  • How does this work?

  • ok back to 9gag

  • SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

  • I need the diamond one so bad.

  • Dragon Balls for ALL the 9gaggers!

  • fancy but what's the point? by the time the shape is complete your ice cube is already half way done melting so when you put it in your drink it'd just water it down really quickly.

  • if i ever get super rich, this is the first thing im buying

  • making ice lvl. ASIAN

  • looks like an easy thing to build if you want to etch the molds yourself.

  • This is awesome! * o* but i just like Shiney See through icey things! xD

  • Be sure to use distilled water, normal tap water makes it look like shit.

  • this seems kinda likw a waste of time

  • @1369superman1369 nope its not

  • where can i get this shit?

  • @elemental12345678900 Seriously? They put the link in the description and in the video.

  • Too slow to use...

  • My god... What has ice become? Points to anyone who gets the reference.

  • Ice ball man :D

  • Comment removed

  • I would willingly curse at people and instigate altercations if that enabled me to get this... for free.

  • Oh Japan, i love your lolis and your gadgets

  • Now teach us how to make clear ice

  • @leonidhaimov Make it in layers. ;) Freezing large amounts of water (like a tray full of water) causes air bubbles to be created. Commercial makers use a drip-plate... water comes in an freezes in thin sheets on top of previous layer - no trapped air bubbles. It's tough to replicate at home, though, in the refrigerator's freezer unless you can dedicate some space and time to it.

  • @C5Rigzz Or just buy filtered water and boil 2 times, and put it to the freezer, that's it. You've got crystal clear ice.

  • @leonidhaimov I'm thinking that has more to do with removing cloudiness caused by minerals. Different water sources may yield better/worse results on that front. However, totally clear ice is a mechanical process via freezing in layers, so I think boiling would help in that aspect but you'd still need to contend with the age old premise of how clear ice is formed.

  • @C5Rigzz Nah I already tried the way I describe in my last comment. And It's clear!

  • @leonidhaimov Dang, dude, can you bottle up some of that water and send it to our municipal utilities? Mountain stream ours is not.

  • @C5Rigzz LOL municipal utilities doesn't have filtered water?

  • @leonidhaimov They like to use air quotes when they say words like "filtered." :D

  • gotta git me one!

  • oh that is so freakin cool, but wouldnt the ice that is melted be a waste of energy? ie. using electricity to freeze a block of ice only to have 50% melt away in a matter of seconds. 0_0 much electricity?

  • I would buy the diamond one, and put the ice into my bing

  • i only have one question: ...why?

  • @stevendidntsay Because im boring of Ice Cube xD

  • whats next? cubed watermelons? oh thats right, they already have those! O__o

  • If it's not for sale: Friggin' nwice!

If it's for sale: "Shut up and take my money!"

  • I do NOT want to be working at the bar that brings that in-all night long the drunk cheap bitches -"Noooo, I want an amaretto sour with that ice ball thingie"

    Hell to the NO!

  • I want to throw that Icy Baseball.

  • Check out the third video in the suggestions list.

  • Howdotheydothat!!??!!

  • japans definitely has enough water to make ice balls now

  • @OCDlosp ouch

  • @OCDlosp not enough nuclear power plants to make the ice though lol

  • @triniguy999 numnut

  • DO WANT

  • This could be cool for a party or something but if a bartender dropped a piece of ice that size in my drink he is not gettin a fucking tip.

  • Soooooooooo useless!!!!!!!

  • I actually want this so much!

  • ok so uhh what the hell is the purpose of this thing?

  • @xXyourmomsballsXx

    party tricks

  • @Alignn thats what my dicks for.

  • First it needs 96'370 Joule electricity to cool 1 kg ice from 23°C to 0°C, then again 333'500 Joule to make it solid, furthermore 83'800 Joule to go from 0°C to -20°C. After all that wonderful cooling this tool heats half of the ice away to make it's shape, what needs another 257'000 Joule. To produce all that energy and transport it to the plug and use it in a fridge, one needs to burn 200g wood.

