he actually made 3 mistakes there, one he had too much speed through the corner making him slide out to the gravel, 2 he put too much lock on to get back onto the track, and 3 he didnt countersteer enough into the drift before going onto the grass :)

Instead of flooring it and quickly trying to get back in the race, the driver should of let the sand slow his car back down to a stable speed before safely merging back on the track. Sand pits are designed on the track to help save your car. The grass area is not. Driving on grass will behave like ice at those speeds.
