Should the earth hide its medicines from the world or those who need it? It doesn't, everything is there to find. If the world is sick shall we hold back medicines making more sickness? I believe it is up to the creator of the healing to make the decision to share or not but knowing it can heal others can bring great guilt, dis-ease/disharmony keeping it to oneself. When humanity is poisioned/sick it cannot feel the pain it has caused upon another & allows further harm/sickness to continue.

These are not songs you can sing going down the bread aisle at your local grocery store. Thank you for this healing. I grew up in a beautiful azalea forest in Atlanta, Georgia. It was sacred to me. It must have been sacred to anyone who might have lived there before. By the time I was grown, it had all been destroyed to build suburbs.Not one wild azalea survives there. I remember when I was 4 wanting to grow antlers as in this video. I remember before I could talk.Everything is sacred. Revere everything.

Sage, Cedar, Sweetgrass, and Tobacco, living in the dakotas these are things that are very easy to get. If you are to come across any say a prayer with the best intentions and give thanks if you are to pick some. Prayer has been known to change the molecules of water, mixed with any of the above i'm sure it would be stronger. These songs belong in the sundance and not on youtube. These are sacred songs. There are songs that are never to be recorded. They call ancestors amongst other things. These are not songs you can sing going down the bread aisle at your local grocery store. If your heart really needs healing seek help, seek medicine, ask some of the posters which i am sure have contacts to get help. The integrity and truth and real meaning of these songs is far beyond anything over 99.9% of the youtube community could really understand, myself included. Your intention is good, but I fear you are not really knowledgeable when it comes to Lakota culture. Wisdom and teachings are shared with those who are ready. I am not ready. Most are not ready. I wonder if there if the frustration with this posting should be at the elder who recorded it in the first place, and then marketed it. yes this is a lakota sun dance song, very holy--but also recorded on various tapes etc--often made by elders so young people can learn the songs--then tape wanders out into the big world. Same for the NAC songs you find here--many are very old or someone's personal or family songs. So since it is now 'public' for good or bad please respect it, learn about where it comes from, what it means, etc. For instance, it's not wahancanka--Ate Wakan Tanka unsimalayo: Father (God) have pity on us all

I understand and respect what the traditionalists say about "sacred songs", however I feel I must share my views. these are new times and things change, we must change too. there are many urban Indians who do not have access to and elder or a medicine person, we do not get invited to ceremonies and we are kept out of the communities because of our "urbaness". I may never have gotten to hear these words that heal my heart, so I say thank u for posting this. All my relations, we are one nation.

I dont think sacred songs should be passed on like this...i know this song, danced to it several times at sundances where i pierced...sing it in sweats....good song,. but its losing its power the more ppl dont use it the right way...these songs were givien by Tunkasila, and he gave them for ceremonies....
