  • Sierra: People like to hate Raoul....

    Me: Yes. Yes we do.

  • I died when she died.

  • "Love is not breathless, it is not excitment. It is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what's leftover after being in love has burned away." Quote from the novel Captain Corelli's Mandolin. This is how I saw Raoul & Christine from the orginal production. I saw them as a couple who could live together happily long after the passion subsides. While being love was Phantom of Christine.

  • It's interesting that Raoul knows that he can't give her the needed fulfillment that a certain type of music can. He knows & sings about it in a scene I saw. That would be heartbreaking, I know. I have experienced the same in love. There is a certain "..?.." that sets your soul on fire, something that drives you ever higher. Raoul was smart enough to know that, but stayed with her anyways. Remember, Christine was only 17 when she awoke to these new feelings. & unable to correctly judge them then

  • @Marylmac The sexual chemistry between Phantom & Christine is evident. And it's clear Andrew wanted that to be one of the reasons people should root for that couple. So they wouldn't be labeled as boring which is how Raoul & Christine have become. He wrote this show with the intension of trying to display "A sexual passion wins over a stable & calm relationship." And it was easier to portray Raoul as the bad guy because of that reason. I disagree with him becuase I don't see the true love.

  • Weird, cause I didn't know Christine and the phantom did "it" If Gustave is really his son, they should tell that in a song or something, not out of the blue hearing that Gustave is Eriks son... But I love it!

  • @musicalsterinspe In the song "Beneath A Moonless Sky" they practically say it ^^

  • @WildflowerK

Yeah I've noticed that XD So cute! I love Love never dies

But WHY did he left her? To keep it going? Fool! XD

  • @musicalsterinspe Men! :D:D:D

  • If only it wasn't taken down from West End...

    T.T

  • @RosesNightengales THOSE ARE MY 2 FAVOURITE SONGS TOO! lol sorry I'm just excited

  • Sorry I forgot something. I think she made the right choice going with Raoul. The Phantom was a killer in the 1st one. Even though I feel bad for him in some cases, Raoul only tried to save/protect her.

  • OMG! I totally agree with her about Raoul! I always thought that he became a drunk because Christine was keeping that seceret.

  • Beauty Underneath is an awesome song! I freaking love it next to Till I Hear You Sing!

  • I think that the point Sierra is trying to make is that the Phantom can give her genius and inspiration. She is a Performer and although she was the Phantoms's muse, what she comes to discover was that he was what drove and inspired her as well if not more so than she did for him. Raoul doesn't get that about Christine.

  • @TheAzbycxdwevfu But as Sierra said herself. Nobody is innocent in this show. (Spoilers! Don't read my comment if you wish to avoid them) I think Raoul recieves more flack then he needs. If Christine truly loved the Phantom then she should have said so. Instead she becomes intimate with the Phantom the night before her wedding & decides when she wakes up she'll run away with him. Which would have left Raoul lost & alone after he was willing to die for her. She comes across more as the villian.

  • Aweosme

  • 3:31 I want more of that footage! haha

  • I personally completely disagree with her ideas about Raoul. Raoul is amazingly strong and I think Christine loved him a lot, different from the Phantom. What could the Phantom give her that Raoul couldn't? Passion? Raoul's pretty passionate. Music? There is plenty of music in the world. Crazy mood swings with volatile shifts into destructive anger? Oh yeah, maybe that's the one he misses. Damn, I can see why he'd go crazy now *Sarcasm*

  • @animelover13579 You are so right. I do like Erik's character, but Raoul is clearly the smart choice. Does no one remember that he's killed before? I always thought that was kind of funny that everyone falls blindly for the phantom. :P

  • @tudorrose4456

Don't forget that most of the people fall in love with a "dangerous/mistery-guy" looking people.

    Very good explenation was it?

    sorry for my bad English
