1580 WAJE Ebensburg, PA during Blizzard of 1983

This blizzard was Feb 11, 1983. I was 7. I remember it, I lived in the Philadelphia suburbs.

I remember this station and I miss it. Also the station on 1400 khz that was runned by St Francis College WWSF-AM

Everyone forgets this Bilzzard, I was a Senior in High School in NY and it was a friday night the storm started, it was wicked wind, up to my knees within a few hrs I remeber when I had to walk my dogs

Hello! The blizzard was on February 12, 1983. It was a heavy snowstorm here in Philly. I never recorded any AM stations in stereo. It probably sounds like that because of variations on the left and right channel. I am glad to see someone is listening and enjoying my radio videos!

Interesting, I nowremember there being some rough weather in Michigan then too. I wasn't really into DXING then, but when I got into it in about 1989-90 usic was gradually leaving AM and moving to FM. Did you ever get anything from Michigan besides WJR?

Interesting, when did you get that? I'd be interested in hearing it some time. It's sports now, and prior to that it was talk radio with a lot of the national icons, but in the mid 80's it was talk, but it was all local with people who knew about the area and the types of people in the area!

I used to listen to WXYZ around 79 - 81. I don't have any recordings of WXYZ. I do have 1/2 and hour of the station from 1990 when it was WXYT.

They went to WXYT around 1984 or so. I'm not sure to what extent they were national in about 1990, but it was a gradual thing.
