  • where is it you got the la roche posay cleansing water for oily skin ? :Dx

  • @coco63626 should be in the info! xx

  • The Garnier Clean Sensitive can be bought at Amazon I think, and if you search it in Google and click the 'shopping' tag up at the top there's some other sites you can get it from too, but their shipping can be a bit unreasonable for such a cheap item. One online store wanted to charge £6 shipping. Pah!

  • Firstable I was sooo shocked that it's so expensive ,then I get it- for 500 ml not for 250ml umm... maybe it's cheaper to buy two bottles of 250ml?

  • Hello There,

I've been looking at your video about miscellar water for cleansing purposes. I have a very sensitive combination skin tone and I recently bought the clarisonic mia. My question is, can I use the Mia with a miscellar water or do I need a foaming cleanser? Recommend the best brand?

What would you recommend based on your experience.

  • @salony75 hey, I think I emailed you back from my site on this question - hope it's you! x

  • wich one is better between Vichy and LaRochePosay??? :) Please answer because I wanna buy it !! :)

  • @bbiiaannccandFRIENDS value-wise, go for the Vichy, it's very nice xx

  • i can buy Bioderma in Slovenia. yaaaay! :)

  • @Misssummersong and in Poland :D yeaaaaay :D

  • Here in Prague bioderma's sold in local pharmacies, and I've used some of its stuff for my eczema, but had to stop because of the cost :( I've never used the cleanser but I'll guarantee that anything from bioderma is amazing; their bodywash was the only one I've ever found that didn't make my skin flake straight after my shower! And I love your videos; they're so easy to follow & give great advice :) :) :)

  • Just ordered the Vichy! So excited. I've heard great things about bioderm and vichy... Should be good! Vichy USA has a current promo for 10% off & free shipping if anyone is interested...

  • hi! really liked your video. In Portugal you can find Bioderma in almost every big drugstore/ pharmacy. We have alot of french beauty/spa products, I don't think we ship it but maybe when you come on a holiday ;)

I didn't like the roche posay micellear I didn't get into the bioderma right away because of that one.

  • whhaaaaaaaaaaaat ?!

    I swear I thought you're 22-24 !!

I read on your website that you started modeling when you were 20 and you said in this video that you're a model for 10 years so I checked your channel and I was literally like that : O.O

AMAZING !! your body your skin your attitude your personality are all so fresh and young ! amazing !

  • Garnier one was discontinued (at least in Tesco lol) But it wasn't very good really, no diferent to a rose water or Liz Earle's skin boots tonic in terms of remoing eye make-up so perhaps that's why?

  • Hey girls. check out my channel comment and subscribe! It would mean so much(:

  • @mummymarmot haha, mothership! xxx

  • Bioderma is easily available in Poland. I'd say that unfortunatelly Vichy and La Roche Posay are not half as good. If you're in Poland Bioderma is a must-buy. What I observed, however, is that it is better to buy small bottles (250ml instead of 500ml) as the liquid gets worse (but still far better than any other cleanser) as you use it.

  • I love Bioderma products I'm using Sebium Al un Akn skin creams, foaming gel and water, I cant live without them, if I'm not using them my skin gets horrible.

  • I love Bioderma products I'm using Sebium Al un Akn skin creams, foaming gel and water, I cant live without them, if I'm not using them my skin gets horrible.

  • Thank you for taking time to research and film this! Bioderma is hard to find in US and the Caudalie is spot on!

  • I live in Croatia, and i just realized few days ago that they sell Bioderma cleanser in my local pharmacy! I will deffo have to try it out asap...couse i've been looking for a good, gentle cleanser. Thanx :))) xxx

  • Wanted to say THANK YOU; I've wanted to try Bioderma for so long, but frankly indulging in serious CBA when it comes to buying it online as I've had bad times with ebay, and random foreign websites elicit suspicion. Sooo, this weekend I hit Boots and bought the Vichy Purete Thermale and it's friggin' brilliant! I use Liz Earle to cleanse, but wanted a make-up remover I could use beforehand to save my muslin cloths from make-up ruin. Anyone reluctant to buy Bioderma should try Vichy. You rock! x

  • I saw you in Look magazine and got really excited. i said 'hmmm that model looks like Ruth from AModelRecommends...OH MY GOODNESS IT IS RUTH!' hahaha xxx

  • @bluesmarties95 yay! x

  • Wow! I think Garnier is the only one of those brands available in the US, but I have never seen that product! Our Garnier products' packaging is really different too - always a bright green.

