I asked my parents why they don't support Senator Obama and they said, "Well, we just don't think that America is ready for a black president. He probably won't win"

This sincerely saddened me. My response to this is to fight those with this perspective. Tell them, "You are America. If you support Barack, then America IS ready." Please don't let this way of thinking continue. America deserves better. America is better. Hope in 08.

I think that is the problem w/ her generation, that's all they see is race, not qualifications (she hasn't even looked to see what Edwards wants to do, listen to any of his speeches but she is voting for him b/c he is not Hillary or Barack), not ideas, ppl like her make me sick and make this country worse. My mom said she would not vote for hime b/c she is afraid for his children, when I asked her about Edwards (whom she is voting for) b/c his children are quite young also, her reply was "that's different". I said how, because he's white (we are black american)? She didn't answer. I said that is so bigoted and racist.

My dad is and always has been a hardcore Republican. I've showed him some of Obama's speeches and some of the things he's accomplished and he's seriously considering voting for him. The other day something about Obama's JJ speech came on the news and he pulled me aside and said "you know what, I think this guy is going to win."

I like you Michelle, but tone down the black America talk. Barack is good, a great guy and I hope he wins. But, right now Bill Clinton is doing a better job winning over the black vote.
