How do these VNRs get uncovered?

Nielsen Media Research reports that 100% of "news" networks have used these and 80% use at least one a month, but I don't get how they know that. I'm sure the stations and the PR firms who produce the VNRs do everything possible to keep it secret.

It's such a shame that all the 'whistle-blowers' on video news releases have to be just as dishonest as the local news programs using them. For example, this video poster deliberately conflates a local FOX affiliate with the FOX News Channel, even though, no, News Corp does not produce the local news for a broadcast station. Murdoch and Ailes are not dictating how this station conducts the local evening news.