  • @iluvyou345 its always bright green here too its just that the clean sensitive range has different packaging ps garnier is owned by loreal which is french aswell

  • I wish Garnier sold the same products in the USA, but we don't have access to the cleansing water from them. Companies used to debut products a little later in the USA and vice versa, but now we just don't get them at all.

  • @staciarose20 boooooo..... : (

  • just watched a bunch of your videos and subscribed - loving your channel already! :-)

  • do you know any other youtube channels that are about models/are gurus that are models?

  • @SCREAMkristen2010 not that I have seen! xx

  • This was a really good video, really enjoyed watching it. I'm new to your channel and loving it. Hope you're well :) xx

  • @whatlauraloves thanks - welcome! x

  • I am looking into these - are they only good for cleaning off makeup or can they actually cleanse and help my skin become healthy. I have struggled with skin since I was a teen and I would love to figure out what works! thanks!

  • Along with La Roche Posay and Vishy, Bioderma also makes a version for oily skin. Would you consider trying that out too? Deeply appreciated, xxx from Greece :-)

  • does the garnier one remove eye makeup as effectvely as bioderma? :) x

  • @smiah94 about the same, yes. Although the Garnier 2-in-1 makeup dissolver, same price but blue and two layers, is AMAZING for taking off makeup!

  • i read on ur block about a black chanel eyelash-curler! where can i get it? did i miss it (impossible) when does it launche in europe (germay)? i want it! please tell me what u know about it.

  • @johmarie7 sorry, no idea about Germany! : (

  • "Avene" (another Frenche brand) also do a really good one....I'm not too sure if they have it in the UK but here in Australia we have it!! I've been using mine for a fair few months now and it's just great....maybe not soo good for removing mascara but to be honest I've never really used it for that anyway, I always just remove it in the shower with water!! If you come across "Avene" give that one a try too as it's suitable for sensitive skin!! :) xXx

  • Great video-thanx!

  • Disreguarding price, which is your absolute favourite? Which one leaves your skin looking and feeling the best? I'm really keen to try one my make up remover is almost out!:)

  • @morganrane hmmm. There's honestly not that much difference between them! For very sensitive then I think that Bioderma pips the others to the post, but only just! The Esthederm is probably my second fave, but it is very expensive...

  • The Lancome one has an amazing pump & is better than the Bioderma if at all possible?

  • you give the best beauty videos. Love.

  • Avene also has one! And will look if the Garnier is available in Aus!

  • Bioderma easy to get in Canada now. In drugstores :)

  • Bioderma is also available in Belgium

  • Guru Makeup Emporium stock Bioderma now, I'm so happy :)

  • Great vid! Love Bioderma and don't get to France often enough to stock up as much as I need to. My local Boots (central Manchester) are selling off the remnants of their Garnier Clean Sensitive stock so perhaps this one has been discontinued? Une beauty have also just started selling a micellar cleansing water - 150ml for £7.99, found on the display stand with their makeup rather than in the skincare aisle.....haven't tried it yet but seems pretty decent value.

  • @pixominx oh wow - thanks for that, I'll give it a test!! x

  • You are a legend! Thank you so much for this! I really value your opinion!x

  • Hello Ruth! Could these be used as cleansers? I have really sensitive skin and if I wash my face with water in the morning I end up with my face all red. Thank you, love your videos :) xx

  • @mnm10831 they ARE cleansers! x

  • I think cheapsmells do the Garnier one - but it doesn't seem to have a pump?

  • Can't wait for your recipes! :)

  • Ruth did you know that the Garnier one is pretty much identical to the Vichy one in terms of ingredients? The only difference is that the Vichy one has "parfum" (as the ingredients say) in it and a couple of the ingredients in the middle of the list are in a different order. Check the bottles.

Now I use Vichy after they discontinued the Garnier in the UK (it's no longer on the website). Twice the price for the same volume! Scandalous! Oh well, c'est la vie...

