beef production. (Stupid eh?) I don't eat meat, but realise that stopping all meat eating the world over is too great a target in this life time, so Compassion in Farming is the best way forward for now.

EAT LESS MEAT AND SAVE THE WORLD. I like that one. Spread the slogan: tell the World.

  • i m coming from a country where the animal protection laws are not very good, and i can see how these poor animals are being treated..and it s not good, and it makes us, humans look worse than any animal in the world....EAT LESS MEAT!!!

  • Good video!

  • Don't eat meat!

  • i wish that i oould have played god and in my act i would have surmonised all my brethren that they could take their vitamin and caloried intake from the animals but not after they die but before that through their love and affection for example their milk as gandhi in india has demonstrated and lots of hindus still do?

  • EAT LESS MEAT!!!

  • It's terrible the way we behave with this animals.

  • The injunction to eat less meat is a realistic one. Vegetarian/veganism though best is never going to be for everyone. This is a very effective presentation apart from Jonathan Porrit's concluding remarks. After speaking cogently there is a sentence of vagueness - perhaps because off the cuff? Otherwise excellent and enlightening. J L very good voiceover.

  • This is exactly my personal reason to be vegetarian. I will play this video next time someone comments how "naive" it is to feel sorry about the farm animals that are "meant" to be eaten... grrr.

  • EAT LESS MEAT!!! Don't be selfish, care about animals!

  • BE SELFISH!

(SO) EAT LESS MEAT!!! save the World YOU're living in! save the fu....g Planet that enables you to live!

  • Eat less meat in general and more organic farmed meat specially

  • veg power

  • WEEE! I love tofu :))

  • animals are friends, not food!!!! peace out

  • Go veg!

  • Remind it everytime!

  • Eat greener, eat better

  • 5 times more? Wow, I didn't knew that

  • Brilliant. Not only do we need to get people to eat less meat but also to eat well-reared, organic, free-range meat, better for the environment and for animals.........Also, Jo Lumley you are my hero, keep up the good work. Becky x

  • it`s coming a new crisis food. there exist other ways to suply the meat.

  • Mooi, die vrije varkens!

  • Remember the precautionary principle, avoid utilizing anthropogenic processes that may cause devastating environmental harm unless the process is proven NOT to harm the environment first.

  • We don't need meat to sustain ourselves, it is now standard human behavior to think that animals are on this earth for our benefit. We have lost touch with the origins of our food, if we had our own small holdings, we would treat our animals with respect and truly value the produce, rather than mass producing it and make it so cheap it's real cost and value has been lost. We make and discard too much, in all aspects of our lives.

  • We are responsible for our lives and for LIFE on our planet Earth. She is a beautiful present to us, yet we squander her, rape her,

and despoil her. Let us make a difference. Let us show our governments what we want,

what kind of government we want AND need: repsonsible government, displaying and encouraging responsible behaviour from the worlds citizens, and encouraging and supporting ALL countries to develope Earth respectful laws and Earth respectful behaviour.

    Zubin Nur

  • Organically and compassionately farmed meat even tastes better - it's win-win!

  • It's really not that hard to eat less meat. Help others see that!

  • Excellent - really brings the message home.

  • Us humans have to stop being so selfish, the scale that we eat meat in the west is disgusting, being this spoiled is a relativley recent habbit that we have to get out of. If you wont do it for the planet, DO IT FOR YOUR BOWELS.

  • Not everyone has to become a veggy if they don't want to, just minimize your meat dinners to 2 a week, that's enough for all the nutritions you need and you'll make a big change in saving our planet!

  • People just don't see. Films like these are vital to open our eyes.

  • A little effort by everyone and problem will be solved. Just reduce meat consumption.

  • I agree, turn vegetarian or vegan. Its not that hard.

If you love animals or the environment, how can you love animals when you eat them.

Or if not try an buy organic so you know the animal has had a good life

  • Turn VEGGIEEEE!!

  • It is really awful that we never mentioned eating meat can have influence on environmental catastrophe

  • Have you seen the movie Earthlings? It will definatly make you want to become a vegan or just eat a little free range organic like me.

  • i do as possible :/

  • It's time for action to be taken on a global scale

  • You can't be a meat eating environmentalist!

