  • Does anyone else think this would make a wicked Final Destination death scene? Get an allergic reaction, you're paralyzed and the machine drains all the blood out of you while noones looking :P

  • @JermzzzyFTW that happened to someone my parents knew. apparently he was trying to flirt with the nurse who went away left him alone. The blood over flew from the pack, it kept going from him and they had to hospitalize him and give him additional blood instead. lol..

  • @JermzzzyFTW Ooooh! Good idea! Write to them XD

  • did i hear a trima in the background?! :)

  • I gave blood today, pretty cool. I also got to miss 2 hours of school ;)

  • gave blood yesterday felt real good and it was cool missing 3 hours of school too haha

  • I gave blood today :D

  • @jlh945 are you just upset that you were rejected for having HIV?

  • very professional keep up the good work!!

  • where are his gloves?????

  • @jlh945 You sir, are fucking retarded.

  • Donating my ELEET, PURE, CLEAN, NEVER STD, NEVER-GOT-DRUNK, NEVER DRUGGED, NEVER SMOKED, NEVER STEROID (FINE, .000001% BC DROPS I HAD TO PUT IN MY EYES AFTER LASIK SURGERY), BLOOD! =D

I SHOULD CHARGE LIKE $1,000 PER DONATION FOR HAVING SUCH PURE, CLEAN AND ELEET BLOOD =D

  • @Eleetnessful cool story, wana tell it again? oh wait dont care

  • @gindahouse1 haha you just said cool story you stupid fuck!

My urine is cleaner than ur saliva

  • @Eleetnessful haha its sarcasm ... and maybe so bt i stil dnt give a shit

  • There was this blood worker who was 100% lesbian who was getting me ready for the donation. She was scrubbing my arm and I started to get a boner. Right after she stopped it got soft again. She looked like Elvis Presley from the 50's with her haircut.

  • @jlh945 Collection, testing, and distribution are not cost-free activities.

  • Celox ad on the sidebar "stops severe bleeding fast"..lol.

  • cant they take blood from the legs

  • @devilasskicker The arm has the advantage that you can baby the arm post-donation. The legs need to be working to get from place to place.

  • @sneakers55 i see

  • @jlh945 In several small towns people DO die from lack of SUPPLY blood. Grow up and stop whining. If you don't want to give blood and be a nice guy, fine. Be a jerk. But don't whine on a page that's supposed to show people how easy it is.

  • My mother would have died without all the people that donated blood. She had HELLP syndrome when she was pregnant with me and they didn't catch it early enough. People do die due to loss of blood. The red cross doesn't sell blood.

  • @jlh945 its because of people like you that this world is so rotten, you make me sick !

  • @imalsomemphis they do sell it...

  • I was wondering WHY you use iodide?

It seems like a slow way to kill bacteria ?..

In Denmark we use a onetime-tissue whit alcohol.. kills bacterias instant, and its cheap..

so why Iodide in USA :)

    Please reply

  • I gave blood today. I lied about my weight for I'm far from 110ibs. But knowing the risks I did it anyway. Afterwards I went back to work for another 7 hrs detailing cars. Day was hard to get through but I felt good about it.

  • watch this stop-motion short film: watch?v=DNzJ9kFQ6Ho

it shows creatively how important blood donation is

  • Last time I gave, they used alcohol. An aroma that induces mild anxiety in me. After 22 donations and innumerable draws to monitor Depakote and Synthroid, you would think I would get used to it. At least the smell keeps me from being an alcoholic!

  • @hototti1 They indeed compensate for the drawing of manufacturing plasma. RBCs and platelets have to be volunteers.

  • I was a super donor with Medic two years running until I had two heart attacks in less thank two months..

  • @ldleold Was it related to the donations?

  • How do I know these guys are not feeding blood to an underworld of vampires?

  • man im really creeping himself out. i'll be donating blood in less than two hours at my school. creepy creepy creepy ahhhh... ill still go through with it tho

  • @LostJacket I'm donating tomorrow and I'm scared out of my mind, I'm thinking watching this might make me feel better, lmao

  • I donated for the 2nd time 2 days ago. It is not bad at all, just a small prick then just waiting. I will definatley do it again when i can =D Donate and save lives!!!

