  • set it in neutral and push.

  • It's bad to gun a car back and forth..

  • Shovel the damn driveway!!!

  • @ndawg79 now THAT would have been really novel!!! I'll suggest it next time! LOL

  • @dollypantry sounds good. LOL!!!! It sucks having to shovel. But he had to get the car in the driveway before someone lost control in road and got hit. So I get it.

  • I sure hope your husband realizes that all Saabs are equipped with WINTER DRIVE.

the sport combi also has the all wheel drive option...prolly should have invested in that..

  • dont they have scrapers or snowblowers

  • @guizmo5555 they only grit the roads buses use or main roads the small roads and paths people are left to suffer but if we want a really nice road new tar mac no rubbish and no snow we can always drive outside number 10 downing street they look after that perfect

  • Wrong tyres.

  • with snow tires these cars are unstoppable.

My 9-5 aero is like a tank in the snow. I run dedicated for winter !

    Out performs any SUV !!

  • Seems like the experts are saying it's all about the tyres... only really posted this on here because it made me laugh so much!!!!!

  • Yup, my dad's got a 2003 9-5 estate and I was amazed at how bad it was in the snow considering it was built in Sweden, and look at the snow Sweden gets compared to the UK...

  • It doesn't matter if its fwd, rwd, 4x4, landrover, a hummer or a Saab. Without the proper tyres ANY car will spin and get stuck in deep snow or ice. You can't design a car with normal tyres to have significantly better grip than another car on snow/ice. Its all in the tyres! (last winter I was overtaking stuck landrovers, landcruisers and various other 4x4's in my fwd 1L corsa with snow tyres)

  • @chrisactor YAY! Go Corsa! I have a 1.7D and never got stuck in the snow just with a pair of brand new tires on the front. :¬) Couldn't buy snow tires anywhere.

  • I would have bought a 4x4, been out of there in no time.

  • Traction is traction. You need some skinnier snow tires. Nice car though!

  • Thanks for tips - fortunately, we don't get enough snow to warrant speciali tyres - couple of days in the warm and it's all gone. lol

  • I think that this vid just accents that the old 99 and 900 SAABs, designed and built by Swedes, were the real snow cars. The new crop of GM re-engineered Opel platforms aren't the SAABs of yore. One poster here said that "it is the driver not the car" and that is true to a large degree but it was tough to stop an old SAAB in the snow. There is a reason that old SAABs are still popular. It is because of all the real Swedish driving goodness built in.

  • Finally Saab got rescued =))

    Yahoo =D

  • Lol XD

  • Hahaha no driving experience on snow and no winter tyres

  • You have to admire his persistence... We had a similar situation, irony was the shop was shut on account of the snow so it was a waste of time.

  • LOL - got to bring home the bacon! Re previous comments - it's an automatic..

  • it doesn't matter if the car is automatic, it's the driving experiance and the tires that matter most..I mean I drive a 2007 Pontiac G6, and nearly no treads on my tires but I have 5 years of hard core racing and driving experiance..oh forgot to mention the weight of the car matters as well

  • @QROPS LOL!

  • funny how people always let their tires go spinning as if it would make things better lol

  • haha true..it just makes it worse..the snow becomes more slippery and then you're even more stuck then before

  • ...get better tires...

  • need more wieght my exploere weighs twice as much as it

  • well when you drive in this sort of conditions if you have a manual i've always been told you always start in 2nd or 3rd gear so you minimize wheelspin and dont get stuck but people in this country have no idea how to drive in snow and just think whack in 1st and rev bollocks out the engine and they wonder why they dont go anywhere

  • Looks like No Winter Tyres! My experience with winter tyres on my Saab 95 is excellent. 17" Summer Tyres are just NOT for winter condtions, can be well dangerous..

  • love this country, a wee bit snow n everything comes to a halt. just get my freelander out n am sorted

  • ?? not really,

  • It would have been quicker to walk!

  • Good job I've got a car equipped for this sort of weather....

  • a front wheel drive saab estate?

  • @janipewter

All SAABs are front wheel drive.

  • except the ones with an x in the name.
