Yes the ban has started 1st jan 2012 in the south of holland and it should come start dec 2012 or jan 2013 in Amsterdam it was passed in July but still had to go to 1st chamber in dec 2011, I've been following the the story for over 2year when it finally come to pass in Amsterdam I will be moving back long live weed!

The government has temporarily delayed a nationwide implementation this year. Ivo Opelstein and the conservative government though do intend to enforce the pass nationwide in 2013; despite objections from the mayor of Amsterdam. We will have to wait and see the results, but this is most definitely their intention. They also are trying to find a way to enforce a 15% thc limit on cannabis in coffee shops. How and when that will be enforced has yet to be determined, for now.