  • :D Giving blood to save lives a good action that all I can do . It does pinch , maybe like a mosquito bite , but with a little more..."pointy" feeling. Please don't be afraid , i know some people don't donate because they know the a "big" steel needle is going to plunge in to their skin .......I have also donated a lot of blood :)

Don't worry , saving people is already a good thing , rather than sitting there looking at your computer screen and saying : "Oh , i don't know if I should..."

  • I donate again soon, last time i ended up with a HUGE heart shaped bruise down my forearm. No joke you could see it from space.

  • We don't use iodine at our centers. We use chlorhexidine/alcohol scrubs. It's nice because you don't have to worry about allergies or staining donors. And we can't use anything but surgical markers to mark phlebotomy areas. Clips are for hermetically sealing tubing only.

  • On second scrub his concentric circle went beyond the first scrub making it contaminated!!!!

  • I first donated blood like a month ago! Awesome if it weren't for the fainting part haha. Does anyone of you guys know whether the choice of which arm you donate has any influence on the chance of fainting?

  • He done it without gloves, the moment he touches the gauze by hand, its not sterile anymore. damn but nice video.

  • Great!!! I donate blood regularly & happily since 17 years.

  • the iodine cleansing part of this is kinda of overdone i think

  • If all goes as planned I'll be donating for the 4th time on Monday. I'm excited but nervous for the needle, I hate that part.

  • Curse you Cheryl......curse you Cheryl... Why cheryl... oh why????

  • I love the way he says "and that it's done its job" at 3:54 , so gay lol...

  • I want to donate but too bad I'm hemophobic.

  • doesn't Wal-Mart carrying blood? They got every other damm thing. I bet they get their blood from China. 1cent they pay the people.

  • I wanted to donate but they told me I don't weight enough... :(

  • I donated today, i felt awesome and got lots of coupons and stuff.

  • Donate 1 pint and save up to 3 lives. yes it hurts a little, but its worth it, YOU SAVE PEOPLE"S LIVES!!! You save 3 lives with u just getting a small pinch. DONATE

  • does it hurt when people take blood from you? not as a donation though more like for testing.... i haven't had blood taken from me and my mom told me that along with getting an eye surgery, i'm also going to have blood taken away :( :( i'm so scared, can someone give me more information on how it feels etc?

  • Yeah. I mean, they are plunging a steel needle into your arm. What do you expect? But it's not excruciating pain. You just better hope you get someone skilled at it because some are not and for some reason they still butcher peoples arm for a living.

  • i think all doctors are vampires.

    calm down i just kidding

  • instead of executing people, why don't we just drain all their blood? we can get a good 4 litres or so, and also eliminates any inhumane factors.

  • @OwnageChicken I'd think it's a good idea, I mean, such a good body being healthy in jail for 20 years and people would think it'd be put to use, but hell, I guess they don't have to donate anything, they just stay healthy for 20 years for nothing.

second, apparently it would be considered "inhumane"

  • iodine much o.0

I have never had iodine used on me. Not sure what it is they use.

  • muita conversa irrita tira logo o sangue

  • actually its 10-12 mins i asked last week which was when i had my blood donated for a pint and each pint saves 3 ppls life =3

  • Your body makes blood continually. Give blood and save someones life.

  • @kickboxer31 i don't care. if it regenerates it's mine. why should i care about saving someone's life?

  • @ubermisogynist totally agree, at my school there were teachers forcing me to donate to the point where one teacher grabbed me, until i got into her face and said i had the right to refuse to donate and if she kept grabbing me, i would report her for harassment. if you do not want to donate, then say it loudly and proudly.

  • I want to donate by 1 litter of my blood to someone who can help me to live in a developed country....

  • P.S. seploud...FDA dictates that if a person is paid for their blood donation - it is a non-transfusable product. If you are paid for plasma, etc. it can only be used for research or cosmetic type purposes. There can't be a money incentive involved because it could cause donors to not be truthful during the pre-donation interview. If donors have nothing to gain, then they have no reason to lie. That is the basis of the rule anyway...

  • Gee, sure would like to know which blood center thinks it's acceptable to indent the donors skin with a grommet to mark the insertion site! I work for a blood bank - would not be allowed at my job! Besides, iodine? Must be an old clip, we haven't used that stuff for years!