  • Duidelijk!

  • I think it's a good idea to get people to actually think about the implications of eating meat; many think of meat as a basic necessity but eating it in the quantity that many do today just isn't sustainable, ethical or responsible.

  • great video

  • I try to avoid eating meat as much as possible, and if I eat it, I try to buy meat that's been produced in a more human way.

  • It's real easy to keep your own chickens.

  • Better for our health and the health of the planet. I eat much less meat now.

  • straight to the point. I now pledge to eat a lot less meat, and try and buy meat that was reared from animals in a more humane way. It costs more but will be worth it.

  • since I was a child I could not eat an animal especially if I had seen the sacrifice of it...I remember that on a Christmas Eve, when Romanian tradition include killing the pig and prepare it,I was hearing that tortured animal even from the inside house ... so I wasn't eating at all... I am a great lover of animals so....

  • Some frightening statistics. I've pledged to only buy freedom food meat for my family and have become vegetarian myself - we now eat about a quarter of the meat we ate before. We save our meat for weekends now.

  • impressive this information. for some years I was vegetarian and at the same time I was breeding sheep in an organic way, preserving the environment. help save the planet passing this information.

    João Paulo, Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal

  • Oh if only some of my friends could be convinced about this.. Good video.

  • My smarmy wife is gloating about being a vegetarian. Still love her though.

  • buy free-range, at least, or go further and go vegitarian, or max out by becoming vegan! I personally, though, can't face giving up milk, amongst other things...

  • I feel so compassionate about the animals that are so intensively reared for our food chain, I will only buy from the butchers that assure me its free range/reared outside. I don't buy a lot either as the meat I buy is a little more as it is more animal friendly.

  • Vegan for life!

  • Scary but effective. Makes you not want to eat meat at all.

  • i don t eat much meat, but after seeing this i ll eat even less!

  • Support greenpeace changing the planet

  • we have got to do something.

so many things are goin wrong

  • Vegetarianism is the best.

  • People are to selfisch !!

  • The solution to so many modern problems like obesity, the environment, human & animal rights could be resolved so simply through eating less or no meat/dairy. It's so simple yet so sad that more people don't make that connection or change.

  • we are just ruining our world...

    go vegertarian!

  • I genuinely don't think many people are aware the great extent of environmental destruction caused by meat production each year. We need to get the word out!

  • Gente !!! No os cebeis a base de carne !!

Existen muchos mas productos de alimentacion igual de eficaces y menos contaminantes .. Explorad, probad y colaborad con el medio ambiente!!!

  • If people are worried about the money in their pocket. they should stop eating meat right now because meet, although very cheap in de bio-industry, is stil the most expensive part of the meal. If people eat more vegetables they will find out they will have more to spend en they are healthier too.

  • Right now people are worried about the credit crunch and the money in their pocket.. but if we don't act NOW on the issues highlighted in this video in just a few years time when it's too late we'll all wish we had acted

  • Continuing to abuse our natural resources will only get us in more and more trouble of kinds that we haven't even imagined yet! We need to learn how to live in a sustainable way

  • This is a personal observation of my own, but I have noticed that people who eat less meat become ill less often.

    Sobering film.

  • Milk consumption is also a big problem. We have to change our diet!

  • There is plenty of vegetable matter on the earth to feed everyone. The problem is, we have been brainwashed into believing that meat is good for us and it's oh, so delicious!!! Before you eat that next chop or steak (or even fish for that matter), think about what it took to get to your plate. I know we don't want to think about that. We prefer just to keep those blinkers on and follow the status quo. I mean, everyone eats meat, right? So, how could it be so bad?

  • Even Australia's CSIRO diet recommends 3 protein meals a day, with meat as the main source. At this rate, how is our planet going to survive? China is demanding ever more meat for it's upwardly mobile population. Think about what effect this will have in years to come.

  • When I stopped eating meat several years ago and did a little investigating, I discovered all of the info included in this video. Please read and educate yourselves about the facts. Lets stop allowing our consciousness to be influenced by media, dieticians, doctors, politicians and meat producers.

  • These statistics are freely available, but are hidden by meat manufacturers, in an attempt to justify our unsatiable desire for meat.

  • We know it.

    Give & receive.

