you must be a real idiot to buy this. samsung slate 7 (which i own, and that has full power and color brilliance, which this products will never reach) or asus ep121 are the same size, but include a full computer with full multi touch. this is just an perversly arrogant expensive piece of shit. wacom---rethink or dy;)
i hope wacom is getting owned by samsung and asus, etc.. for their expensiveness.
Ive been using the cintiq 12wx for over half a year now, everything works great except 2 things. The screen brightness seems to be off, when you go into the dark values, things may look more black then they accualy are, wich means its important to see how it looks on your main moniter as well. And another annoying thing is that when you get neer the edges of the screen, it seems to push your cursor away from the edge, so your cursor isnt where your pointing anymore neer the edges.
@LegolasManowarMJ Yes. I have to do exactly what you just described to hook the tablet up. To be able to use both monitors without unhooking one you'd have to get a Intuos3 or 4 but you will lose the ability to draw on the screen directly.
@LegolasManowarMJ Bamboo is the entry level tablet. Just upgrading to a Medium size or larger Intuos4 (or 3) will have a drastic improvement on your tablet experience. I will admit there's nothing like working directly on the screen, but there are times where a tablet has it's advantages like allowing you to paint/draw without your own hand getting in the way. Since the Cintiq 12wx can operate as both you really don't lose. Except for the fact you have to unhook a monitor
@VickyYarova i thought the exactly same thing when i posted this comment, but i cant be sure like this all the time. later then i found out it works ^^
@TractorTheBassist Yes. It will work with ANY software. the pen just simply replaces the mouse. Whatever you can do with a mouse you can do with the pen and tablet. The benefit is you can set keyboard shortcuts to the pen and tablet buttons to make your workflow a bit easier
hi, i have intuos4 for now and can't decide if i should get 12wx? the thing is it was a hard time for me drawing here and looking there, i just want to see where and what i draw, does the upgrade worth it or i'd better get used to intuos4?
@HaohmaruHL It's important to see what you are drawing while you are doing it so I say yes, get the 12WX or the 21UX model. It makes a big difference to be able to see what you are drawing!
@lilyskid It's got a crazy cable management system that is not shown in this video. A total of 3 cables (including needing an outlet) are required to operate the tablet. Far from wireless. I would even debate the portability of this tablet. You won't be able to pack this up easily and move it to draw anywhere as they make it seem in some videos. With that being said, I still love mine ;)
Great review (havent watched it all yet) but I got a chance to use a 12wx about a year ago but I found that the pixles or brush lagged behind the pen tip as where on the 21ux it didnt have that problem (something to do with refresh rates?). I dont know if it may have just been a dodgey tablet but it didnt occur on the 21ux I used. Does this happen on your 12wx? lemme know thanks!
@FranksTechHelp soo that means if i dont have a mac then i will have to buy a mac AND a Graphics tablet.....:(( ..... at least i have my...laptop touch panel...:'(
Very cool! I think I'll be getting one for my PC, I have a question though, what kind of drawing software is good for the Clintiq 12wx? Or, what do you use? Please Reply!
@mvcfitz33 oh ok thanks a lot...it'll be a little while to save up to buy one, but i've really been itching to get this, so i'm glad that i know it'll work with my macbook...thanks for the vid and the response!! :)
@FranksTechHelp but im lookin for 1 where i dont necessarily need to hook up to a pc cuz im gonna be traveling alot in a few months and i dont want 2 take my pc with me all around i only need something to draw my architectural designs
@justtimeticking Haha good question, if you had it hooked up to a PC then I bet you could program the keys for fire, strafe, etc. That would be a good experiment, futile but good...
@jimmypetelol 21UX for sure, the 12WX is more portable but the 21UX has MUCH more working space but it's bigger and not able to be placed in your lap, just a few things to consider.
@saprissa9 Yes, you can see it in the video at times. It's inherent for this model. The edge calibration isn't that great so it's better to keep your work centered on the screen while working. I wish this wasn't the case because I like to use the file menus and tools on the side a lot at it kind of kills the smoothness.
@FranksTechHelp THANK YOU for the fast response! aaww god damn it so i gotta work in the middle of the tablet? wow if size was not a problem enough. anyway thanks for the info!
@saprissa9 No problem, you can actually get pretty close to the edges if you calibrate the tablet correctly, it took me a day or two to finally get it just right but once you do I think you will like it. It's just the very edges that get bad as far as response is concerned. You don't have to stay exactly in the middle of the image but the closer the more responsive it will be. You'll get use to it after a couple of days i'm sure. Just play with the calibration until it feels tight for you.
@FranksTechHelp ok thanks for the info. what about if connecting 1 monitor through hdmi and the cintique through vga? have you tried it? Great review by the way!
@gpermata I'm running mine on a Macbook so I am not sure about the HDMI VGA part, although it should work just fine if you mirror the displays from your desktop. Should work fine. Are you looking to buy or do you already own one?
@FranksTechHelp Oh ok. Yeah im looking to buy one. I am college students and all i have is a laptop and a monitor so that i can work/have entertainment in big screen. im currently running hdmi to my monitor and there is a vga port on my laptop. i hope it can work both ways, vga on cintiq and hdmi on monitor. Anyway thanks for the information and review!
