The sphere's contain the skybox, and the cube contains the textures. Look up the Halo Reach "Allspark".

hey for people who want to fly one at full size ima tell u how. just follow generals steps but when you get in the seraph, you have to crash in another and do the same technique to find and get into it. by then you should be in a full size seraph. thumbs up so people can see!!!

theres also another cutscene glitch on that map but u have to have two or more ppl and have to get down with the space fight. when ur down with the space fights and the dude tells u to dock in the space station if one the the two ppl runs into the middle one (the one u dock in) just before the waypoint appears and kill ur self then have the other dude go to the waypoint and it should show the one who ran through it their body should appear when u dock i found it playing with my cusion

The shrews and cube are the skybox and the world, I think the cube is a miniature version of the out of bounds parts of the map, and two sky spheres which have the clouds in them.

The spheres and cubes are what creates the map. If you modded the spheres out you would see just blank white because you would have modded out the level. Cool vid. By the way when you are in the seraph can you still fly back to the objective?

@nyhmrocks1 lol. ok. well heres some tips. if theres a jump you cant make with a normal jump but isnt high enough that you need to grenade jump just use the crouch jump. jump than once you reach the highest pint in your jump before you fall hit the crouch button and itll pull you up a little bit. its tough to time and is impossible to do with toggle crouch on but is usful if you want to get up a ledge without doing any damage to yourself.

I'm not sure about how bungie made the maps for reach. but i think i know what the big box is. If you google how to make a map for halo custom edition then you have to make a box in modeling the map that is the frame and link everything to it. this makes the actual surface of the terrain collideable, so you can walk on it rather then just fall through like with some of those rocks. so that may or may not be what the big box is. the spheres look like reflection tests to me. just my from knowledge

@kurosakiguido Actually the reason you can't wander outside the maps in some of the other halo games is because bungie put invisible walls in to restrict you. Yes some of the outside map things were 2D images but some of too was modeling. Kind of a mix. Again just from my experience in playing around with game design :P

If you ever glitched yourself outside a test chamber in ether portal 1 or 2, you see that you actually walk trough series of boxes. Oh lol and i remember on gta3 years ago, i fell with my car trough the road, and it would just fall in this endless pit for hours if i didn't get sick of it :P

@Drakadh I think (as a game developer myself) they might be light/ambient modifiers in an actual form so the developers can find them back. The big square might be something similair maybe an "controlling" class that just holds some global variables and drives the story movies, checkpoints, enemy spawning, etc.

The spheres on the outside of the map are what is used to texture the map. They give the map its graphics. All the land you can see is coded into those spheres and they hide them outside the map so you can't see them but they can do their work, It is impossible to code a map without spheres or other objects like these to provide textures. Just ask Bungie i'm sure they'll tell you the same thing.
