  • u never explain the not aggresive line well enough

  • I like to mirror until I get checked =P

  • @chess cholo its ese not essay

  • Some cholito played the Vienna Game against me (1. e4 e5 2. Nc3) so I used the Falkbeer Defense on that vato (2...Nf6) that fool moved his queen (3. Qf3) so I'm like we'll just have to see about that holmes and I busted out my other knight ay (3...Nc6) that fool moved a pawn (4. d3) I'm like ay look out for your queen essay (4...Nd4) he moved it back (5. Qe3) and I'm like you're mine now chulo (5...Nxc2+) he moved his king (6. Kd1) then I took his queen (6...Nxe3+) and then that fool gave up ay.

  • Hey Kevin thanks for making your videos I really like them and subscribed.

  • 04:18 Someone's laughing O_o

  • watching your videos made me think that you can beat kasparov or all the top level GM's in the world. Thanks a lot...

  • Hey, thanks a lot for these videos, Kevin. I'm really enjoying them.

  • 14:57 is a mistake, because black can play Bxf2 and only then take the knight.

  • @hraesvelgML it is not a mistake. white follows up with d4 with space, development and the bishop pair. White's king looks a little exposed but it's perfectly safe

  • You neglected to mention the extremely sharp and complicated Frankenstein-Dracula variation, which arises from 1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf3 3.Bc4 Nxe4. Any player of 3.Bc4 needs to be aware of that.

  • @Elorviat

Its the same as the variation he showed, only from whites perspective, its just flipped.

  • @thechesswebsite 14:54 When Nxe5, black can do bxf2+ and when king is forced to take Kxf2, Black can recapture knight with Nxe5. So having white take the pawn at e5 will be a mistake against an experienced player.

  • video won't play.

  • kevin i'm playing the dutch defense and the stonewall variation but i think that the white bishop don't enter the game can you make a video about the leningrad variation? i will really appreciate it.

  • what does gambit mean?

  • @ntsdr It means you playing something which is not quite visible to the opponent & you take advantage in the end by sacrificing a piece or two.

  • @ntsdr its giving up material in order to gain spacial, or developmental advantage, or if your looking to win the material back.

  • Interesting

  • What about the 3. g3 variation? It is a lot of fun to play!

  • furmiliar..

    all kiddin aside, thanks!

  • Thanks for the video. At 7:54, why not just Qh4+?

  • @xactxx Why waste important early rounds pushing your queen around where it can be threatened so easily? White responds to ...Qh4+ with g3, which builds defense, helps secure the center, and directly threatens black's queen.

  • quite interesting! Thank you

  • hi Kevin this is Nitish From India. your videos are fantastic. i am learning a lot from you.

I want to request you humbly if you don`t mind. Please please upload your exclusive videos ,which are on 10 DVDs set, on YouTube. Because everyone can not buy those DVDs. But still people want to learn.

if you would be able to upload your exclusive videos on Youtube, Then it would be a kind of charity or social work. :) everyone can not afford to buy these DVDs.

    you are doing nice work.

  • thanks i hated when i saw this opening as black now i feel much better

  • Hi Kevin,

I saw that during 2:35 one of the moves you recommended was actually what you called a blunder in the falkbeer counter-gambit video because of the subsequent Qh5+ by black, g3 by white, Nxg3 by black leading to a destroyed kingside.

  • so is the vienna game for White or Black? It appears confusing that instead of black moving their knight to d4 why not capture the knight on e4 via pawn to equalize the loss?

  • at 15:00 black can always take with the bishop on f2 to check the king and then recapture with the knight, giving black a bit more of an advantage out of the opening

  • @TheJohnJarvinen I meant at 14:55

  • Nice video, thanks, Kevin!

  • you are an excellent analyst. im not particularly good at chess i just love how you explain the meaning behind the moves, and the mind games that ensue

  • @xLACKOSx That's what I like too, he challenges the way you think about the game whilst presenting each topic. That's the real value of his videos

  • Do you play chesslive in facebook.

  • how long does it take to make a new chess opening?

  • how long does it take to make a new chess opening

  • this is going to me my game when i play once a year

  • Keep it up :D

  • man, i love your videos, and your way of explaining chess :)

  • I doubt that even a single opening is a force win for white. I really like your videos but is it possible that you could flip the board around to see how black sees the board - maybe even produce a line of counter play?

  • "Aye nother." I really lol'd at that pronunciation.

  • 2:30 pawn to d3 leads to a trap by black,

    3. ..., Qh4+. either white moves his King or plays g3.

after 4. ..., Nxg3. to keep his rook, white's only option would be Nf3 threatening to take black's queen.

  • @thechesswebsite in recent tournaments, I often tried to be aggressive but I often discovered that it is my opponent who ended up attacking in the middle game. pretty much when my opponent castles, I have no idea of how to attack. Can you give some good tips on how to be SAFELY aggressive?

  • i didnt saw you showed 2. ...Nf6 3.g3?!

  • What would you do if your opponent doesn't make the moves that your expecting?

  • i'll try it in my next game :)

then i'll tell you how it worked, thanks for the video Kevin

  • I loved this one!

    Thank You, Sir!

  • nice,

  • Nice:) tnk u!

  • You know whats funny is that I have oftn made many of these exact moves without knowing it was called The Vienna Game haha.

  • @TheFateArcher yes. me to and not just with the Vienna Game

  • @TheFateArcher lol you need to understand that "Vienna game" is just a label they assign to these series of moves. In reality it is just a trend of people who sat there and reasoned that these were logically sound moves to make. Over time the name was probably brought up and it stuck xD.

  • This is my all time favorite opening. When I see two non-agressive players play this, white tends to be extremely well positioned with lots of protection. I find that if black plays aggressive with this open it will bring out a good game. But you are right, lots of options to look at.

  • Wow, looks great. It looks very passive at first look, but I'm impressed at the options that there are. Great stuff.

  • Thanks Kevin!!!

  • sixth

  • great video man keep it up

  • 2. Nc3 is cunning If Black isn't aware. =) Nice. Keep it up please.

  • 3rd

  • Good video ( three minutes from the end but i presume the end is just as good ) Don't see the vienna to often but might whip it out at my club
