Its always a treat to see Judy in Color.She looks amazing in red.. I wish the Judy Garland was filmed and filmed in color instead of black and white video tape. I love Lucky was all done on film and the quality is still excellent 6O yrs later.
This period was truly her last hurrah. The voice was shaky--tho her first Hollywood Palace appearance was a miracle!--but still powerful, and this was her perfect weight. She is much less jittery on most of the TV spots she did at this time; quite diferent from so much of her series.
I think that Perry Como was most successful in bringing out the real Judy! On the other hand, Andy was quite nice to Judy during this show:) My favorite is Judy's duet with Andy...I do believe that Judy was set for another appearance with Andy but for some reason, it didn't happen. Andy Williams should have allowed Judy to take in the audience's appreciation, and for her to do her customary 'blow-kisses'. Instead he walks on with the 'mirror' totally oblivious to this. I sense Judy's awkwardness at this point: totally understandable considering her acute perceptive sensitivity as a person.
Absolute Class! Judy still makes me "Happy" ... :-)
