  • great

  • ha ha...you guys need to go up to the state of maine and learn how to load log's

  • @340duhcota But the average load on a truck in europe is higher than the USA-Canada. But they both do the job where they built for.

  • is that 700 hp bet i cost a bit to run need to be running 24 hours a day . mind diesel is £7 a gall here

  • @yorkshiretractors Volvos FH16 700 has the same milage as the 660... My guess would be that it takes 40l/100km wich is 7.062 mpg

  • HOW DOES YOUR TRUCK LOAD IT SELF WE CAN LOAD OUR OWN LOGS WITH TRUCK THE ONLYTHING I DON,T LIKE EOROPEAN TRUCKS IS THE FLAT FRONT ENDS WE HAVE THEM HER TO YOU CAN GET INTO TIGHTER SPOTS I DON,T LIKE DRIVING THEM I LIKE YOUR TRUCKS I THINK THERE SET UP NICE

  • Coolt!

  • You should come to canada to see our log trucks

  • @mrspydog50 well, sure you´ve got heavier loads etc. but your problem is that your trucks can´t load themselves, the ones in Sweden can :P

  • I would prefer that it was a B-Triple rather than a double with a converter dolly.

At least you can feel what is happening down the back of the set compared to this idea. Tracks straighter with less yawing on the road.

  • Don't know what "GCW" is but isn't the gross weight on this Volvo FH16 660, one-more-pile-rig like 90 tonnes?

  • sorry but it is a Volvo FH16 660 not a 700

  • A good project, and passing a 30 meter long truck isn't that much harder than passing a 25.25 meter one.

  • As it has more axles than an ordinary timbertruck that extra heap of timber get's spread over a larger area so in fact the axle pressure is lower on this truck. This means that the truck doesn't have to do as much travelling to get the same amount of timber from the terminal to the mill, mind you, half of the driving is empty. And the truck isn't meant to drive all the way out in the forrest, where roads are narrow and turning isn't that easy, it's buildt to drive between terminals and mills.

A rest me case!

  • not posible on regular roads

  • @stjepko357 in Sweden it is possible to drive them on regular roads: The roads (average countryside road) are quite wide compared to countries like Norway or Germany. The curves are most of the time not so hard, many intersections are big so it's possible to go around without big problems