    Or...

    Steal & pay later.

Don't steal your brothers life naturally.

  • excellent! in 4 mins why to eat less meat. it made me relieved that i rarely eat meat, and inspired me to pass it on to meat-eating friends and family...

  • Good video!!!! We can survive without meat. I think the process of killing this living beings is disgusting, repellent, sickening, corrupt, vicious and dishonest.

  • We should be more frugal in terms of meat consumption, if we really care about Earth Conservation.

  • Unacceptable! We must and we can change this!

  • save the animals! save the planet!!

  • I had no idea!!

    this is schoking!!

  • Excellent excerpt. This is why I'm a vegetarian! This will help to spread the word that it's so important to reduce meat consumption if we really care about the world's environment.

  • This should be shown at EVERY school, even for the youngest ones, everyone needs this kind of information, alienation is not an option.

  • Most people aren't aware of it, when I used to eat meat I just couldn't relate my food with all these issues, and specially, with the animal I was eating... For the love of God people, stop eating carcasses, we're better than that.

  • I am sure glad I watched this video. I was not aware of some issues that meat farming was causing for the planet's environment.

  • I for one will try to eat more vegetables. It is healthier and cheaper, and better for the planet, so why not?

  • good vid very interesting stats, just goes to show how much damage we are doing by living the way we do bit selfish really.

  • Now, I have a less rejection for being vegetarian!

  • now i think is a great idea to take care of our planet ... we have to save it but quickly .... the time is going to finish ... tell all to watch this video please this is a good way to save our planet ..... QUICKLY

  • Go vegan as me, and take less time thinking about peace, nature, ethics, animal, fat, colestherol, famine etc etc etc ...

  • I drink soya milk, at first it was a bit of a change, but you get used to it and now I don't miss cows milk at all. Dairy is not absorbed well by humans, we shouldn't have it at all and it can cause illnesses. Excellent videos, I shall be cutting down my organic meat consumption now too, (if it isn't organic I won't buy it - the way other livestock are treated is just too cruel). If everyone made a change slowly to less meat and dairy, and kept it up, it would make a huge difference.

  • Please! Almost one quarter of human population is vegetarian. If you don't like the idea of letting the meat, at leat try to eat less than the day before...

  • Thanks for your work - don`t give up! Keep on fighting for a better world!

  • I'm always trying help the enviroment and everything I do since I've was a little girl and is very moving to see people really realizing how important it is to help our planet, But is so easy for many to only comment. Take Action and really take part and all this and Do It. That will help alot..

  • Remember the song "We are the world, we are the people"? Well, we ARE the world, so let's get doing or there will be no world left, and then there will really be a financial crisis... money won't even buy us food!

  • Good vid... we really need to step up our animal rights measures and reduce our impact on the earth!

  • Reduce meat eating

  • Yes, we need changes. Economicals, Politicals, ... not climates one.

  • thanks. we ve got lot to do.

  • one cow per year, please!!!

eating less meat => slowing down the climate change ...and happier animals (:

if you wander how come? watch this video once again

  • By giving up meat on 1 or more days a week you are helping the planet. Also, cutting back on saturated fat is good for your heart and veins. Eat less meat!

  • The less we eat the more we can feed, the healthier we will be and the longer we can enjoy our lives.

  • Yes there will be a problem in the future, accept let change the LAWS of this USA, so we can keep a lot of OUR Livestock around the Government Offices, this way it will keep are law maker at Home away from the Office.

We will save a lot of money since they, Politicians will not be present. Not Present NO Vote, No Vote no more new Laws or Taxes.

And if it was not for Laws, I could use Goats for my Yard instead of this Foreign Oil for My lawn mowner. Plus they are good Alarms.

  • meat is murder

  • eat less meat!! go veggie for 1 day a week, you'd be suprised how much it helps!

  • I'm commenting this video because I <3 the Earth.

Have a very happy Global Day of Action!

  • Just grow up child, if you're going to say something in favour of meat say something that makes sense!

  • Keep up the good work :)

  • Don't go veggie! If you do no one's paying for the upkeep of the animals. Be a compassionate carnivore. It might mean paying a little more, but that's the cost of ensuring animals are treated as they should be rather than simply being industrially processed.

