its funny how i couldnt get past the movie(i made it about to the part where he pours cold water on himself to get rid of a boner) but i couldnt put the book down. took me 3 days to read it

amazing movie.......just amazing. everything about it is perfect. the acting the casting the black and white filming the music. everytin.....cinematic history.....de niro one of the greatest this and godfather 2 his 2 best performances
@permatasly looks like it. looks alot like the capone he did (6?) years later, then 2 years after that ('88), he was as slim as taxi driver ('76)...de niro is the most dedicated actor ive ever seen. hes changed his weight more times than the real jake la motta did
I think this movie was DeNiro's finest work. But the monologue still reminds me of a skit John Candy did for SCTV: a commericial for a restaurant called "Jake LaMotta's Raging Bull-B-Que". "We got burgers, we got fries, we'll cook 'em here before your eyes...Da da di da..That's Entertainment..."

thats entertainment what a powerfull speech does any1 know if la motta really said all that or if they made for the film by the way i would love so much to go to evening with jake la motta
this is film is simply amazing nowerdays all actors put on and lose weight for film roles but back then it was really something for de niro to do what he did it was not the norm for actors to do so im glad hollywood rejected this flick because they base success on how much money a film's made , but can never see a great film's true value
Great movie, one a my favorites.

This single clip of 1:12 minutes has more acting in it than most actors can offer in an entire film. Powerful!! That's Entertainment!!!!!

The shock of this scene, when I saw it released the first time, realising what De Niro did to himself. I will never forget it!

the last shot is brilliant. Just a cut from the fat mess he is to a young strong perfect sportsman. Brillant editing.

I remember those cheers,
They still ring in my ears,
And for years they remain in my thoughts.
'Cause one night I took off my robe,
And what'd I do? I forgot to wear shorts.
I recall every fall, every hook, every jab,
The worst way a guy can get rid of his flab,
As you know, my life wasn't drab.

Though I'd rather hear you cheer when I tell them the SHakespeare,
A horse a horse my kingdom for a horse,
I haven't had a winner in 6 months.
And though I'm no Olivier,
And before Sugar Ray, he would say that the thing ain't the ring it's the play,
Ao give me a stage, where there's bull heck and rage,
And though I can fight,
I'd much rather recite...that's entertainment!

Robert De niro gained 60 pounds on the scene JAKE LA MOTTA 1964 but his original weight is on the scene JAKE LAMOTTA 1941.
