The first thing to know is that it is a "Physician Assistant" NOT "Physician's Assistant". We fought a long time for this title... Please get it right.... Thanks for the help for those trying to decide on what to do with their Arts/Science degree... It doesn't ALWAYS have to be a science degree... Talk to your school... Some of my classmates were Lit majors with medical experience outside their degree... If you have interest, check it out!!!
Thanks for the great video. The PA profession is awesome and I really enjoy it. I also love helping those who want to become PA's. If this is you, feel free to visit my channel. Good luck to you.
This entire video is either imprecise, inaccurate, or just plain incorrect. At the very best, it's misleading. There's no such thing as a "bachelor's degree in Pre-med." You don't need to be a fellow of the AAPA to become a PA. You don't have to work for a single doctor, you can be employed by hospitals as well. People that are serious about becoming a Physician Assistant should do their own research instead of listening to someone that doesn't know what she's monotonously rambling about.
I agree with paepin89. There is no such thing as a Pre-Med major. There are majors such as biomedical sciences, however these are not required to attend medical school. A student can major in any subject they wish and attend medical school as long as they take pre-med courses. This often consists of a year of the following: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. Some institutions require Math, English, and Humanities courses as well. I would believe it is the same for PA schooling.
Before you make a video to tell someone HOW to do something, you should really look into it more.
It is NOT preferable to have a degree in biology. In fact only 40% of the students accepted get a B.S. The other 60% major non-science studies. This is true to pre-meds as well. The medical schools want to create a diverse student body.
Also there is no such major as PRE-MED. Pre-Med Schools accept any majors.

I can't stand when people butcher the name. Good Morning America messed up royally with this too. How hard is it to say it without the 's?