And all that in the time of renewable energy... It's cool but it takes us back to stone age...

  • @MrPfunzle isnt 200g of wood like 1" by 2" block.... thats not that much (im guesstimating of course but 200g of anything isnt a whole lot, and if i misread your post , i apologize)

  • @geterhero It might not be a lot first. But if you make it for 5 people you need 1 kg and if you do it at a party you need a whole tree. And if anyone does it in the world there is no tree left...

  • @MrPfunzle if everyone uses 1 gram of wood a day, 6 billion grams is like 13..2 million pounds (give or take), the average tree weighs 1500 pounds (again, an estimate) which is about 8800 trees. theres about 335 trees per acre in every forest in the US, so that means we only need 26 acres of trees a day for the entire world to run this thing and theres 736,681,000 acres of forestry in the US... thatll last us 77,627 years, im pretty sure we're safe considering no one uses wood as power lol

  • @geterhero my bad, i misread, you said 200g... that'll last us 388 years, and considering it only takes 30 years for a tree to reach maturity :/

  • @geterhero That's cool calculating. We should do more like this. It actually means with 200g wood (for 1 ICE-Ball per day) all the people in the world would burn 5200 acres of forestry. That's still impressive - but there are lot's of people in the world and that's difficult to grasp. And you're right no one would burn wood that for. But let's say 200g of wood has aproximately the same sice as the ICE used for one ball. For every ball beeing formed, this amount of wood would have to be burned.

  • Awesome. But it will probably knock your teeth out when your going for a sip : P

  • the idea is good, results are great, but like, a huge block of ice into a small ball?

seems like a waste to make a huge ice block into a small ball.

what if you're serving 20 people? how the heck are you gonna keep up?

  • Look again, YOUR ICE IS NOW DIAMONDS.

  • @Godfreh so if you threw your ice diamonds on a carpet, would they be diamonds in the ruff? (Aladin) lol!!

  • dearrrr santa...

  • why would you need something like that

  • Wouldn't it be easier to just have molds where you pour your water into? Rather than wait for one block of ice melt for maybe 10 minutes with something that costs like 2000 bucks?

  • @iamevildoing It's for fancy bars and hotels that want gimmicky things like this.

  • @iamevildoing It costs 200.

  • What size ice ball is that?

  • It's not 2000 people it's 200

  • @taruzzz $205 at Japantrends website. I have this, and it's absolutely perfect if you own a bar like a sushi-bar, and you want to show off a little to your customers and friends.

  • @taruzzz That's for the small one, the big one is 1.7k i think.

  • @taruzzz The Ice Ball addon starts at 1,177 US

  • P.S. I hear that if you freeze ice slower it apparently looks more clear and transparent, but I just use a normal fridge and they come out non-transparent, it gives them more character that way though. It looks amazing inside a drink that way.

  • They obviously speed up the video showing the melting... if you have patience a standard sphere ice mold will make 4 balls from water in a few hours, and they cost less than $5...

  • May I ask what song is used in this video?

  • how does that works ?

  • wow.."I'll have diamond ice in my drink please!!"....'.that be an extra $50bucks! :'| ' ...oh..

    pretty cool!

  • elite*****

  • Why should I spend 1820 USD retail plus 181 shipping when a normal cube just does the same to my drink???

  • @MirkodiWallenberg

If you're a bar owner this could be a pretty good investment to make your run of the run of the mill cocktails feel all that more unique than everybody else's. 2000 bucks isn't that big of deal to spend for business investments. Especially for those high end bars you see at luxary hotels.

  • @MirkodiWallenberg it's not the same at all.. ice ball melts a lot slower so your drink will stay chilled and not become watery at the end... this is a must have for all whiskey drinkers

  • @steviewondaful I'd say you're better off with the home plastic mold version unless you're a bar. 2000 Is too much for a normal person and although the plastic molds are a bit more work they also do a fine job. I got one from Maker's Mark and I love it.

  • @Makron5 It costs 200.