  • There is no justification on meat, its eating is product of nothing more than pure selfishnes.

  • Meat is no good at all, it just destoys you, the world and kills 2000 animals/second ONLY IN THE USA. Some people really need to mave their fat asses and change this situation.

  • Well, we don't have to stop eating meet, but great if one can do so. But we should eat less, that would make already a change. And we should look at what meet we eat.

  • I don't understand it! We have so many other options beside eating meat. Why are the lives of those creatures so worthless to us that we aren't even able to just give away a little piece of our luxury? How can humans be so ignorant?

  • With a projected popul'n of 10billion by 2050 we must limit us. But how? The only countries considering this are China & western nations-who are doing it naturally. I'm under the impression that few other nations are bothered, some, particularly islamic ones, actively procreate with a view to world domination. Indians believe that the problem will sort itself. Giving money in aid encourages over pop'n in both short & long terms. We need race pop'n limits with a consequence of "over production"

  • Go veg

  • eat less meat and be kinder to those that die to be put on your table

  • this is all so true...

  • Very good and informative video

  • Eat so much meat is bad for the environment and also for human's health. Ilness as cancer has increased on the 1º World since 1940, and this are conected with our current diet. Less meat and more vegetables without chemical fertilizer!!!.

  • Great video. Humans need to stop being so greedy as there are healthier, more nutritional foods for us to consume than meat. Educating people about the damage the whole meat eating process has on our planet (and therefore eventually ourselves) and the suffering, pain and misery caused to billions of animals worldwide - is the key. That's why I support Compassion In World Farming.

  • Good video

  • its enough to make you stop eating meat, punto

  • Great message!!! Stop eating meat, save the animals and save the planet!!!

  • We should also cut down on dairy products since cows are intensively farmed to produce them too. The United Nations Food and Agriculture report (2006) entitled "Livestock's Long Shadow" is very scary!

  • Today's the day... Help save the Earth!!

I didn't actually know this stuff about meat, it's really worrying... but we can stop it!

  • go protest against the air pollution. dont touch my meal!

  • I sometimes think, I really should stop eating meat for ever

  • Less meat can help stop climate change. well done to compassion!

  • People are to selfisch!!

  • Basically, we're eating ourselves. STOP IT!

  • How can we do this to animal!? We are not superior! Animal need freedom like us.

  • My husband and I have already switched to a flexitarian diet -- we only eat meat on weekends. We've done this for mainly environmental reasons, but ethical and health reasons also comes into play. Save the planet - go flexitarian!

  • Open your eyes and act!

  • Today's the day... Help save the Earth!!

Eating toooooo much meat is bad for ur digestion :-P

  • Eat less meat! It helps!!

  • meat is a luxury

  • Commit to a meat free diet. It is easy and healthy.

  • Eat less Meat!

    It's up to us..

  • Eating meat once a week is totally suffisant. Even less, but it's up to each one of us...

  • this is SCARY.........

  • If this doesn't convince you, try watching some of the other CIWF videos on their website. Very disturbing but they really make you think.

  • Eat less meat -Singapore

  • I don't eat meet ;)

    "..animals a my friends

and I don't eat my friends.."

  • eat less meat, save our environment..!!

  • it's an everybody wins - eat less meat!

  • Eat less meat.

  • Just imagine the world becoming vegetarian, ...respect for life as a way of life. Someday your children will be appalled at the notion of consuming the spirit of another creature. That day can't come soon enough. Mercy for God's creatures...

  • De mensheid gaat vleesetend ten onder!

  • If we all became vegetarians , it would save our climate and save the starving millions from hunger. It's as simple as that

  • Think before you eat!If we all did, the world would be a better place!

  • The logic is hard to argue with!

  • It's so simple isn't it - Surely everyone can eat less meat !

  • When I gave up meat after visiting an intensive pig farm and then chickens housed in tiny cages, I wouldn`t have dreamt that I could live without it, almost completely, for 18 years. But I have and I beg others to try in order to avoid all the problems aired in Joanna`s video.

  • Eat the veggies intstead of letting the cattle do it first!

  • Go Vegan! people - it is surely the best way to live. It is the most effective way of stopping environmental disasters - animal abuse - human health problems. Go vegan!
