Got this videocard: its an epic fail. Totally unstable under win7-64, with random crash and gray stripes on the screen. No way to let this car to work even at stock frequencies. Never Sapphire again.
As it's written in the full article: The cooler just reaches 44% in Crysis (70% in FurMark) and keeps the card cooler than the stock cooler. It also is a bit quieter (see the link in the description)
This graphics card is amazing, very low temperatures than the reference design. When I got it in March 2010 the idle temperature was 35C degrees and 45C degrees in load. Now in summer the temperature have rised to 10 degrees. If I had a 5870 with a reference design the temperature would have arise above 70 degrees C.
Yes it is loud but you guys don't think about something. It is coolder than the normal HD5870 even at lower rpm's so you don't need to put a rpm higher than 60-70%.
It is anyway more silent than nVidia also.nVidia is louder even than the normal HD5870,so,it's the quieter you can get with those performances.Also Vapor-x it's fastest with 10% than normal one.
I had a 5870! LOOOOOVED it =) If Fermi turns out to be a piece of crap im getting two of these! =) Unless they release a 5970 Vapor X Edition! Then its ON!
my 4870 toxic sounds like that at 100% fan speed.
which is why i dont run it at 100% :)

When you change the rpm manualy to 100% ofcourse it gets loud.

the fermi is shitter and costs more.. its only good because of the image quality, physX and cuda. it also reaches temps of 100 degrees on full load.