  • @VioletZenith yes, I ran though them when I was having my 'cheap products' doubts! Interesting, no? Probably different quantities of things, but still! x

  • omg you are a mind reader!!! i've been searching all week for bioderma or other cleansing waters at different price ranges!

  • Don't worry next time I see Moss (obv all the time as she's everywhere!) I'll sort her out lol, blimmin copy cat!

Just a note to us mortals in the UK waiting for Chanel's summer polishes, they launch today!!

  • @talli8cakes yeah, tell her to stop nicking my jobs as well! Hahahaha....

  • to all you canadians!: bioderma is available in CANADA at shoppers drug mart! xx

  • I'm living in Paris at the moment and am going to MAJORLY stock up for when I have to return to the UK in a few months!! I wonder how long you could keep a bottle for...

    Anyway great video! xx

  • @darkfairy00 I go through one every two months but I cleanse a LOT because of doing videos and testing stuff... x

  • @AModelRecommends Ruth how would I survive without you!!! I cant believe it's so difficult to get in the UK - I wonder how much it actually costs to post compared to what they charge, maybe I should start a Bioderma shipping business! xx

  • oh, I saw you in an old laptop advert thing about colorful laptops and such in a magazine while looking for stuff for art class ;DD i got so excited that i actually saw you in a magazine, freaked my classmates out :) so...yay! you're awesome.

  • @Shimmybaby69 haha, that must be really old! Elle mag? x

  • ruth, i get it off ebay for about £16 for 500ml..i can't copy the link onto youtube but its really reliable I love bioderma and got it first in France but don't spend as much time over there now and needed my fix so went on a whim and tried ebay. suppose i was lucky :) xxx

  • @kellibelliboo thanks! x

  • The garnier one was in my Boots clearance section, I picked it up for about 2 quid :) x

  • @AL1C308 brilliant! x

  • I'm from France and I've been using this for years ^^ So yeah that's a really good product. And Here we have an other REALLY popular "eau micellaire" from AVENE. There are quite the same =)

  • @toomokoisvip ooh yes, I had forgotten that one! I have that too! Ooops.

  • Thanks so much for sharing. I'll have to check it out :)

    ~twyla

  • Fab review Ruth ! Really great info ! I do find that the bioderma does make my eyes puffy sometimes has this ever happened to you too ? Love your Channel !! Hugs Claudia XO

  • @TheClaudiaCouture now and then if I have had to wipe too many times over the eyes - but mostly it's fine! Very good rather xx

  • These cleansers sound really nice!

Just to get this straight: You use them on a cotton pad, like a toner, and don't rinse them off, right?

  • @Yrie27 exactly! x

  • Hi Ruth, thanks so much for sharing the infor!! Just checked out the Caudalie web link, the price is not bad, and they do international free shipping, woo hoo~~ I'm getting it!! I also checked out a few other products on that website, cant believe how much things are cheaper in the UK than in Aus..:(

  • thank you so much , i really enjoyed the video , your are very professional as well :)

  • They do the Garnier here in Germany ..........

  • You can get Bioderma from most pharmacies in Estonia...

  • You can get in at any pharmacy in the Czech Republic, for what that's worth. I live in Prague, that's how I know

  • The Créaline H2O has an equivalent for oily skins too, it's called Sebium H2O... Just so you know, if you're interested in trying it :)

  • Vichy or La Roche Posay are all that we can get here in Ireland, Of these, the Vichy is my preference, v effective & gentle and I like the smell!

  • Hi Ruth,

I was wondering if you have used the Embryolisse Micellar lotion. If so, how did you feel this compared to the Bioderma?

  • @outdoorsole I haven't tried that one! Again - availability issues. Was sticking to ones with free worldwide delivery so easy to get! xx

  • EXCELLENT video. I've been umming and ahhing about ordering Bioderma online for ages now, but after this I think I might try out a couple of these first! x

  • When you say alternative to Bioderma, do you mean it removes make up well? Waterproof mascara and all? X

  • @xxxcarousel no, waterproof mascara needs a dedicated remover - I hardly ever wear waterproof, it drives me mad! x

  • I've just noticed that there are two of my videos on the video suggestions ! It's rare !

    Take care Ruth :)

  • @veryelle14 so there are! x

  • Now I must say that pretty much any french pharmacy brand has a micellar cleansing water and that it would do the same thing but for the formula and the price I think that the Bioderma is the best one.