  • I go to UBS here in arizona. Do they pay the nurses or tech's good money?? I overheard a nurse say they have a high turnover rate at these blood donors. But the econmy they way it is, she said some are staying on longer. Are you a nurse also?

  • i found it painful when they pierce the vein in the upper-hand.

  • they pierced your upper-hand?? I always thought it was in the arm? Did you do whole blood or platelets? Were the tech's who did the needle insert nice or mean? I had pretty girls, but some on the other side of the room look pissed off.

  • Yea, they put the needle right into my temple.

I lots sight in one eye for 10 mins.

  • I donate platelets 2 times a month. No nurses, just donor tech's do the work. I overheard one tech saying she makes $13.50 an hour and is looking for another job. I see old people donate and they fall asleep 4 minutes into the donation.

  • i donated blood yesterday, they get 450 cc of it, it hurts when pricking in my finger than pricking the site where will they insert the needle. its was nice, but i didnt feel any after effects of it until this time,

    i can saves life now,

  • I donated 4 months ago. After that, I was impotent for 2 months. WTF happen??

  • If the girl passes out, does that nurse take advantage of her? Does the guy start grabbing and touching things? I see our nurses just read magazines and talk. don't get me wrong there sweet. I wonder if they get paid alot of doing this work?

  • i gave blood today and after that i had a heat stroke...wat a great day

  • I didn't see the man wash his hands at all. This is so important! Why sanitise the patient's arm (she's used to her own bugs) but not the practitioner's (unfamiliar bugs to her)? This is an all-too-common cause of hospital-acquired infections.

  • The man might've took a dump and didn't wash his hands and now he is smearing it on the poor girl. I donate platelets, it takes 80 minutes. A nurse has to be by the machines of people donating platelets. The same nurse I had for the past 4 times, she goes outside for cigarette breaks (10 minutes) constant. then she comes back and I can hear her bitching to another worker about how she hates 3 other girls who work there. LOL

  • the girl, when he intserts the needle into her arm, she should start screaming for fun. Scare da crap out of everyone in da room.

  • I donated blood 2 weeks ago. While I was donating blood, I farted real loud. The nurse came by and removed the needle. She told me I had to leave.

  • @char675 WTF!!! how old are you, 6? dude i feel sorry for you, GROW UP!!!!!

  • @AgainstZion91... the way you write, it sounds like your 7 1/2 years old. Besides if someone farts who cares, wait to you get into your 80's and can't control your farts.

  • @char675 hahahahaha ROFLMFAO!!!!!!

  • @char675 Did she tell you the exact reason?

  • @char675 are you for real? lol

  • @char675 Lol

  • Yeah, i think ill keep my blood! FUCK THOSE NEEDLES!

  • Well...I donated today too. Didn't hurt at all, but the after effects wern't particularly pleasant, but nothing to be afraid of. Did get a bit hot, then cold though. And my hand got pins and needle. But hey its for a good cause.

  • yeh, i agree with you.. the aftermath is the worst.. the lightheadness is awful! needle poking i can deal with... but the lightheadness not so much..

  • I donated today, i didnt feel any different afterwards even though everyone told me i would pass out because im so lightweight. I dont see what the big deal is.

  • I donated blood today and now I feel horrible!

  • I actually just donated today. I was unaware of the finger pricking they gave to me lol. It didn't hurt just a little sting and then the actual process was good. The donation was going well and my hand got extremely cold and tingly then right before the bag was filled I got extremely light headed and felt weak but afterwards I felt great! It's fun and I recommend it.

  • i have a phobia of needles..and i think im going to try to donate.wiish me luck..im super scared=X

  • I have a phobia when it comes to blood donation, but I respect the people who do donate =D.

  • lol... im donating today at 10-11ish. 1st time i donated i felt sick.

  • oh my gosh!! watching this freaks me out!! i will hopefully be donating the day after tomorrow....

  • I'm donating in a week.

  • me too... that is if i don't chicken out lol

  • Typing on YouTube ; blood safety

  • What does that aluminum sealing clip do?

  • I think so that the clip has an open tubular end and when pressing that against arm it makes a ring-shaped hollow to that. Owing to the hollow it is easier to find out again the vein.

  • In my country (Poland) I did it twice. Once for sterilisation some alcohol based mixture was used and second time... I was supposed to clean that area on my own using provided liquid detergent.

  • been there done that and i passed out ! after my first time lol
