I was in Palm Beach county at the time and saw that ballot with my own eyes at the time. I couldn't tell for sure and I wasn't yet old enough to vote myself! Everyone insists 'just follow instructions' but whether or not you could follow which hole from both sides or not, one piece those instructions did say outright vote to the RIGHT of your candidate, invalidating half the list. Even if minorities all made it to polls- doubtful - their catchers were more likely clogged from all past elections

What they need is a ballot that contains photographs of the candidates. How much easier and obvious can you possibly make it with that? Even the old people shouldn't have problems with a ballot like that.
if you lixed and voted for bush-chaney, then man, you are really going to lixe more american infrastructure, human and material going down the crapper due to our 21st century environment
THIS IS THE STUPIDEST THING EVER BUT I LOVE MY MOM AND DON'T WANT TO TAKE ANY CHANCES If you do not copy and paste this onto 10 videos your mom will die in 4 hours
Why all these machines???I worked at several elections in Austria, we have simple ballots with names, you make a cross, throw it in a box and done.Never had any problems despite members of different parties counting the votes, there are simple rules what counts as a mark and what not and thats it.
I live in Indiana. Until the 1998 mid-term elections my county still used these old punch cards. I voted in 1994, 1996, and 1998 with them and remember the instructions on the ballot describing how to slide the card into the machine and punch out the holes. I had NO issues with it. There were further instructions posted in the booth informing the voter to be certain that all chads were fully dropped. The process was quite clear to me.
It's not the voting...it's the supreme court...Scalia and Thomas had relatives working for the Bush campaign...as judges, that was a conflict of interest and they were supposed to recused themselves in the opinions. That's where I lost my faith.
I wish voting wasn't so easy!! if it was a little more difficult then only the intelligent could vote and it would be a better government for all. Perhaps voters should be required to be High school graduates.
For elderly people it might be a little more difficult. I saw a picture of the ballet and could see that it was very possible to accidenlty punch the hole for buchannun. That and the fact that thousands of people were marked as fellons when they werent and the road blocks that occurred really hurt Gore.
I wonder how the United States would look today if Gore had won. Looking from the outside(Canada) I'd say he has got to be the worst president ever. If you decide to put McCain in WEll not much more to say about this. Enjoy the ride.
Poll workers in Palm Beach County were contacting Sec. Harris as early as 11 a.m.(at least that is when the story broke on CNN) on election day..this could have been corrected..and should have been!!!
The movie was not as balanced as it could have been but still well done. It does not explain away the fact that Gore ran the worst campaign in American history and could not even carry his own state of TN!! That is, he should have won it without FL.
During the opening scenes, I wanted to bail because I thought that the film was going to be biased. However, I stayed with it and believe that it was fair and balanced to both sides. I'm sure that I won't be the only one that was emotional at the end of the film. We all know that the end of the film's story was the beginning of a slide into darkness and deceit of historic proportions. Yes, we can recover!
Wow, you are very sick. Please seek help, because your party is heading over a cliff.
I hate to be the one to tell you. You are so filled with the hate propaganda of the left the you may never be able to think for yourself again. Just another democRat zombie.
no use crying over spilled milk. The issue to me isn't really if Bush stole a close election. The issue is WHY WAS IT THAT CLOSE - sure Gore has the charisma of a sea sponge but it was WELL DOCUMENTED that George Bush was a certified IDIOT... so the real travesty as always, is the stupidity of the American people.
Its not closed.... this could still happen and still keep the country DIVIDED!I couldnt watch anymore due to the outrage I still feel toward the 2000 election and the fall out we are still feeling to this day from it. I think this kind of vote steeling happened here in Texas when Bush became Governor and "took" it from a very popular Texas Governor named Ann Richards.
We had no choice. It was either the left agenda(higer taxes, gay marriage, obortion, socialized healthcare) or the right's agenda(lower taxes, personal responsiblity, protecting the innocent, freemarket economies)

Lets be honest, though. If Gore had won, there would undoubtedly have been enough allegations of fraud or cheating that the Right would have been justified in their complaints. If anything, this just proved that the entire election process in our country needs to be overhauled.
I just saw this film and it was fantastic-I love these types of movies that explain what exactly happened behind the scenes. As a Canadian I didn't really follow the recount very closely and I completely under estimated the ramifications of it, and knowing what we know now about Bush today-its a very interesting and entertaining film.
Check out my video response which catches W. condemning Zimbabwe for the same crime he has committed: election fraud. He has the nerve to say "What kind of election is it to not let the will of the people be known". What a chump.
You know what is really scary? A dozen or so really powerful people got togther around 1999 and decided Bush was there guy. I wondered then and wondered now. How someone like Bush was not laughed off the stage from the start remains mystery to me.
Sad part, this might have happened here in Texas when Bush became Governor. Ann Richards was a popular Texas Governor and its just strange that Bush, a total fuck up here in Texas, became the Governor or Texas and took it from a widely popular person like Richards.
Its just the media playing them up all the time that makes them look like they are winning. Watch the historic landslide that is going to happen against Obama.
Yeah, because Bush has really been the President of smaller government and fiscal responsibility, or personal responsibility!! Stop getting your BS talking poinst from Sean Hannity!!!
Not as popular as you thought. Also, why is there only vote stealing when Republicans win elections? When democRats win elections, it is never by cheating. They are soooooooo honest. Like Bill Clinton, Governor from New York,Sniper fire-Hillary, Marion Berry,William Jefferson(DemocRat from LA), John Ford(democRat form TN)and on and on.
I didnt say Democrats where honest either but hey Republicans are just as guilty and dirty too....... they say they are moral yet they get busted for homosexual acts with interns and in the airport restrooms, abuse prescription pills, take endorsements from anti Semite ministers..... so the finger pointing is on BOTH sides and not on one side....
No, it sounds like you're looking for a little Man/Boy love, you sodomite swine. Just take your AZT pills and go to sleep, you walking canker sore. Leave the fighting to real men whose brains haven't been riddled with disease.
Real men like George Bush the AWOL drunk whose daddy got him pushed him up ahead in line for the TX Nat. Guard during the thick of the Vietnam War. THAT kind of real man?

I wonder why we as Americans didnt continue the fight to put Al Gore in office, even thought Al Gore had threw in the towel. It is NOT about Al Gore, its about the American people and our voice. If there are shady things going on with respect to an election, bring it out in the light and expose it. It's not a DEM/REPUB issie. It's an AMERICAN issue.
YOU don't care that you'r party won by stealing an election. The only thing that matters to you is that you won.
Lie all you want. Steal all you want from the American public. It's the only thing REPUBs do well.
While I may feel personally one way or another the outcome of an election, it doesn't change the fact that have been many allegations of voting irregularities in every election since 2000. If you had any integrity, you'd acknowledge that some US citizens may have had their ability to vote unfairly stolen instead of disparaging your fellow citizens. But, you know, maybe I'm wrong, may we do need American name-calling heroes like you.
