Don't get me wrong, to go undefeated (regardless of what your conference is ) is an amazing Feat. But honestly Hawaii was overrated, especially considering they were struggling with one of the weakest Pac 10 teams at the time (Washington).

If you remember, the number one and two spots were wide open all season. My team, Virginia Tech, was considered at the end of the season but was passed up for a much better LSU team that beat them head to head. Kansas was great that year. Virginia Tech. Hawaii wasn't bad but they were quite a bit overrated.

About 5 weeks before this game, I watched Kentucky give Georgia all they wanted in Athens. You can't make me believe the Dawgs were 31 points better than this team! Be it a sluggish start, butterflies in the stomach, or whatever, Hawaii was a far better team than they were on this day. Granted, Georgia had a better defense than any other team they'd played, but I still thought the game would be close. It was the only BCS bowl I had looked forward to!!
Kentucky, Miss State, Vandy and every other team in the SEC would have beaten this Hawaii team in the Sugar Bowl; undefeated or not. Their schedule probably spent most of its time in an ICU ward somewhere while doctors tried to register a pulse. Hawaii has no business playing SEC teams. Bama proved it in '06 (while suffering from sanctions, no less), Georgia proved it at the Sugar Bowl, and Florida will prove it again when the Rainbow Warriors show up in the swamp in August.

I guess you didn't see the game. Kentucky led 10-0 in the beginning and the 4th quarter they only trailed 21-13. The outcome was in doubt until Georgia added a late field goal.

When he saw how big, fast, and hungry Georgia was, they had no shot in hell of winning. Hawaii was the most one-dimensional offense in college football, and once they stopped their passing game, the game was over for Hawaii. When you don't have balance on offense, and don't have a counter attack, then you end up being one vulnerable and overmatched team. Job well done Dawgs!!

Kunia5: All I can say is - BLOWOUT!!!! Our defense was great, you are right. And because of that, our offense didnt have to play that well in the 2nd half. For those of us who have played football (and I was a defensive end) "Offense sells tickets; Defense wins games" thats why Hawaii sold tickets and UGA won the game LOL. Hawaii is a great team and Brennon is a great QB, but they played a weak schedule and it messed them up.

About 5 weeks before this game, I watched Kentucky give Georgia all they wanted in Athens. You can't make me believe the Dawgs were 31 points better than this team! Be it a sluggish start, butterflies in the stomach, or whatever, Hawaii was a far better team than they were on this day. Granted, Georgia had a better defense than any other team they'd played, but I still thought the game would be close. It was the only BCS bowl I had looked forward to!!

Kentucky, Miss State, Vandy and every other team in the SEC would have beaten this Hawaii team in the Sugar Bowl; undefeated or not. Their schedule probably spent most of its time in an ICU ward somewhere while doctors tried to register a pulse. Hawaii has no business playing SEC teams. Bama proved it in '06 (while suffering from sanctions, no less), Georgia proved it at the Sugar Bowl, and Florida will prove it again when the Rainbow Warriors show up in the swamp in August.

When he saw how big, fast, and hungry Georgia was, they had no shot in hell of winning. Hawaii was the most one-dimensional offense in college football, and once they stopped their passing game, the game was over for Hawaii. Our break is after Bama, we then play Tennessee, Vandy, who isn't a pushover anymore,LSU is a toss up since it's in Baton Rouge but they lost a lot of key players, Florida...need I say more?.. Auburn and then Tech who will not be any contest, But thats 5 teams, only two of which are at Sanford, who are not easy to beat simply cause it's the SEC. But I have love for the Dawgs. We can do it.

the pac-10 champion automatically receives a bid to the rose bowl barring them being ranked #1 or #2 in the nation then they go to the national title and depending on how good the pac-10 runner up is they'll go to the rose bowl... being an ASU student i was praying USC would go to the nation title game so we'd go to the rose bowl instead, but it didnt work out like that, and Texas spanked us =(.... anyhow see you georgia guys next year Sept 20th!

For those of us who have played football (and I was a defensive end) "Offense sells tickets; Defense wins games" thats why Hawaii sold tickets and UGA won the game LOL. Hawaii is a great team and Brennon is a great QB, but they played a weak schedule and it messed them up.
