Damn!!!! Thanks for the video. Wish I'd been there. Hard to believe that this song is what, about 43 years old now? Released in '67??? Who in '67 was listening to a tune written 43 years before that, in '24? I don't think so. Rundgren rocks out on this like bands nowadays only wish they could. Open My Eyes is definitely one of the all-time great rock songs, and probably the most driving song of the brief psychedelic rock era.
I need to get tickets to see Todd in September...

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!
He performs the song with ALL the energy and freshness of spirit as when he first wrote it for the Nazz's first album, 42 years earlier. It was barely a hit then, but it got famous as an "Artyfact" of the 1960s "first psychedelic era" during the 1970s doldrums when the "Nuggets" collection came out. Garage, punk, psychedelic, pop and who knows what else all owe it a huge debt. And the man can still write (and produce) cutting-edge stuff in 2009....
