  • yes the events that led to the writing of this song is beyond sad but also inspiring to say the least.

  • All is well as long as we're entrusted in the Christ's hands.

  • I have been a worship leader for many years now. It bugs me to the core, and it should bug you too if you proclaim to love God, that Hillsong piggy backs off original Christian classics only to "polish" them up so YOU can go to your local Christian bookstore and buy that album for 15 or 20 dollars. They have no right in the name Jesus to go and rewrite another mans words simply for one thing. So that you buy their records and go to their concerts.

  • @jethro8875 Hillsong does not have concerts. They do, however, have album recordings that are free events available to anyone. Why should it matter that people are willing to pay for a song that still holds the same message and deep meaning beneath the lyrics? It even says in the description that the proceeds go towards the QLD flood relief appeal. As a worship leader, you should be excited that classics are being continued in a fresher form.

  • We are free to disagree and not like a song. I will tell you what erks me about Hillsong. This song, in its purest form, was written about one mans tragedy and how his surrender to Gods will and the ensueing glory that became of that. Hillsong decided in their great and mighty wisdom that the words of Horatio Spafford are not sufficient for their recording. Why? The albums you buy. I challenge all of you to look and see the true motivation of why this song has been changed. It is purely for $.

  • So if you dislike a song it means you don't know god? Pff... Christains..

  • Love this song!! I sent it to someone I know. He is suffering from ALS.

  • What is exactly the story behind this?

I know it's talking about, whatever God does, I'm fine with it. Kinda?

  • 3 people don't know God

  • All is well with my soul, because I don`t have any. No evidence. NONE

  • i like this song .... the beats and rhythm plus the word is so fantastic

    its a relaxing one

  • i agree with DanielsSelf... the song is so anointed itself

  • Where does one buy the album?

  • Download free motion backgrounds for your church at our channel!

  • It is indeed well

  • God won't give us what we can't bear "

    T____T

  • The story is indeed sad. But we shouldn't forget that this song is not a song of lamentation, but a declaration of hope and peace. I will not claim to understand the pain Horatio must have felt, and God forbid that I down-play it's magnitude. But He is bigger; He is greater; and His love is deeper. Is now, has been, and forever will be.

  • @SquirrelOnIce Except towards the gays.

  • @SuperStitchesTim I'm not sure if you meant that cynically, but either ways your statement is wrong. Christianity is against homosexuality, not against homosexuals. Sin deserves punishment, but sinners have been granted redemption. We are all sinners, so who are we to condemn anyone?

  • @SquirrelOnIce You're kidding me right? Please tell me you're joking...

  • @SuperStitchesTim Actually, no, i'm not joking. Could you do more than post cynical one-liners? It doesn't quite help establish much of a debate or argument, which seems to be what you're keen on starting.

  • @SquirrelOnIce

Sóme christians are against homosexuality.. not everyone

  • @twinkl80 That is true. But that is a debate I don't find substantial. Read 1 Timothy 1:9-10. I believe the bible is unambiguous about its position on homosexuality, so the Christians who say homosexuality is okay either have to explain how that fits with the bible, or concede that the bible is fallible.

  • LOVE IT !!!!

  • just search at wikipedia....this hym was written after several traumatic events in Spafford's life...first was death of his only son shortly folowed by the Great chicago fire, which ruined him financially and the death of his 4 daughter....just try to search on wiki...GOD BLESS ALL

  • A fine example of how a hymn should be left alone.

  • Beautiful song...so much aroha for Christ out saviour!!

  • I remember being at church (Hillsong Sydney City Campus) when the story was narrated in a form of a short sketch, followed by the song. It was so dramatic that I welled up. I never knew the story behind this song. What an inspiration...

  • this is a great song i love it

  • type the song name in google then go to the wikipedia site--even tells of this song being redone in 2011

  • ESTA PRECIOSA ESTA ALABANZA

  • @picodevane for those people who don't speak Spanish it means "THIS IS BEAUTIFUL PRAISE"

  • Going through a rocky time end of last year, and this song (not this version) kept me going, kept my faith - and am so glad Hillsongs have brought this out.

  • sure, it's at the end of this srmon:

    wwwdotmarshillchurchdotorg /media/rebels-guide-to-joy/the-rebels-guide-to-joy-in-death

It starts near the end, about 1:01=]

  • There's a tragic story behind this song. But it's also really inspiring. I'd encourage you to check out=]

  • @m4ttieE never knew that, could you let me know where I could find the story? :)

  • @DanielsSelf I know the story cause it's the reason my mom loves this song. The guy who wrote the original song years ago was on a train with his wife and it crashed. He could have gotten out but she was somehow stuck and though she told him to leave they say he stayed to hold her hand and as the flames burned them to death people outside said they head as he sang this song to her.

  • @TheShadowOfRaven

Isnt this song written after the tragic death of his 4 daughters on a ship?

  • @KiinoSoko ??? I don't think so. I never heard that story though.

  • @TheShadowOfRaven

well, wiki said so and according to some videos on youtube that said the same thing.

  • @KiinoSoko Okay, Ijust checked it out. After the ship thing he wrote the song, the part I was talking about is how he died after the song was written.

  • @TheShadowOfRaven

    oh, that's .. sad.

This man really went thru a lot :<

  • @KiinoSoko Actually I just realized you were talking about Spafford. I was taliking about Bliss, my bad. What happened was Spaffords son died, his daughters died on the ship and he wrote this song for them. When Horatio Spafford died of malaria the song was left to Philip Bliss who finished the rest of the song before dying in a train accident. It took me a minute to realize we were talking about to different guys involved in the song, try looking up both names for more of the story.

  • @TheShadowOfRaven My bad we were talking about two different guys. When Spafford died his song was left to Philip Bliss and Philip did some stuff to the song. It was Spafford died of malaria and Bliss died in the train accident. You can try checking both of those names to get the whole story.

  • @DanielsSelf Search this song with Guy Penrod. he tells the story in full. It will make you appreciate the song even more.

  • @DanielsSelf i heard that story before, , wintley phipps told it before he sang this song at a show, its a tragic story, but one we can alll learn from