I've tried the la roche posay one and I didn't like it. There is also a bioderma cleansing water version for combo/oily skin called sebium which is nice but it has parabens and other ingredients that may increase the sensitiveness of the skin contrary to the créaline H2O.

  • I love Bioderma it's the only cleansing water that my skin and my eyes can handle with the Caudalie one. But I always feel that with the bioderma although it's the most gentle product when I'm removing my make up if I don't use a face wash and moisturizer right afterwards my eyes get quite dry.

I think that like any cleansing water , milk oil it needs to be rinsed.

  • @veryelle14 but how would you rinse it?! There's nothing to rinse off! Are we talking about the same product? This one is like the same feeling as using a toner almost? x

  • @AModelRecommends Yes we're talking about the same one. But by rinsing it I mean just splashing some fresh water or spraying some spring water in order to remove the thin layer of product which isn't very comfortable I feel. (Except if I use a cleanser right afterwards which I always do)

I've also heard about that from blogs and youtube channels and I find it quite logical.

  • @veryelle14 hmm, don't know anyone that does this, I'll have a read. At work it is never used like that either - it's supposed to be an all-in-one cleanser so rinsing afterwards or using a toner would make it a bit pointless - especially having to use another cleanser afterwards! I just cleanse and go - but whatever you feel is right for you, there are no rules whatsoever! x

  • i recently found your channel and i love your videos! youre so honest about everything and absolutely hilarious about it. please do a video about book recommendations!! thanks :)

  • Great video! Does Bioderma and all the other cleansers work on waterproof makeup?

  • @Amourjeux no, you'd need a proper eye makeup remover for waterproof x

  • bioderma make a combo/oily version in a blue solution too. But seeing as this is a video about alternatives to bioderma, this comment isn't really helpful! lol

  • I'm going to Lourdes next week and I'm hoping to find this amongst all the tack tastic shops!

    xxx

  • @levisandlipstick ha! Great! x

  • I've never seen the garnier one in US, is it UK only?

  • @imdayday hmmm, not sure. You'd have to google it from your side! Let me know x

  • @AModelRecommends Since you didn't list the name of this garnier cleansing water, I googled with just garnier cleansing water, looks like the product is called Clean Sensitive Moisture Infusion Cleansing Water. But nothing about it sold in US came out, just reviews. The official site also don't have it, but seems like they have it on the UK site.

  • It's funny that you uploaded this video today! Yesterday I bought my first lash queen mascara by Helena Rubinstein in waterproof and last night I realized that the Bioderma Sensibio does not get it off!!! :-D What do I do?!?!

  • @asecretpath oh god, don't talk to me about waterproof mascaras, they drive me up the wall! I find Clinique Take the Day Off (the dual phase pink one) to be quite good, but in general I avoid like the plague! x

  • @AModelRecommends lol, good to know I'm not the only one!! :-D I decided to exchange the mascara instead of the Bioderma! :-D The Diorshow gives me much fuller lashes anyway! :)

  • I have used the bioderma for ages since i am french and my mum and grandma too hehe. If i find alternatives i will let you know, im pretty sure french brands will expand for lotions like these now they are so popular. I have a question Ruth, im looking for that perfect powder bronzer that will give my cheeks a glowy bronze look, what would you recommend?

  • @Glammin69 I am using Estee Lauders Sea Star compact at the moment, it's part of the Bronze Goddess. Very nice. Cheaper ones from Rimmel, and they're very good. x

  • I get my Bioderma at Le guide sante.co.uk for 9.92£

My favourite micellar is the one from Embryolisse...also French

  • Thank you! This was very helpful.

I've tried the La Roche Posay one (precisely after I couldn't get hold of a freaking bottle of Bioderma) and is really good. Very gentle and cleanses really well. I still prefer Bioderma (at this point, I think I'm just being stubborn), but I thought LRP was a really great option too.

    I will try Vichy next!

  • its readily available in canada

  • Embryolisse makes a nice one as well

  • So glad you did this! I was trying my hardest to think of an alternative for those of us in the US this week. I'm trying The Body Shop Camomile Makeup-Remover but its not got micellar. Interested in the Garnier and Claudalie one, Thanks! xx

  • I love these products ! I am obesseseed with la roche posay skin care !

