A couple of points I would like to make about reintroducing these creatures if it so happened.
1. I grew up in a market town, and in rural areas if these creatures are around, when food is scarce in winter, people and animals will probably be at risk.
2. People need to keep away from them and be very careful about what they give them. Feeding them bits of leftovers or leaving bins out is just asking for trouble. Especially if they get used to humans. Like in the Grand Canyon.
I can't stand how people always have to say stuff like, "They'd never hurt a human" as if they wouldn't be awesome, beautiful animals otherwise. They're not our friends: they are gorgeous, willful WILD animals. I hate how we always need everything to be like us to appreciate it. And in Russia and Eastern Europe, they most certainly have killed humans.

Wolves are my favorite animal. They are mysterious, powerful, beautiful, and yet so misunderstood. To me, they represent courage, strength, family loyalty, individuality, and soulful expression. On my 19th birthday I got my first tattoo of a wolf howling at the sky. I think that's the only tattoo I'll ever need to get; it represents every aspect of my life. It's just pros versus cons. The less food there is abouts the more risks wolves will take to eat. Same with many other predators. The idea that they will NOT attack humans to eat misses that point. Humans are just another food source albeit an extremely risky one in most circumstances If the food runs out they'll look for as easy a target as they can. It's not evil, it's nature, but if the situation is right, humans are on the menu. I'm happy i can walk the highlands alone, unarmed.
Personally I'd love them to be reintroduced & I think wolves would do fine in the Scottish Highlands. No doubt they'd be monitored a lot, BUT I think the main protests would be from farmers. I wouldn't expect them to constantly hunt livestock, but sooner or later such incidents would happen occasionally and then the whole thing could go tits up, which - for the wolves' sake - is worrying .

unfortunately were I live (On a island in Canada) our own speices of Wolf (Called Newfoundland Wolf) Went extinct 50 years ago due to hunting, and because of that Coyote have somehow made their way onto the island and because their is no other larger predator the Coyote have become a major problem now D:

If you introduce them in the highlands then there should be no problem with it. To be honest though, they don't mix with people well. Dogs only mix with people because they are domesticated. Any predator capable of harming a human (that lives in close proximity to a modern society) will inevitably end up worse of for the experience. As long as there are no humans nearby, for the good of them as much as us, I don't see why not.

In our case (here in Montana, US) the experiment is causing great problems with cattle, domestic dogs, and game herds. There is not one documented case of a healthy wolf attacking a human in N. America(and believe me they looked for a case). The guy is a rancher and probably from the Yellowstone area. It's just pros versus cons. The less food there is abouts the more risks wolves will take to eat. Same with many other predators. The idea that they will NOT attack humans to eat misses that point. Humans are just another food source albeit an extremely risky one in most circumstances If the food runs out they'll look for as easy a target as they can. It's not evil, it's nature, but if the situation is right, humans are on the menu. I'm happy i can walk the highlands alone, unarmed.

Personally I'd love them to be reintroduced & I think wolves would do fine in the Scottish Highlands. No doubt they'd be monitored a lot, BUT I think the main protests would be from farmers. I wouldn't expect them to constantly hunt livestock, but sooner or later such incidents would happen occasionally and then the whole thing could go tits up, which - for the wolves' sake - is worrying .

unfortunately were I live (On a island in Canada) our own speices of Wolf (Called Newfoundland Wolf) Went extinct 50 years ago due to hunting, and because of that Coyote have somehow made their way onto the island and because their is no other larger predator the Coyote have become a major problem now D:

If you introduce them in the highlands then there should be no problem with it. To be honest though, they don't mix with people well. Dogs only mix with people because they are domesticated. Any predator capable of harming a human (that lives in close proximity to a modern society) will inevitably end up worse of for the experience. As long as there are no humans nearby, for the good of them as much as us, I don't see why not.

The main objection I can see against having them in Britain is that they'd inevitably be a pest to farmers one way or another.
However, I find it weird how this country when suggested returning these creatures everyone gives a huge resounding "NO!!!!!!" while at the same time the idea of allowing sharia courts in Britain (the start of a slippery slope) is met with "Yes, we should! It's inevitable!"

Nice video, and I think where they are found today is ok. The problem is reintroducting them into agricultural areas, areas were people, livestock, and domestic dogs are found. In our case (here in Montana, US) the experiment is causing great problems with cattle, domestic dogs, and game herds. After what we are going through, I honestly think you are crazy for wanting them. They reproduce until the food supply is gone, then they eat domestic animals.

Not only this, but a wolf has exceptional senses, its sense of hearing and smell is 100x that of a human. It can tell what you are, who you are and how you are in an instant. I've got to say that's pretty cool.

Remember the interviews? Those were some of the most ignorant comments I've heard. None of them were right except for the old lady saying that they were predators...duh! I seriously think no human should hunt top predators. There are less of them. I think we should be happy with hunting deer, but no. I think we just want to get hurt or something for money, maybe.
(Remember, I wrote this when I was angry. Some of this may be wrong and inmoral...but I'm MAD!!!)

There is not one documented case of a healthy wolf attacking a human in N. America(and believe me they looked for a case). The guy is a rancher and probably from the Yellowstone area. Their only arguements are that wolves are dangerous to humans(debunked). And that wolves eat their livestock(which they are repaid for by Wildlife Defense Funds). Btw, there are on-record WELL more than a million demestic dog attacks per year in the US. According to the SPCA.
