I think of it as plants in different pots. The one with the most resources, is healthier. The other ones can get there but have under-developed branches at their infancy. You can change someone's height but not infinitely. Limited thoughts and your brain uses those utmost.
I think, loosely, our thoughts are our brain's environment. The more different thoughts your brain takes in the richer it becomes. Read a book. It's harder when you are older because your infancy was underdeveloped.
Also, the comment you made about the percentage of Americans beleiving in external locus of control and that earth was created from space kind of baffled me that so many people, if your facts are correct, believe this. The only person I know who thought that way about space was my Western Civ. teacher my sophmore year at college.I have not heard it since.Even then, the entire class thought he was a nut.I tried to keep an open mind as I do with everything, but I fear for those students who have him
I agree with the comments you made about people who have been misinformed and cannot dicern fact from theory. There is too much on television, online, and even in books that you cannot be too sure of anymore. I do not even want to watch television because I feel like I am wasting my time on useless information with which they are trying to spoon feed me. You made very good points and I learned some more about the Nature/Nurture debate. I did not know that glial cells affected the brain so much.
all, during the early stages of development are influenced more (or so they believe) by the natural processes of the family environment thus leading us to arrive at an early conclusion of nature, so that individuals stay within indoctrinated parameters, whereas those who investigate deeper begin to percieve, unravel and understand humanity and its place within the ranking of species native to this planet.

My personal experience has led me to change my mind, it is nature rather than nurture that is the determining factor.