  • I really want to buy the Bioderma but I can't find it here in Australia! There are heaps on Ebay from Hong Kong but i'm worried that they are fakes ... What do you think about the ones on Ebay? Thanks! x

  • @lovespree86 hmmm, I'm never sure about eBay. Lots of people have brilliant luck but I've had fake things that have been a waste of money. And it's the not-knowing part that stresses me! x

  • @lovespree86 There is this online shop from hong kong that do international shipping .it's called cosme-de dot com. They carry bioderma amongst others and they offer free shipping. i think you should check it out if you are interested.it's legit.i found out from another youtuber xx

  • @lovespree86 I don't think Bioderma is popular enough for fakes to be made. I would probably look for a seller in the UK or France to be on the safe side. Bioderma has a plastic seal on it that you have to break off so if you do buy off ebay check this is still on there otherwise don't use and send back!

  • To explain what micellaire means, you could probably think of them as little bubbles that pick up dirt and "caging" them before you wipe it off with your cotton pad or rinse off. xx

  • @yumgify thanks! Nice way of putting it! x

  • Just noticed in your intro video the end shot you look just like Kate moss in the new Dior lip ad campain! Think they copied you, better sort her out!! ;-)

  • @talli8cakes she copies everything I do, to be honest. Bane of my life. Every time I SNEEZE she's there copying me. Hahahaha.....

  • I live in Montreal and bioderma's not that hard to find, you can pretty much buy it in every drugstore here!

  • OMG, in Canada it costs over £14.00 for 250ml, so your getting a good deal

  • my search begins for that garnier product.. thanks for telling us all alternatives to bioderma!

  • so happy that someone's finally made a video about this! i've tried both the bioderma and the caudelie but i still think bioderma is better.

  • great vid as always ruth. Btw, i saw your face in 'look' magazine and i got all excited like oooooooooo i know her i know her! my friend was like huhhh??haha xx

  • @elisaaworks0209 yay! x

  • my fellow canadians you can get bioderma at shoppers drug mart (yay) !

  • Have you tried the Dior or the Lancome cleansing waters?

  • @TheLizHaley yes but I wanted to stick to things that said Micellar on them! Haha. Keep things neat. The Dior is nice but VERY expensive for what it is - not that that usually stops me. I have the Iris water, it's nice but no better than these. x

  • @AModelRecommends Thank you for the quick response! You're the best! By the way your hair is looking extra lovely in this video x

  • Isn't it amazing how the cheapest one has a pump! Goes to show how inexpensive it must be to include one on a product! Take note higher end brands, WE WANT PUMPS! Especially on foundations lol.

  • @MsBeautyObsessed haha! x

  • would you use cotton wool to apply these products? x

  • @brianyes yes x

  • Oh I've tried that Garnier one but in a lotion. Really liked it but it ran out quite quick. Will definitely try that one out!

  • Decleor has a cleansing water, which I think is great! I don't know if it has the "micellaire" formula, though.

  • Thanks for doing this video! Think I'll be waiting until I go to France to repurchase the bioderma and give the garnier a whirl instead! :)

  • Thx for this, but I love my Bioderma!

Saw you in the Rimmel ad in LOOK magazine today, gorgeous!

  • Ruth, do you still use your Clarisonic? I'm debating whether or not I should purchase one :S

  • @Enginold yes, I use it a few times a week when it has charge - I always forget to charge it, but it is brill! x

  • I am in love with the Le Roche Posay sample kit that you recommended. I have fallen for so many of their products the £10 off next purchase is a god send!!

  • @lyndseyp87 amazing isn't it?! x

  • They sell it in Canada, for quite cheap. Its my fave!!

  • I can't believe we don't have this in London! Shame really because I really want to try it!

  • Thanks for these helpful reviews! Your twitter is hilarious!

  • omg in the chemistry exam I just did at uni I was writing about soaps etc and totally forgot the word mycelle and was sitting for ages trying to think what it was haha so thanks for reminding me! ..a week later... :P I'm glad you reviewed the Bioderma, I've been wondering if its actually worth the hype! x

  • @gillianbaybaii oh dear! Sorry I didn't do this a few weeks ago!! x
